I've not ran into one of those KIKs-but that's good to know! It's good to see you back again!!!!

These are pretty common in my area, the box stores sell these and customers who buy a bunch for their homes want them all keyed alike. It's not as common as coming across a Kwikset or Defiant, but it's up there lol

@@LockandKilo last week I had to do a KIK for the first time in awhile and of course, it blew up on me and I had to rebuild it. The shim would have saved me that trouble. Thanks again, I’ll remember that tip in the future.

@@NateGodin77 I remember the first time I did that at a clients house lol, it was 114 degrees and my first week out solo. I had rekeyed 12 locks and my hands were soaked from sweat, they ran down to ask for something and I just pulled the plug and all the pins went flying haha At the time it sucked, but looking back now it was pretty funny.

Those top pins and springs are different as well. If you use a follower that has the recess to check for master pins be careful because it might dump the top pins which can be a pia🤣. Thanks for sharing.

I despise that "master follower" haha... it never works out for me in the real world.

If you file that notch on the brass one about 3/16 it fits perfectly over.

what was weird for me at first dealing with these F Series, you have to pick the lock or have a key in order to get the cylinder out of the knob- not sure about levers but knobs I had to pick them over and turn the cylinder, then i was able to remove the cylinder form the knob

yeah, with many Schlage locks you need the physical key or to pick the lock. Some models you can remove the knob and manually depress it and remove the core with a lock pick or small screwdriver.

Hey Kilo, not sure if Outlaw Locksmith is one of your alt accounts but there was just a video posted there called “Rekey Schlage F-Series with Standard Plug Follower” which looks an awful lot like this video-except the place at the beginning where you say “this is Kilo” has been removed. They turned comments off so I couldn’t ask on that video but thought you should know in case it’s not you.
