    Thank you for this tutorial! Found it so helpful. I’m new to alcohol ink coasters and I’m stuck in the resin stage. Maybe it was the resin I used but I had ton of craters/fisheyes. Used a heat gun which didn’t seem to help. Just shifted the resin into new craters. Any suggestions? Can I ask what brand of resin you used? Thank you!

    Very Pretty. So are you using the krylon glaze before adding your resin? I didn't see this part in the video. I see it listed in what you used though. I usually just add the Resin after the Ink has dried. Just wondered if this is a step you took and is it better to do this before adding the Resin. Thanks

    Hey Becky! Great question.. in the video I didn’t take this step and this is because it was my first time making coasters . I learned later on that some colours can change.. while they still look gorgeous, the point of the Kamar varnish is to set your inks in place so they don’t risk moving . Some colours may shift while others won’t so it’s just that extra step of ensuring they don’t 🙂 hope this helps ! Would love to see your coasters if you tag me @_dmpaints on IG

  • @demilli1737

    @demilli1737

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Keneisha! For my most recent batches, I used table top epoxy resin by New Classic In Canada. Whatever resin you use, you want to make sure that the heat resistance would be high enough to handle a hot mug! Usually manufacturers have that information listed somewhere or you could contact to inquire.

    This batch I let set for a couple of weeks (just because I didn’t have the time to get around to them) but I think because I let the inks set naturally they didn’t move !! I didn’t spray them with Anything . But if you’re looking to resin them almost immediately, I would invest in kamar varnish spray to seal them prior to resin :)
