My wife and I have greatly enjoyed the Coffee show. and it has inspired her to try carving . so I have started slowly adding to her kit and setting her up her own carving area in her sunroom! We plan on going back and rewatching the series now she understands more what was being talked about . THANK YOU both !! We cant see what you guys do next!

Certainly going to miss the show, but understand you guys have a lot going on. I'm sure everyone would love it if you stopped in once a month/quarter just to share what's new. Funny story about the kitchen sink... when my wife and I bought our first house we gutted the kitchen and were having cabinets made. It was going to be a few weeks, so we cut the old sink, plus about 3" of counter top on each side, and set it up on saw horses until our cabinets were ready. It served the purpose, and that's what matters.

Gone to miss ya. Your teachings and chats inspired me and several of my Scouts as I would always bring my Helvie and whittle/carve and stick I find as we sat around campfire. Keep on making wood-chips and would love to see more 1x1 - 2x2 projects. You both have a great way of teaching. Many thanks

I've noticed a pattern in carvers getting burned out and needing to focus on other things, when they carve a lot of the same things. Doug practices a lot of his carvings before making a tutorial and carves quite a few little 1 inch guys in preparation for that. He's about the 4th or 5th carver I've seen in the last couple of years that's almost given up, and in each case they're carvers who make multiple carvings of similar things. I think variation (and taking breaks) is important to carving.

Naw, he obviously loves carving. I would guess it’s more to do with content creation. It’s very high effort and sacrifice with very little reward. People are entitled and unappreciative as you’ll see in other comments. Creating content sucks the fun out of the actual work/hobby.

Doug, I began watching you when Joe Robinet was camping in the woods near his moms house; you came up in my queue. Later Scrambled O got the gift of an axe from you. Joe said on his channel that he had met you and was going to do trips with you. I watched them. I watched you and Sophie doing crafts and I watched you all at Shawns when Joe topped a million subs and when you built the native hogan. You were the one that I always told my wife I enjoyed the most of the crew. Carving boosted you to the next level; your true personality came out on C and C. I am bummed that you are ending C and C and are away from YT. Sigh Alec, I was introed to you by Doug who said that he was going to be doing C and C with you 100 videos ago. I admire you because 50 years ago my wife and I talked about buying a seaside cottage in Maine so I could do silver work and she paint. We never did it. I love your carving and I watch you living your life vicariously every week. I will miss you.

he's taking a long break from youtube, to focus on a few other things... think he's gotten burned out and the channel isn't growing as much considering how much work he puts in. They talked it about it on the previous episode of this show.

Quite the accomplishment. Been considering doing videos for a decade but never had the motivation to get it going. I now am a dinosaur in the carving community and probably missed the boat. Anyone interested in a follow may boost my direction. I have been a hand carver and knife carver and progressed through rotary and electric tools and now mostly chainsaw carve .

Alec, you need to be yourself and not put on a polish for students. Professionals just have a professional mess. A busy work isn't a neat shop. Be real, they will enjoy you more and you'll feel better. My shop is only neat in the moment between projects. I will miss you guys and I'll look forward. Thank you both.
