Great how-to video! Thanks for saving me significant replacement $$. I almost ordered a new robot right away, but figured I'd try this first. It fixed my Dolphin model with the exact same bearing, threw it in the pool and it started working again. I used toothpicks to move the motor brush springs off and then used them to hold the brushes back while inserting the electric motor back into its housing. With the extra bearings, I'm ready for 4 more repairs if necessary.

Good news - bad news. Good news: your electric motor is working again! NICE FIX! Bad news: You put the motor brushes on backwards. A few people in the comments have fixed it by resoldering the wires instead of removing the motor. I would just undo it, swap (reverse the polarity) of the electric motor power wires, and you'll be good to go. The reason it has no suction is because the motor is spinning the wrong way. You have more like a hovercraft now, but that aint cleanin the pool so good. Cheers!

Thanks for the comment! That carbon dust is a build up from the brushes wearing away on the motors. These are "brush motors" vs "brushless motors".
