They've copied the idea of using cheap props and scenery manipulated roughly by hidden stage hands though
For some of the younger viewers who may not know, the "endless gravel quarries" comment had to do with the fact that many alien worlds in the original series were filmed at Welsh gravel quarries, especially during the Pertwee and Baker eras.

I come back to this whenever I need cheering up. Always love it. The fact that the plot holds up (as much as any DW plot does), it uses Timey-Wimey events and even has a clever twist for how The Doctor and The Master can share info secretly. It’s a masterpiece in its way, poking fun in a way that manages to be reverential. It’s a tricky line to tread but it does perfectly. … and it also involves the Daleks having a beam to destroy the universe, and sewers being a plot point….. sound familiar? I've watched this skit at least four times over the years it has been on KZread but this time I noticed how many future Dr Who plot developments are prophesied in it.
I can't get over how clumsily the middle part of the Master's TARDIS bobs up and down. It's sending me for some reason!
"Look after the universe for me. I've put a lot of work into it."

The Timeless Child debacle has made all these ‘Doctors’ canonical. 😂
Rowan is actually very good in this! Guess who wrote this? Steven Moffat! The great Steven Moffat.
I cannot begin to express my love for this video.

This is cannon now. The War Bean.
just noticed that at 9:02 you can see someone inside the dalek on the left 🤣
Richard E. Grant is...."How could I ever forget the only time time Travelling Companion I've ever HAD"...I DIED. Hugh Grant with that hair sweep from his face...gorgeous. "oh sister..." lolz!!!!!
Rowan Atkinson could actually be the doctor I think. He's got a little bit of Paul McGann in him. And to think that when I first saw Silvester McCoy I thought he reminded me of mr bean...

I can never forgive Silvester's episode with Bertie Bassett!
The master shyly hiding his beam locators at the end was a nice touch
This skit really feels like if Classic Doctor Who continued in the 90’s!
I actually really like Rowan Atkinson and Richard E Grant as the Doctor. They both do it so well!
"They're also extremely firm" "What are you trying to say?!" "Oh...Nothing" LOL!! SO FUNNY!
Was great to see Jim Broadbent in this, although his part was rather short.
You’ve got to love the Master’s consistency, always escaping the sewer in 312 years. We really do need more people in the world as stoic and as determined as the Master.

I simply travelled back in time and rescued myself from the Pandorica. Has Steven Moffat really changed so little. XD
Y'know, Rowan Atkinson as the new doctor could most possibly save the current Dr Who series

@@hokimaki1234 Exactly. This comic relief alone proves it. We got 5 new Doctor Who actors who all performed the role fantastically and felt like the Doctor even in this comic relief special. It's been said over and over but it's not a super difficult role to play (not that everyone who does will be Peter Capaldi), but it does come down to the writing.

@@thelinedrive I quit watching after Capaldi, for some reason the writing tanked and they killed the Christmas episode when Jodi came onboard IMO. She gave a great portrayal of the Doctor which really makes it unfortunate

Having been a Dr. Who fan my entire life, it's always cool to come across something I haven't seen before. Love it!...
2023 : this "uncanon" episode makes more sense than what happened to Doctor Who today. "I'll always remember when The Doctor was"... Doctor Who.
Fun fact: Thanks to the novels 'The Tomorrow Windows' and 'The Gallifrey Chronicles' this story and all Doctors in it are as canon as any other part of Doctor Who
I can only imagine how much fun this was to act in.
This is better than the current Dr Who 😂😂😂😂

Steven William Moffat. A lifelong Doctor Who fan who went from doing comedy sketches to actually running the show. I love the guy, even if I don't agree with all of his writing decisions. Whenever he hit a home run, it was due to his passion for Doctor Who and whenever he stumbled, it was also due to that same passion. He's always been a member of the fanbase and, aside from the original creators, there's nothing better than a professional writer who also happens to be a fan.

This is why I love Classic Who.
