    There aren't many so it will be repetitive, it will always be those 2 or 3 14th century battles against a hugely divided and weakened small French kingdom with the great plague in the mix, even though the French monarchy ultimately won the war at the important battles of Patay, Formigny, Castillon etc.. You can't really cover anything before because the French decisively won the Anglo-French wars of the 12-13th century culminating at the battle of Bouvines, the most significant battle in Western Europe during that century. Wont be possible to go before as well since 1066 is when French troops from Normandy, Britanny, Flanders, Anjou etc.. invaded and defeated the English king. Won't be possible after the 14th century too since France was the strongest army in Europe in the 17th-18th century up until the early 19th century and helped liberate America from Britain. You ll have to settle for Wellington isolated successes against exhausted troops forced marched to face the Spanish guerilla or rehash the same old Agincourt, Crecy and Poitiers all over again despite them being pointless in light of what happened after in that war. Or else only cover naval battles perhaps.

    The issue Total war always has is balance. In real life you don't have to worry about that, but in a game, it would be really annoying if a handful of people could hold off an army, or if your whole nation's army could be defeated by some archers and a bog. I think balancing archers is the thing they've struggled with the most, but in real life a siege would more often than not either go on for days with very little happening, or be over in one swift move.

  • @leanderr.karlsen9275
    @leanderr.karlsen92752 жыл бұрын

    wedge formation is used to lead a cav or infantry charge and to break through formations as all the force of the charge is focused on one point. In the game you also gain better attack against both cav and infantry, but missile block is reduced. So it's more historical to use wedge and better game wise

    40kg?? Do you mean pounds? Medieval armour is like 50-60 lbs at the heaviest and it would be spread across your body. Modern soldiers actually have to carry more weight than they did. This isn't to say armour weighed nothing, it does tire you quicker but you are able to move pretty damn fast in the stuff especially if you have trained in it.

    "eventually the Archers will run out of ammo, they can't kill everyone" - Laughs in Agincourt On a more serious note, In terms of knights at that period, the English actually specialised more on foot combat than most other knights at the time. The norm was for knights to be mounted, but the English in general preferred to fight on foot, likely because in general a larger proportion of their armies where archers than most nations, and so they preferred to fight defensively using the arrow cover to level the field. This meant that English armour generally gave better all around coverage, as they didn't have to worry as much about manoeuvring to fight whilst mounted. They also preferred open faced helmets, presumably because they faced less threat from opposing archers, and felt safer prioritising visibility and ventilation. Finally, there are less depictions of them wearing padded surcoats (jupon) over their armour, where as it was fairly standard for French knights. As well as dampening some blows from heavy weapons, it's been found that it would stop a lot of dangerous splintering and deflections from arrows which is likely why the French made more use of them than the English.

The cook then in anger just went to the kitchen and randomly put some tomatoes and a lettuce along with meat in between the breads and gave it to the Lord and the lord surprisingly liked it and since it was made on a island called sand witch it was given the name sandwich.

    @@axldlimas7554 you can buy them on sale, they get ridiculously cheap then. Also sign up for any total War beta game testing that you can and play them little no matter how mundane they feel. I have gotten Medieval 2 and 3 Kingdoms as free gifts from CA just because I signed up for their total war beta testing games.

    Famous English knights: King Arthur, Lancelot, Richard III, Henry V, The Black Prince, Edward I, Edward III, to name a few! Famous french knights: Joan of ark? The only thing french knights are famous for is getting slaughtered at Agincourt! Enough said!

    "O for a Muse of fire, that would ascend The brightest heaven of invention, A kingdom for a stage, princes to act And monarchs to behold the swelling scene! Then should the warlike Harry, like himself, Assume the port of Mars; and at his heels, Leash'd in like hounds, should famine, sword and fire Crouch for employment. But pardon, and gentles all, The flat unraised spirits that have dared On this unworthy scaffold to bring forth So great an object: can this cockpit hold The vasty fields of France? or may we cram Within this wooden O the very casques That did affright the air at Agincourt? O, pardon! since a crooked figure may Attest in little place a million; And let us, ciphers to this great accompt, On your imaginary forces work. Suppose within the girdle of these walls Are now confined two mighty monarchies, Whose high upreared and abutting fronts The perilous narrow ocean parts asunder: Piece out our imperfections with your thoughts; Into a thousand parts divide on man, And make imaginary puissance; Think when we talk of horses, that you see them Printing their proud hoofs i' the receiving earth; For 'tis your thoughts that now must deck our kings, Carry them here and there; jumping o'er times, Turning the accomplishment of many years Into an hour-glass: for the which supply, Admit me Chorus to this history; Who prologue-like your humble patience pray, Gently to hear, kindly to judge, our play." -Chorus, Henry V, prologue
