I wouldn't recommend damselfish to beginners unless you only have some damsel fish in the tank. They're aggressive and territorial, they've even bit my hand before. They will kill everything in the tank.

Tangs are awful for beginners as well as damsel fish. Anyone out there watching should watch a few other beginners fish buying guides for more info and definitely 100% not buy those two fish just starting out cause you’ll be setting yourself up for failure…

Some tangs such as yellow are actually quite easy to keep. Also, some in the damsel genus chrysiptera are quite peaceful. Springeri, Roland’s, and Talbots being the most peaceful in my experience
