Farmers and Ranchers are inundated with feral hogs and the problem is only getting worse. AR15 in 6.8 spc II and the Pulsar Trail XP50 thermal scope.

This channel is dedicated to hunting at night with Night Vision and Thermal.
Feral hogs do millions of dollars in damage a year. Farmers and ranchers need all the help they can get. In Texas, we have the ability to hog hunt at whatever means necessary to help control the population. Hog hunting, coyote hunting, and other predator hunting is what we spend a majority of our time on. The footage you see is from out actual footage from the hunters perspective. Sit back and watch us hunt some wild boar.

as close as the hogs are in some of these videos, I'm surprised there aren't more double kills - probably the distance and specific rounds used... what they need is a bracket of 3 fired nearly simultaneously as they pan across a group...

Maybe not so far fetched an idea - maybe they could do that, render the results and make renewable diesel from the fats ? When I was a kid growing up in SE Idaho we had diseased jack rabbit infestations - you could see entire fields move like a wave... just after I moved to a city about 40 miles away, they had a huge round up that was coordinated - they set miles of snow fence (wooden slats with wire runs perpendicular to them) so as to create a huge funnel... dug a big ditch and on a concerted gathering - drove them all down that funnel and into the pit where they had some gas to kill them - I think it was gasoline engine exhaust or diesel. Not sure if they incinerated them or just buried the dead. 10's of thousands in one action. They ran in cycles like that - they'd eat underneath hay stacks and spoil it so the cattle etc wouldn't eat it. Huge $$ losses.

They had lean meat and no wild taste. He said they had more bacon, sausage, pork chops and spare ribs than they could handle. If there is not enough rain to keep the hogs fed the sows will eat their young.

Agricultural pest Feral pigs cause significant problems for Australian farmers and primary producers because they: Compete with livestock for pasture and access to water. Graze grasses and ground covers Damage fruit (such as banana's) and vegetable crops Damage grain crops, nuts and sugar cane Prey on newborn lambs and scavenge around livestock. Foul water sources, bore drains and irrigation infrastructure. Cause soil erosion by digging and ripping up soil which can reduce the productive capacity of farmland. Promote the colonisation and spread of agricultural weeds in farmland. Damage fences and farm infrastructure. Carry diseases of livestock and a human health risk (eg Leptospirosis). Present a serious risk of exotic diseases (such as Foot-and-Mouth Disease) if introduced to Australia. Threaten food security for Australians. Require ongoing expenditure through control and addressing the problems they cause (eg. fence repair)

Seeing the opening shots of this story makes me think of the stories of the Old West, about herds of buffalo stretching as far as the eye could see. The only difference being ofc is that THIS herd is a plague similar to locusts, whereas buffalo were seen as a food/materials source (no matter what anyone might think about the fate of the buffalo). Unfortunately, it's not as easy to wipe out this herd as it was with the buffalo

Just a strategic idea (may not be realistic): If you're from South facing North (say for example) towards the treeline for your shooting, it might have been good to set up some remote control black powder explosives (small -- like M-80 size) in the treeline. Then you could explode them before you begin shooting and drive the hogs to the South towards you so they would run right into your shooting range. Small black powder charges with e-matches and 9-volt batteries could work. Just 5 or 10 of them on a simple radio transmitter so the explosion drives the hogs your way.

MUST READ 😁 This was sum BOB LEE SWAGGER type shooting👍💪 He hit 3 continuous targets moving to his left at 3 different distances/speeds/trajectories. That's like a QB(right handed) rolling out left and hitting his WR on the move in stride on the money, while throwing across his body. Times 3 Great shooting!💪

Hogs are a little easier to hit with the mass of their body. Use the sides of the cross hairs to hold a line even with the body of the animal and lead. Sounds easy but when adrenalines rushing and they are scattering it’s hard to get everything to line up.

With such a target-rich environment, you need several 40-rd. mags taped back to back and just throw as much lead downrange as possible in the shortest amount of time available! Aimed shots at running targets at that range is strictly by guess and by golly! The more rounds you can pitch at them the better your odds.
