My Grandfather caught a massive Pike in Canada back in the 1950s. Over 40 inches or so I think. He had it mounted and it was at our family cottage for years. When the cottage was torn down an remodeled it was put in storage. It currently resides in my brothers basement bar. It’s my dream to catch one of these magnificent beasts! Maybe mount it myself. Not sure about that.

Great stuff love to watch it just before a session 😉

Amazing footage, and really enjoyed the slow motion! I didn't realize it before seeing this but, if you look carefully, just before they lunge, they arrange their bodies into a classic "S" shape, like a snake. Probably just my own fascination with evolution that makes it cool to me, but still amazing to see

Wow look at 2:05 the pike is moving exactly like the bait

Now this is something I didn’t know I wanted. I am buying this camera for sure now. I bet it’s too heavy for the light setups I like to use, but man, I just want some footage

Those fish are heavy! yesterday I was fishing for sunfish and I accidentally caught a small pike, it still weighed like 10 pounds.

Imagine being a little perch - looking behind you and seeing a big mean lookin pike, so close you can only see one of it’s eyes - waiting for you to move a millimeter so it can swallow you with it’s death trap

Wow , this is the most amazing footage of what the Pike sees as it stalks the lure then attacks . I gotta say these newer plastic swim baits are so real looking & with such great action it must be a blast to fish them . We here in MD don't have much in the way of huge Pike & Muskies which sucks but that's the way it goes . I spent two weeks in Itasca County in Minnesota some years back & we really only had Daredevil Spoons in silver & yellow with red diamond patterns & we caught lots of great Pike but nothing i would call a monster but they are there . Thanks for sharing this fascinating look at the world under the surface & for anything not a top predator i feel sorry for them but then again they never knew what hit them . I was looking at a clip of these baits from Japan that are segmented plastic & they are so life like it's scary real & some that have plastic Pike heads & some type of hair like a fly rod lure & they are huge but weigh zilch & some awesome action to them.

Very smart move from westin to put their logo on the top of the bait like that. They do make great lures, incredible lures you could even say but it appears they’re equally skilled in marketing. I have the Swim 12cm, Mike the pike, Ricky the roach, Freddy the frog and the ShadTeez 7cm, love them all.

@@PUMPKNOWSFISHING the 20cm trout n the 18cm roach are great casting lures... the 25cm ones are just about castable on the heavy rod... 30cm and bigger are defo trolling lures... Irish pike love em 👍

How deep were you trolling and what was the water Temps? I'm gonna try trolling for pike this weeks. Your tips would help me out thanks for this vid

Hiero Malo blue gill have spines but they only have a blue spot by there gills hence the name other panfish might be more blue tho

Ill tell you pike are ferocious ..ive been going to Canada fishing for 35 years fishing one my best fishing memories is with my dad the lake we were fishing wasnt doing much but at the entrance of the road to the lodge across the highway were ponds bigger than what you would call a pond in the US that being said the old man asked about them the lodge owners said they were pike ponds nothing but perch and northern see in as the fishing sucked on the Lake the lodge was on the old man rented a canoe from them we caught pike up to 12 lbs it was a blast been hooked ever since i was 12 at the time im 66 now ..

This tells me hardbaits should be fished very slow, almost all the takes where when the bait had very little action
