Maeve crossed the bridge a couple weeks ago; this has been extremely hard for Lee as she was his best friend, a daughter and sweet companion. May she run with all the other animals in heaven until they meet again.

I saw that too... I went to adopt a dog who had been abused and was scared of humans but when I went to her foster home, she ran to me and the foster parents said they never saw her do this before. I loved Misha for 15 years and now she is with my 4 other dogs till I see her again!

I love that scene when she ran to you and then she stared at you for 2 hours...she found her human! They are such incredible animals and we are blessed to bond with them.

She's just so precious Lee. What a bundle of love. I just learned she passed. 😿 I've never been same since losing my Rupert @8yrs. I never will get over it. Thank goodness you have others to help you. You're very special, don't ever change. 🕊️

I love that the guy kept her until he could find her a home that could give her the best care she needs! Lee is the perfect fit!

No, it looks like he kept her till it was obvious he couldn't get a bunch of very profitable litters out of her, then , when it became apparent that she wasn't gonna be able to be a living ATM, and with the cost of surgery around her hematoma in her ear, did the one slightly better thing, gave her up. Good on him for that, but this dog should never of had to go through any of this, except the end happy home.

@@lawrencelymanii6943 did you even watch the video? The guy Lee picked her up from was NOT THE ONE BREEDING HER. He even said she came in to the vet with complications and the original owners didn’t want her anymore since she couldn’t have more puppies, so he kept her until he could find a good home who could afford to care for her and get her the surgery needed.

@@lawrencelymanii6943 no. He was not the breeder. I think he said that he got her after she was taken to the vet and had to be spayed and the breeder didn't want her anymore. He can't afford the surgery on her ears. Lee said that he felt sorry for him because he didn't really want to give her up.

We need to have stronger laws that will stop puppy mills from doing this. Thank goodness the person that had her realized they could not provide the medical care she needed and gave her up so she would get what was best for her. It really bothered him which shows he cared for her more than his own wants and needs.

Couldn't agree with you more! I'm more than happy for stricter laws when it comes to animal welfare. One of my dogs was born 12 years ago in a puppy mill, right at the tail end when mall pet shops were dying out. Then dumped at 4 months old, malnourished and timid, which is where we came together. My other dog was surrendered by an official breeder last year, because they were really pushing Merle breeding and so 3 of the 6 pups in a litter were deaf or blind, or in my dogs case deaf and almost blind, and I fostered him through a dog rescue that rescues and finds homes for special needs dogs. That was a year ago and this boy is family and always will be. That's why I feel so strongly about strict laws and *definitely* stricter consequences. A lot of mills shut down where I live (Australia) when they made it illegal for their main customer, pet shops, to keep selling puppies, due partly to the mills being exposed publicly and nobody willing to give money to dog abusers, but partly also a lot of these stores also neglecting the puppies....so no decent people in this story!

@@obnoxiousbluebird6634 I don't know about Australia, but in America, especially about environmental and animal welfare issues, there's this "don't tell me what to do" and "I do what I want, it's my money" contingent. Many people cannot or will not grasp even slightly complex issues, aren't remotely interested in what's right or wrong, what damage they do to the earth, animals, other humans, and even themselves. To them, a dog is a thing, which makes enforcing laws difficult to enact, much less enforce.

He was acting like it really bothered him that he couldn't give her the medical care that she needs, puppy mill people use "sincerity" as part of their "sales pitch", he had made her pump out the puppies untill her body was ruined and then, when he can no longer use her for his own financial advantage, he uses the same "sincerity" that he used to sell her puppies and to make people believe he was providing her with altruistic care, to make it look like he is "regretfully" letting her go, he's a con, a liar, he isn't heartbroken at not being able to meet her medical needs, he's putting on an act to hide his resentment that she can't make money for him.

He "got rid" of her, he ruined her body through excessive continuous breeding and now that she is unable to produce marketable goods, he puts on his "sincere" act and gets rid of what she has now become, a mouth to feed that doesn't pay for itself, seriously, he doesn't love her, he never did.

