Many of the words selected are not among the most practically useful. But even so, they help with getting some feeling for the pronanciation. I will learn them, with that very nice pronunciation. I had one year of school French 60 years ago. Compleatly forgotten now, of course. And we never learned that elegant pronunciation. Although I have realized that learning individual words isn't the best way to learn a language. I want to learn entire phrases! But single words is a start for getting the sounds of the language right.

Many of these English words are often accompanied by the word "the". The same is true in French, however there are multiple different words for "the". The French definite articles are "le", "la", "l'", and "les". The choice among these depends on the gender of the noun that follows (masculine or feminine), its number (singular or plural), and sometimes the first letter of the noun (whether it starts with a vowel or a consonant). "Le": Used before masculine singular nouns. Example: Le livre (The book) "La": Used before feminine singular nouns. Example: La pomme (The apple) "L'": Used before singular nouns starting with a vowel or silent 'h', regardless of gender. Example: L'orange (The orange) "Les": Used for plural nouns, regardless of gender. Example: Les chats (The cats) Here is a list of words from the video with their singular articles: L'année La semaine Le jour La nuit Le monde La vie La voiture Le train Le tracteur Le bus L'avion Le bateau La motocyclette Le vélo L'hélicoptère L'hiver L'automne Le printemps L'été La mère Le père Le frère La soeur La grand-mère Le grand-père L'homme La femme L'ami (for a male friend) L'amie (for a female friend) Le chien Le chat Le cheval Le tigre L'ours Le lion Le singe L'éléphant La tortue Le requin La pomme La banane La mangue L'orange La poire L'ananas La pastèque Le brocoli La carotte Le concombre La laitue L'oignon La tomate Le crayon La gomme Le surligneur La règle Le cahier Le sac à dos Les ciseaux L'agrafeuse La calculatrice Le lit La chaise Le bureau Le réfrigérateur Le micro-ondes La cuillère La fourchette Le couteau

French is tricky but I like it. For me , the easiest , toink , it is English still anyway is , how Australians say the English language. So , for the English language , there is this American English , British English and the Aussie thing , adding this up , just remembered what my Father taught me.

True! When learning words we should learn it with the article. But this video will help me get the pronunciation right. And that's a much more difficult thing! I copied a comment listing all the words with their articles. When I think I have the pronunciation right, I will use that for training pronuncing them myself!
