I adopted a highly special needs puppy from Seattle Animal Shelter and you finally explained him, Lee; he is also highly emotional and misunderstood. He’s so empathetic he licks my tears when I cry. Thanks for being on earth being who you are, doing what you do, man! Hope your family is safe.

Never apologize for "being all over the place." I look every day to see if you have posted another video. I love each and every one of them. Real exciting when you have had rescue day and we get that beautiful update a week or so later. I can't believe any of these gorgeous creatures were going to be put down. We love you Lee for all you are doing to save these precious angels.

My Freyja was red carded at Hesperia, CA. She was returned twice for destructive behavior so was on the list with two others for when space was needed. It was just by chance I saw her. We drove over three hours to meet her and bring her home. Only took her a few weeks to really settle and start to blossom. It’s two and a half years later and she is just wonderful. I would recommend people to adopt from the euthanasia list first as often those dogs just need some time and patience. No dog should lose a chance at a long life just because space is needed. They could have been the victims of just someone that didn’t know anything about dogs or the specific breed. Freyja is a husky mix and pretty sure her previous adopter took her home and the next day left her alone and went to work for 8 hours. I’m retired and home most of the time and I have Diana pawPrints to keep her company when I do leave for a little while. I wasn’t familiar with huskies but I have owned dogs and know you have to allow for an adjustment period. I stayed home for three weeks when we first brought her home. I went out every 10 min to pet her, then 15, 20, 30, gradually working up the time. I also set the alarm for 6am to let her out in the morning, gradually moving that forward until,she was on the same schedule as Diana and me. I promised her she would never go back to a shelter again. After a few months she finally believed me. She is truly her own dog now and it is lovely to see her be herself.

Our local animal control officer contacted my wife and I when she had a husky come into the pound bc we have experience with them and their kind of hyperness. We've had him nearly a year and we periodically meet up with her at a neutral place for Rock to make donations of different things for his other puppy pals who are there still. I won't take him back to the pound to meet up with her bc I don't want him to think we are getting rid of him or set off any of his trauma from the abuse he went through before we got him. (It was substantial from what animal control said)

They have their own personalities too just like humans do. Elsa has so much energy.

Elsa is beautiful. With the running and joy she shows when she was so close to being put down, I get why she’s a favorite.

Dogs are social and they love all the dogs and the space to run ; it is likely a shock when they get adopted and their new owners put them right back in crates, until they take them out on a leash. They should all be able to run around and socialize. Get 2 dogs, not just one ! and NO kennels !!!!!!! it is horrible to lock them up in a crate. All they do is get depressed.......

The three new dogs you rescued are absolutely gorgeous, and they are so lucky they found such a great shelter to Landon until they find their forever homes

So true my rescued boy Drakie just loves everyone so much! My golden retriever Enzo boy loves too but he is much more selective of who he gives his love too

I hope SO hard that your messages are heard. With internet, in 2023, i can't believe so many people still happily trot off to breeders when they KNOW how many amazing, gentle, confused dogs are being euthanized every single day. It just took me weeks to save one dog from a terrible facility, to finally find someone who had room and would foster him. Rescues are leaving dogs in even horrific boarding facilities because it's that, or not even pulling them before they're killed at the shelter. People are dumping dogs in droves, and nobody seems to be fostering or adopting. Where is the humanity? How can 10 million innocent dogs a year be euthanized in shelters and EVERYONE in society not be horrified enough to avidly promote and participate in rescue? Kills me. Every day, heartbreak.

I pray day & night for the animals throughout the world in shelters those that are being beaten to death in countries by allegedly policeman choking them to death instead of giving them a shot which I'm against anyway, healthy dog's. But I watched it at night and I was so angry that I couldn't sleep the entire night. This shows what a famous scholar said. "When you turn against animals, you turn against humanity" These are the innocent. These are God's creation to help us be more loving and forgiving This is so sick,cruel evil, wicked that I can barely think about it without falling apart or going into rage. I agree with you!!!

