Why is it happening though it’s NOT a dog problem it’s a people problem. People can’t afford to keep them due to rising costs of living, ridiculous vet bills and societal pressure. Dogs just don’t turn up at the shelters for no reason. Yes Lee is doing an amazing fantastic job but we as a society have to get to the root cause of which there’s obviously many. 💜

​@@skyheart1495one of the root causes is people not spaying or neutering their dogs and there also needs to be strict legislation on shutting down puppy mills. Spaying and neutering is not costly anymore and there are many clinics that offer low cost spaying neutering or even free.

@@skyheart1495 It's not only because of money. Let us just face it. There are A LOT of "wretched" human beings in this world. I won't say where, but I know that when the recession hit, in a "particular well-known city, there were people who would do anything for a buck. People were trying to open more pet stores and we all knew by then that puppy mills were supplying dogs. These were not reputable breeders, just "everyday folks" who got the bright idea that these stores would bring in money. And now that the pandemic is over, many people want to "live again." Where I am, you can no longer hear the dogs that were barking the past three years. It seems like there are only a few now. You also don't see nearly as many people walking dogs. But everybody around here seems to have a brand-new car! And people are eating out and spending money for entertainment and things of that nature. Of course, not for all, but for many people, their dogs were just "something else to do" while they were "holed up" during the pandemic. And now, unfortunately, they have broken free and moved on to "other things." Some serious laws need to be changed. Or, we need some new laws on the books.

I live in San Antonio Texas there are so many mine homeless dog and cat on the streets it really bad everywhere with to mine dog ang cats and they are getting put down about 500 dogs and puppies and cat and some kitten to and it because people don't get there pets fixed I have one dog and 3 cat I picked up off the streets and got them fixed and got all the shots for them every year on there shots 😺🐕🙏

From Texas with love ❤ thank you so much Mr Asher I wish I can have one of the small one. I rescue fur baby’s myself but financially right now I’m tied up. Currently I have 3 seniors and a 7 years old. Thank you too to Apollo Rescue but I still see too many dogs that dies on the street because owners let them loose. They live in a countryside where there are no street lights and people drive fast. Thank you again Mr Asher. ♥️🙏

What you do Lee is so appreciated you are an Angel. What you do is super hard, a lot of work plus tons of heartbreak 💔 I have a hard time with two dogs. Cooking for them, grooming, them, brushing them, brushing their teeth, cutting their nails, exercising them, socializing them, vaccines, medications, Finding a good Veterinarian, caring for them when they are sick, finding a trustworthy sitter if I leave town. The easy part is Loving them. Lee has to do all this and way more for fifty plus dogs and other animals that come and go.
