** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs in Texas attacked and killed a woman outside a home: • Caretaker attacked, ki...
From Vice News:
“Legit question for rural Americans,” Twitter user William McNabb asked in August in response to a question about assault weapon use, “How do I kill the 30-50 feral hogs that run into my yard within 3-5 mins while my small kids play?”
The internet shortly exploded with feral hogs and the oddly specific invasion of 30 to 50 hogs became a viral internet meme. What started as a debate around one of America’s most polarizing topics - assault weapons - became many people’s introduction to a very different problem: Feral hogs are one of the most destructive invasive species in the U.S.
And Texans, in particular, come face-to-face with a lot more than 30 to 50 feral hogs, but it's no laughing matter. That's why they're dealing with the crisis in a very Texas way, Helicopter Hunting.

Gotta take em down before they take down the Texas ecological system. Hogs have no natural predators in Texas, so they destroy wildlife habitats as well as farmland. Highly invasive species that breeds quicker than we can put them down. Depending on the company or person they may or may not collect the meat and send it for processing.

What you see here is common, we live in Cherokee County, East Texas and have seen groups of hogs like shown in these video's many times, In South Arkansas they are herds, groups of Hogs, they call them Razor Backs, that count into 200 to over 300 all milling about eating in one place they are eating breeding machines, Arkansas has had serious problems with them for years and now in Southern Oklahoma Feral Hogs are straight up out of control, we saw a group of about 50 we were out Metal Detecting and they went running right past us in Oklahoma.
Can you use silencer for your rifle so you can shoot more before the herd spread away? Is it any different result with or w/o silencer?
Hello a quick question. What do you do with the corpse of the animals after shooting them? Surely, too much to eat and you can't sell them either. if you donate them, carrying and transporting them will cost a lot. And if you leave on ground it will cause a lot of dirt. What is the practical solution? Any opinion
The zoom at 3:17 made me fucking die of laughter idk why 😂😂😂😂

Surid Akhand: I did -- presuming every one of these dead pigs can and will be sold off to a meat packing house and will be food. With that in mind, considering these pigs are pests to the farmers, I can see making a sideline out of shooting them. transporting and selling them. Lots of fun -- and profitable. Too bad I'm a tired old New Jersey guy. If I were younger and lived in Texas I wouldn't hesitate buying a .308 Remington, a night scope, a good used truck, and becoming the Tom Horn of the pig-killers. After along day of work,I have to watch my nightly Thermal hog kill vids.
Not sure what your state's regulations are, but I'm guessing if you could use a suppressor on your rifle, you'd probably have more opportunity to take down the other ones. I've got to do my fair share of hog hunting in TX with thermals and it's quite an experience. From your description, I see you're using 308. The times I've hunted, I've used the 5.56 and it's very difficult. Would love to go with a beefier solution next time.

Troy Harris Good mercy!!! My friend became a citizen after coming here illegal under Bill Clinton. He still thinks it's a race issue I guess it makes him feel superior in argument. Illegal has nothing to do with skin color.
Good job. Would silencers keep the others from running? Is the meat edible?
Hi guys I enjoy watching this the marksman are very good keep it up guys
Very nice shooting video and I like how he tries to come back to a wounded hog, and nicely puts it down without letting it suffer. That is how you do it. No need to let any animal suffer.
Great shooting, I could watch this stuff all day long!

+Phillip Mejia Thanks for watching!
Do you ever use a silencer? Are they legal in Texas?
Could there be a way of recuperating the carcasses to process as pet food or at least fertilizer. ?

Yes for sure, in some places the meat can be donated, given to meat processors, for human food as well as dog and cat food,
This is the best 9:34 min I ever spent watching a video on KZread ❤️
When I get angry.I watch this guy's video I calm down.I quite enjoy the final squeegee screen noise of these beats.
Dude, more than 25 kills, call in a nuke
It seems like that for every one shot there are a dozen running away. Is there any way to ever get ahead of this problem?

Perhaps it’s time that Texas declare war against the feral hogs 😉

Not all vegans are animal activists. I know people who are vegans just for the health or weightloss reasons. They don't care about animal rights thing.
This is so satisfying!!! There’s so many of them in Florida, too. Get rid of these damn invasive species.

too bad you can't use a combo automatic/single shot rifle. Are the piglets able to survive without their mother ?

@Under the Surface I would be way more scared of hogs then a farmer or even farmers hunting hogs
What do you do when all killed do you take to butchers or land owner or dump them
This is awesome and now I wish I’m back in Texas. I got a few questions though if you don’t mind. 1) what do you do with the meat? 2) you can’t shoot the piglets?

Sell, donate, and eat the meat. You can shoot all of em
If I ever had property with that many hogs on it I would have a team of at least 30 people with spotters firing all at once coordinated and get all of them

Some people think the guys with the rifles has the advantage here clearly not the guys can shoot thousands of rounds a night and still wouldn't make a difference
Who would've thought that my favorite video on u tube would be about wild hogs getting shot? But here I am.
In my experience, if you start shooting them from the back of the group and work your way to the front, they don’t panic and scatter as much. Looks like you got plenty of tenderloin!
