10 Deadliest US Cities in 2023

10 Deadliest Cities in America. 2023
Are you looking for a new city and don’t want to be murdered? I think that is a yes for anyone looking to move. It is like you Google, Traffic, Home prices, good school, oh and I don’t want to be murdered in the parking lot of a vacant Kmart trying to fix a flat tire.
Seeing that is something 99.9% of you don’t want to happen, I thought I would look at the deadliest cities in the US going into 2023.
I looked up cities with the highest violent crime and picked the 10 that are trending higher over the last 3 years.
Whenever I do a video like this we get people thinking I didn’t include some cities. They accuse me of skipping them. I’m not skipping them. The stats just don’t match whatever news outlet you are addicted to. As an example. Like I have said before Chicago is a perfect example.

Could you do a Most Dangerous Small Towns? I'm curious if my old hometown of Anniston (AKA Anustown) AL will still show up. There were several years it was the murder capital of the US, per capita. We had rampant gang activity, as well as two serial killers operating at the same time. The economy there has cratered int eh last twenty years, and I don't live there, anymore, but I still have a fascination. Great channel, Mr. Briggs.

It's not the suburbs of Detroit that are bad, it's the neighborhoods within the city outside of downtown is the major problem. I was born and raised there and survived, then I moved out to the burbs. Don't get me wrong, there are a few suburban cities that are getting bad but nothing compared with the D. Yesterday, they had a memorial for all of the children (17 and under) that have died due to gun violence to date. Whether it was directly, indirectly or accident. Seriously heart rendering to see. Briggs, that might be a plug for your next video, which states and/or cities has the highest children fatalities due to gun violence. Other than Detroit, you'd probably would be surprised which other cities are high on list.

The only bad suburbs near Detroit are Inkster, River Rouge, Ecorse and Romulus. All the the other suburbs bordering Detroit are decent, including Southfield and Oak Park. Most of the crime in Detroit is on the east side. I know, being from Detroit originally myself and live in northern Indiana. Detroit is slowly getting nicer with all the projects happening throughout the city. Its just getting the crime down and the thousands of abandoned and burned out homes demolished.

Rockford is really weird. My grandparents live in the northeast quadrant, which is just like any other nice small Midwestern town. It’s a pretty decent area and housing is dirt cheap. The rest of the city is pretty much third world. People running red lights regularly, doing drugs on the street, throwing things at cars, etc. I shadowed a surgeon in a hospital downtown and saw like 5 gunshot wounds.

Is this list based off of metro stats, but mentioning city proper? Generally, Birmingham and St. Louis would normally be high on murder rate if looking at city proper. However, if you look at metro areas, they drop down pretty significantly. Thank you for confirming what I already thought was going on in Houston TX! I am from Dallas originally. I know my friends from there think I am crazy when I tell them stories about what happens in or around my neighborhood. Now I do live close in but that is not excuse to shot at people, get recorded trying to open car doors or stealing wheels! Four doors down from me the police installed the one and only shot detector in the city to test it (at least that is what i understoodfrom one officer). I found this out the week before last when we heard 8 shots VERY close by! It was so close that the guy who lives 4 doors down (on the corner) hit the deck. The cops came out again this week because of shots heard by the device. Should I feel lucky we have this new technology so close or concerned? The neighborhood is very nice but...
