Are you using the BAC 8000 or 4000? Did you have difficulty pairing the controller with the motor? and what max continuous wattage can you use?
@nielsbaardseth

It is a Nucular 12f. Super easy to set up. If I would go with Asi then High Voltage have the software for Lightning Rods. A 4000 would be a great fit. Not sure about the cont watts. It peaks 10kw and both motor and controller is luke warm.
what is the voltage and Amps of the battery? Is it a Lightning Rods Big Block Single Stage? What type of controllers did you use? would you send me multiple clear pictures from the motor from different angles?

72v 15ah Vtc6 pack with bypassed outgoing bms. Theoretical 300 amp peack, but about 200 real. Yes, LR Big Block Single Stage with Nucular 12f controller. It is maxed out, a 24f or Asi 4000 would be optimum.
That's sick! Btw why didn't u use the original multi speed cassette? You could have a consistent acceleration I think while properly shifting the gears.

A normal cassette and hub will not last many meters with this power.

@Niels Baardseth wdym exactly? How thick is you're 2 speed cassette? Plus the other mid drive motors have like 100 nm of torque and I think are designed to be used with a cassette so is there any way?

@@nielsbaardseth I've also heard there are hardened steel cassettes for ebikes what about those?

@@republicofvegans712 a normal emtb has 250w and it is made special cassettes for those now. A 11000w motor with a throttle is a very different animal.

@@nielsbaardseth you mean they use hardened steel?
Fantastic power! Which exact battery spec do you use? Which controller? Thanks!!

Thanks, yes it is pretty wild. The battery is a 72v 15ah vtc6 pack with bypassed output bms. Controller is Nucular 12f. All settings on max, except field weakening. Now it is seemless at 100A, can go to 250.....😎

@@TechGoop Thanks! I am recovering from a Achilles tendon tear so it is not possible to do real off road atm. But the bike is more or less like a full mx. Saracen Myst 2015 with Fox 40 and Dhx2.
What made you switch to the lighting rods motor over the x1 pro? Is the x1 pro reliable enough to sustain moderate periods of high usage? Any info is beneficial. Thanks

I have ridden the X1 hard for several years, but because I use a single speed setup there is a limitation to the gearing. The BB has in practical use 2x the power and can have a much wider range. I used to ride techy single tracks with the X1 and it was perfect for it. Now with the change of location the BB is a better choice. I use Cyc Stealth for the techy trials now pas only. If you don't go for max on all settings the X1 will last a long time.

@@nielsbaardseth Have you ever tried or know of a 6 speed system or greater that can handle 5000w without skipping after a few months of moderate riding?
@nielsbaardseth
Жыл бұрын
@@CHAD-pj8rx The 6 speed chain and cassette is good, the challenge is the hub. DT Swiss 18t ratchet is very strong, so is RaceFace. If you go hard off road and when the rear wheel bounces the load on the parts is extreme. For road, really no problem. You only need 2-3 gears for the X1 and Asi 2000 or Cyc controller.
