    As I kid I was fearless and did anything, now at 42 trying to safely recapture my skills. I have been building my repertoire but it's getting stale. I can do a nice dive, front flip, back flip, back 180 flip, watermelon, sailor dive (no hands dive, also called penguin) and a front flip where you stay stiff as a board instead of tucking. Been trying to get my courage up for the gainer and this is a huge help! (All my jumps have been off a 1 meter board so I'm trying to adjust velocity). There has been alot of over rotating due to the height. Would love it if you broke some of the trickier stuff down in steps? As with most tricky dives, the people who can do them make them look deceptively simple and a breakdown would be awesome. Keep up the tricks!!

    Thanks for the comment! I gotta find the nearest 1m board and give it a go! Haha. I’m the same way. I love trampolines, then the insurance company made my parents take it down like 15 years ago. Fast forward to my house with a pool and I’m at it again! I will do a tutorial video soon. I have a tiny tumbling training from college so hopefully all my advice isn’t the worst! Haha. Is your board a jump stand, meaning it’s springy? It looks as such. What length is the board, and your pool? We’re having n 18x36 vinyl liner pool installed now, with a 10’ deep end. I went deeper and sacrificed some shallow area so we could go with an 8’ springy board.

  • @LeisureLuke

    @LeisureLuke

    Nice!!!! My kind is just standard. I think it’s a canteliever board 6’. Like this www.poolzoom.com/6-cantilever-board-base-wht.html?gad=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9ea9neqBgQMV6AutBh39vg_iEAQYASABEgJ5jfD_BwE. My deep end is about 8’6” of water, which I think means it was built as a 9’ deep. 10 will be plenty!!! The danger factor of a full 8’ spring board is noticeable, and it’s always something you could upgrade to later. I like mine, but you’ll always WISH it was bigger and springier, but I wouldn’t upgrade it for the safety of myself and others.

    How can I practice for the front flip dive?

  • @LeisureLuke

    @LeisureLuke

    3 жыл бұрын

    That one was tough to throw at first! I practiced 2 things, which worked for me. 1 - think about practicing big giant front flips - which is the jump you will use. 2 - practice really tight, fully tucked in small front flips, which is the position you use. Then if you think of a front flip as 2 beats, you've gotta remember to hold it for 3 beats before straightening out! GL!

  • @LeisureLuke

    @LeisureLuke

    2 жыл бұрын

    It’s a scary dive. Get real small on your rotation, hold it for an extra beat (like 1/3 of a second), and straighten out fast. It feels like sharp robotic movements - curl up, and straighten out. Sometimes I’m under or over, but I’ve never hurt myself on that one. The only part you really have to get a feel for is the timing. Film it! No guts no glory! Big jump! LETS GOOOOO!! 🥳🥳👍🏼

    how deep is the pool?

  • @LeisureLuke

    @LeisureLuke

    3 жыл бұрын

    The water depth is usually around 8'6" - and that's about 1.5 inches from the top of the skimmer boxes. I like to keep it high like that for extra dive depth, and I think it circulates the water better near my steps. I was rewatching my top 51 dive video and thinking lowering it would give me a little more hang time for that near-impossible #1 trick, which I've only ever pulled of twice! ;)
