In English, nouns are often accompanied by the word “the”. In Dutch, there are two words for “the”: “De” and “Het”. Most nouns are "de" nouns, but a few use “het”. The reasons why each word is “de” or “het” are somewhat arbitrary, so it’s best to use a list to memorize them. There are some translation words in the néerlandais language when i go back to the Google translation 11:16 Ruler (English) = Liniaal (Néerlandais) = Herrscher (Dutsh)

Amazing, isn't it? That's because Dutch belongs to the same language family called Germanic Languages. This makes it much easier to learn if you already speak either English or German. :)
Keep doing.
Besides Dutch, I wish I could also learn German. Although I do know a lot of words in those two languages.

thats because afrikaans is a mix between dutch and a bit of german, because of the colonialists back in the 19th and 20th century