My fear is that whilst Lees message to rescue not buy is always spot on, he is preaching to the converted, i dont mean in a horrible way , but those of us that follow his channel arent ones that would ever buy, i do wonder if those people that do buy dogs will ever stop by and watch these videos, Lee and all his staff and all his supporters keep my dwindling faith in the goodness of humanity , flickering, I hope that all the good will eventually start to dilute all the evil

I am a Vet Tech/ country girl. I have been rescuing for 60+years l just spent well over $100 for my newest rescue. A 1&1/2 year old chihuahua/terrier name Trixie Jean. Rescue animals are so special and the BEST BREEDS!😊😊😊

So beautifully said about the love you have for them and vice versa. I have 2 AMAZING rescues: my 8 year old bulldog and my 7 month old pitty. Without a doubt I love them both equally, HOWEVER, I feel especially bonded to the puppy and feel like he loves me a little bit different than he loves everybody else. 💙💜

I get it. Our previous rescue, who we lost recently to cancer, for some reason loved my husband far more than me. I loved her, but didn't realize until our new rescue came to us that I could love a dog more (or differently?). This dog is constantly at my side, sleeps with me every night, and is just happy to be with me. During this morning's walk and play time I found myself thinking, I love this dog so much my heart hurts! Also, just to get the word out, she is a pit bull mix and is the sweetest dog ever--she snuggles with our cat.

It's easy to see why most dogs cherish you Lee

Almost four years ago we adopted an 8 year old boy that was going to be put down and a local group "Pets Alive" went to Kentucky and brought him up to New York State, long story short, we adopted him and couldn't be happier. I honestly believe he knows we saved him but in reality he saved us. 💓💓💓 I always look for the older cats and so glad I found an older "8 year old puppy!"

Being a parent, It isn't that you love one more, but you do love them differently. Every soul has a different personality, different likes, different dislikes you can't treat them all the same. It is like getting the same toy for each of your kids - each one wants different things. And as a parent you would give your life in a heartbeat for any of your kids

How can the local shelter put down healthy dogs? They’re no better than the people who abandon them.

OMG!!! I just Love you and your staff for saving these Beautiful Babies that are fixing to get killed. It breaks my heart that they can legally kill any animal just because humans get tired of these precious babies. The humans are the ones that need to go to Jail not the animals. Where did this law even come from?? Who decides who lives or dies? My Goodness.... God help these people change these horrible laws to favor animals and not the people that decide they want to get rid of those sweet babies that don't have a choice. I pray for Mercy 🙏💔

Government run county and city shelters are often poorly managed. They insist on every dog being alone in a kennel, instead of creating buddy group. They run out of space quickly and just go ahead and murder them to make room for more. We have a shelter system based on prison system that hasn't changed in 60 years. Everyone seems to accept that millions of healthy animals will be killed here in the US. The worst highest rate of any country in the world. Then we judge poor countries that have street animals. At least they have a right to exist. Here they don't.

Yes, we love our dogs equally but our dogs sometimes attach to one special person. It is a wonderful feeling❤

4 of 5 of mine were on the euth list, the one that wasn't, a poodle, was dying from Lyme disease at the end of a tieout. I pulled him from a very wealthy ladies house who had ordered him online from a puppy mill. She said they shipped him to her in a box and when she opened the box she just didn't like him. She'd had him for 8 months. He was still a pup and was covered in fleas and ticks. Animal neglect and abuse knows no social economic boundaries. All of my dogs are fantastic.They live peacefully together like brothers and sisters. I have two pitbulls, a poodle, a cockapoo, and a Norwegian elkhound who would all be dead if I hadn't taken the chance on them. They are included in the greatest loves of my life and the best companions a person could have. ❤

I've adopted 4 cats & a dog over the years. I wish your SPCA rules were the same as they are here in Kingston, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. We keep all animals for as long as it takes to find them their forever home as long as they're happy & healthy. No euthanasia unless absolutely necessary. 😊😊😊
