I find it hilarious when Lee says "May my horse turn to glue" and his horse is like, "Oi, I didn't agree to this."

ah, those were the days, when a man could ride a horse down main street in an orange suit, singing a loud and boisterous song about his own greatness, and no one wanted to lock him up for it.

That horse deserved some kind of reward.

My 8th grade Social Studies teacher showed all of his classes this movie while we were learning about the Declaration of Independence and we all got passing grades. I think it was the movie. It really helped. ^_^ Kids in his class were singing all the songs for weeks. We had musicals in the hallways! XDDD!!! Those were the days when school was fun.

You were lucky to have a good teacher. I did the same as a social studies teacher. There is no film or documentary that captures the spirit of '76 better than this one. And my classes reacted the same way. My principal was anti-videos- he though they were just an excuse fir teachers to sit around and sleep. So I invited him in to observe when we were midway7 through the movie. as usual, I stopped the video at least 20 times to make a comment, or answer questions. The man left whistling "The Lees of Old Virginia," and never complained about me showing videos again...

I'm actually really amused by the mental image of Mrs. Lee saying "You mean you didn't get the resolution? Get out!"

"I'll just stop long enough to refresh the Misses..." great line.

I love the call back - 'he's obnoxious and disliked!' And, good lord, John doesn't look too happy about any of it, which makes the whole thing about three times as funny. Also, Lee is a gigantic ham.

I love Lee's expression when he falls back into the fountain...practically a Christopher Lee.

Lee: "And my my horse be spurred to glue" Horse: "When did I agree to that?" Later on when Lee kneels his horse bows beside him.

This musical is so addicting. Nerdy pleasure

One of the best musicals ever, and the best acted scene ever, period!

I watched this movie, and I had the weirdest dream about this scene. I was dancing with them, and I looped my arm in Lee's arm, and his coat was really soft. It was scary.

I love this play.

hahaha I like how he keeps acting proud and emphasizes the LEE sound in songs + words. (emphasizing himself too btw). He's a fun character that makes my neighbors and me laugh in class!!!

we watched this in my US history class last year, and I had all the songs stuck in my head for 124310949 hours.

I love how Richard Henry Lee is so happy, Benjamin F. is supportive and Mr.Adams is.......ehhh
