Hi Will. The BB and SB have no gears so there is no motor sound. It is only the 219 chain that makes noice. I think the SB is a very good alternative to the X1 Pro. You know the SB and BB have the same diameter?
Would you recommend doing a build like this with an Eleek Lite frame? I’m trying to see what would be a more robust option for both commute and off-road/jumping. A strong mountain bike or the Eleek which is made of steel. Your bike looks AMAZING! I wish I could just buy it from you😂❤ looks like the perfect balance between power and light weight! 👌 👌

The swingarm pivot is thin plates. I love the look of the Lite, but it is a SUV not a mx.

Hi, the BB works well with Asi 2000. In the video I pull 190Amps when the field weakening kicks in. Usually a bms can peak 2x cont power. So it is a big chance it will be ok if the cells can deliver that much.
Is it possible to do a build exactly like this, but throw on 21” wheels for more hybrid commute/off road and city use? I would also use smaller cranks to be safe if so. Thank you. Awesome video! Ps. Just curious, what would be your range per charge if you averaged 48kph with this set up? Sounds so smooth!

@@nielsbaardseth do you know what your average range per charge would be if you kept it at 48kph? And thank you, that’s Interesting! I only ask because I know SurRon runs 19” stock and still seems to have a decent clearance, however it was built around that idea and I imagine this bike frame’s geometry is designed around taller wheels/tires. I know Shinko 241 and 244 tires have a higher inner wall though which would add to the overall circumference, but I guess I should ask around a bit more 😅 thank you for the reply!

@@dexgray4581 I see, you mean 21" mc wheels. 🤔 Should not be a problem. 20" bicycle wheels are a bit different. 🤣 I only use the bike off road riding as hard as I dare. Average wh is 40 a km. But cruising at 50kph would not use much wh. It is only 50% of a SR in weight.

Hey how is your Saracen holding up to power of the big block? A few of us over at Discord High Voltage are trying to sort out the good from the bad in terms of downhill and long travel bikes when it comes to adding more power. Particularly in regards to the swing arm coping. It seems we come to some kind on initial consensus of the suitability of a bike then someone pops in and tells us they know someone who busted the swing arm on "that" model with a BBSHD. etc and we are back to the drawing board. . What I like about your bike is firstly the look, the suspension, the battery placement, err actually just about everything. Keenly await your response thanks 👍

How does this motor compare to cyc x1 ? What do you prefer?

Hi, it is 2x in practical power. But bigger. Here in Spain the BB is best because of big open spaces. Back home in Oslo I rode techy single track. The cyc was better there because of size and enough power.
Btw why doesnt the rear hub have like a multi speed cassette?

No need, extreme torque and 80kph with 1 gear. Covers all types of off road riding . And most important, none of them would last that kind of power. Trust me, this set up is the only type that can be called bulletproof. My chain lasts 500km.

Thanks for the fast reply. That is an interesting solution. I know the pain of trying to find robust and reliable drivetrain solutions for hi power eMTB applications. It is very niche area. There are alot of hi power e bikes getting around now. But in the eMTB specific trail/enduro space it's difficult. I went through a number of unreliable drivetrain configs. And that's with about 15% power of what your bike has. I eventually landed on a kindernay vii IGH. Which has had alot of minor problems, but has remained overall reliable so far. Im now looking to go 72v CYC on an upcoming build. I did just purchase one of the last remaining kindernay vii from the post bankruptcy inventory. But that was more so I can keep the current bafang ultra / e22 combo alive incase of parts failures. I dont need 7 gears. I really only need 3 gears, with wide ratio pacing. A climb gear. An acceleration gear. And a top speed gear. And that pretty much covers all the trail/enduro terrain i ride.

Ok, i understand. How do you find not having changeable gearing specifc while doing eMTB trail riding use? I can imagine the motor has no major issues pulling all the way. But human legs don't have that same wide operating range. I know I hate the feeling of my bike travelling faster than I can pedal (eg stuck in too low gear) and equally climbing can be hard when not matched to the pedalling speed (even if the motor has no problem pulling) I came here after watching your recent CYC at Malaga video. So this Q is more relevant to that setup.