It is heartbreaking. What a precious little soul. I am so thankful that she had an amazing year of absolute love and adoration. She was happy and knew she was loved. It doesn't make it any easier but I pray that you will eventually find comfort in the sweet memories of her most devoted love for you. I have known such loss and weep over my loss but I wouldn't trade the loss if it meant that I never rescued them at all. 😢 ❤

PomPoms has taken over as Maeves friend to make her feel welcome, loved, and relaxed. I loved when she put her head down in the car and stared at her new dad, imagining how wonderful life will be for her.

The way she was looking at you when you were singing to her. You can just tell how much Love she feels at that moment. She fits right in with the pack! A beautiful man with a beautiful sanctuary! You're the best.

I just saw the video about her passing and I had to come back and watch this again. RIP Maeve.

She ran right up to you knowing you were her savior. Thank you for giving her love, sharing your heart and home with her. I am sorry for your loss and know she is the essence of peace. She is with you always…

A few months ago we adopted a Frenchie who was a “mill mom”. She’s so full of love and we are so lucky to have her. She was turned over to a Frenchie rescue group after her purpose was done at the puppy mill. We can end this by adopting rescues; by contacting our legislators to pass laws forbidding the sale of puppy mill dogs at pet stores; by boycotting anything for sale from the Amish as they are responsible for the high number of abused dogs and are the main owners of puppy mills

I had not any idea about the Amish and breeding dogs. Until my daughter checked out a breed she was interested in adopting. She found mother and pups in the dark basement; never saw daylight. Then she asked how much play time with her kids the pups had and was told---NONE. Jean left without the puppy. She had driven 2 hours un the rain, on mountain roads to get there. Please be aware not all people are good breeders.

The Amish setup auctions for puppies from puppy mills. There are even billboards by the side of the freeway in Amish country. It makes my stomach twist.

She's beautiful. It was like she knew you were there to pick her up, Lee. That man who rescued her did well.

I am watching all of Maeve's videos after watching your video today, Lee. The way that she ran to you was amazing. She knew you were her man. She loved you immediately! Such a gorgeous dog. I always wanted a French Bulldog, but not from a breeder. Just never found the right rescue for me. So glad you did take and love Maeve throughout her entire life, you gave her the BEST! What a beautiful girl. She will be waiting to be with you again, Lee. There are just more rescues to be done before you are completed with your mission here on this earth. ❤

Remembering Maeve What a sweetheart of a dog who loved her Daddy who was the best person to come into her life. So sorry for your loss, but I know you will keep doing what you do for the dogs you have and who you will rescue in the future which is the best way to Honor Maeve’s memory.

She's looking at you thinking, "He's so damn cute! So cute!" She's been in a cage for most of her life, you can tell because the only muscles she has built up are in her front half from only sitting up, not standing. She's going to be so happy now, and the man that gave her to you is a wonderful human being too!

He’s always so great about telling the stories about the dogs especially about the male big dogs. You can see his softer/melty/mushy side (very sexy in a man btw) he should do the adventures of the those two little ladies on the farm, I’d LOVE it.💜

I watched that video again and again cause this rescue was so special. She knew you would save her and even it was a long time she was with you it was the time of her life. Like they say, "It takes a village." In this case, rescuing each new pup takes the pack village. The pack understands because they have been there where each new dog has been that ends up at The Asher House. Lucky girl. I can't wait to hear how her surgeries go. I hope they can do something for her breathing - it's such a basic need to be healthy.

Watching this after seeing your post about her death has me bawling. She was a beautiful spirit who will live on through your love and work. Peace and joy to you, lovely Maeve.

I came back to this video after Maeve's passing. Lee, you made this soul happy, secure, accepted. Maybe your journey together this time was short. But it was so meaningful and full of love that she didn't need more so she could move on. I believe that we are all traveling through different lives, forms of existence. Maeve was and will be there for you again and again. Don't be sad. She'll come to you again in a different disguise. Thanks for sharing your precious moments with her. I wish you the best.

She is such a sweetheart. You can tell she is a special soul. I am already in love with her. It breaks my heart that she is no longer physically by your side. But I know she is near you. The knowledge that one day you will be reunited with Maeve and all your babies is the light at the end of the tunnel. Praying for you Lee.

I live on a very limited income, but I was so moved by Maeve and her charm throughout her time with Lee that I made a donation in her memory. I wish I could afford to donate monthly, but sadly, I run behind on bills as it is. Tommy is another favorite of mine, but I love them all. Thank you for sharing Maeves life with us.
