    I will be 61 years next birthday and started calisthenics about 6 months ago. I have a little experience in human movement from work in physical education teaching, but that was 3 careers ago. I found your sequence excellent and recently had started linking a few of them together from my own knowledge, particularly around the frog stand. I look forward to seeing and trying more of your suggested movements.Peter

    This is actually more focused on building strength from A to Z compare to other videos just telling you to stretch your shoulders, wrists and use the wall. I mean, yes conditioning the wrists and opening up shoulders are also must to do, but realistically this video is more relevant to many of those people who actually need some fundamental strength first of all. Good one bro, I am working on this too! 💪🏾

    I do agree with what you have but I think you need a few more things. Both wall handstand variations are good to teach your body the position and build strength. Shoulder taps on the wall help with balance. Wall handstand push ups are good for strength building

  • @OfficialRAWTRICKS

    @OfficialRAWTRICKS

    6 жыл бұрын

    +Baristi thanks Baristi for the constructive comment, personally i found the wall training the less beneficial for learning handstand cuz as soon as your legs are supported you lose connection with essential muscles that you need for the process, as a strength building you could also achieve it through shoulder press, pike push up, hindu push ups, as an example if you see a large number of Crossfit athletes they always seem to struggle with handstands, even tho is part of their regular workout, they actually do tons of handstand push ups against the wall and they never seem to master it, however very individual is different so trying different approaches can be beneficial at some point. Appreciate it

  • @nate508

    @nate508

    Good point, however I think with the wall, if you are constantly kicking off of the wall and just using it to help stay up, it is effective

    Maybe you can only hold a few seconds because of your body strenght. Unless you just fall over, then it is because of your balance. Try to master the first step, then the second, then the thrird... and so on. Not every step a bit.

    Very clear, logical chronological advancements in movement. I watched some other channels before, but this one got to the point quickest + makes me confident I'm able to learn this in a couple of months. Apparently just not strong enough (at all).

    My dear friend and mestre... THANK YOU so much for the wonderful videos. I am almost 50 years old and I have had injuries from my years as one of the first breakdancers in the 80's, to wrestling injuries in college, to an automobile accident in 2003 and a dislocated shoulder while doing macaco in spring this year. As a warrior, I refused to give up to the pain, and the ancient spirits of hip hop told me to find the origin. The source. That is how I found Capoeira in 2016. I found a wonderful maestra, but could not afford the school, honestly. Then I found you. My life has changed now and the pain has been replaced by flexibility and strength. I lost 35 pounds and your Capoeira flow is like the movement of air or water. When I ginga, or Au or practice my esquivas and kicks, I aim to flow seamlessly like you teach us to do. I am very grateful, and humbled by your own humility - and I encourage you to keep up the good work, as you inspire so many wonderful people. Muito Obrigado. Respect always and God shine his grace upon you. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Oshe... oshe o baba. Chuma

    I think the arched back is great. It helps activate the latissimus by that, strengthens the back for the frog to handstand. Thanks for the tutorial man.
