So happy to hear you got trekking poles. I haven't watched in a while. Too busy planning a 5 month trip to Alaska, and going! I used trekking poles all the time at the beginning of the trip. I noted, however, that the first time I walked in Seward, I needed them. By August, I walked through the town and realized I wasn't using them! Sadly, I am back home and my fitness has degenerated again. Too much to clean, pick up, fix etc. I really love the simplicity of the road!

I would pay for a State Park or National, County or City park any day over boondocking. Unfortunately, those places are often impossible to get into without reservations months in advance. What a great context video! East coast is going to be challenging to find cheap camping sites. I would recommend going on I-81 North through Pennsylvania. That’s the truck route for the most part. The Skyline Drive is breathtaking when you get up over 3500 feet in the mountains. There are scenic overlooks where you can stop safely. The I-95 North is a blood nightmare!! Don’t go through NYC. Go over the Tappan Zee Bridge ( maybe called Andrew Cuomo Bridge) Toll bridge I believe.

I am a disabled senior traveling in my wheelchair 2010 dodge grand caravan. I am heading to Pennsylvania, June 2 from Palestine Texas. My challenge is my sister-in-law and one possibly two grandsons and my five Chihuahuas will be traveling with me. When it is just me, I can sleep in the van however, there is not room to sleep three or four people in my van. And financially, I cannot afford Campground’s every night so I have been looking for dispersed, camping along my route, and I am not finding much at all. The dispersed camping I found in Pennsylvania you still have to reserve and pay. ❤️👍🏻🚐 Safe Travels! JeffeysMom

@@JeffeysMom Can you set it up so they all sleep in the tent and you sleep in the vehicle? Seems like that might be easier for you. Or maybe someone knows of a portable wheelchair ramp for the tent? Would laying a tarp or those foam floor pads down on the tent floor help with wheelchair maneuverability? The floor pads could go before the opening, too. I wonder if wheel chocks or levelers might work as a ramp over the tent lip?
Beautiful! That farm and the mountains looked like the old home place! Great info on staying overnight. I just can't stay at truck stops...I've seen the ugly that happens at some of them.
