Reason for that is simple. Both Spider-Man and Batman deal with common day issues, as generally lacking power to change the world itself. It is why they villains need show something more then flashy powers and are commonly grounded if not related to heroes. Most also sit in prison for most time, so there is many of them.

Because Magneto, Juggernaut, Mystique, Silver Samurai, Mr. Sinister,and Wolverine's Brother are the only well known villains of the X Men. Spidey on the other Hand has some Well known Villains and has one of the Best Rogues galleries of all time and that's what make them greater. As the person who wrote the article this is based on, I did add Doc Oc to my article. However, Ewan is limited in how many people he can go over as there are so freaking many in the Spider-Man Rogues Gallery. The article I wrote goes over some stuff more but this video was to highlight the main core of the rogues content.

I would put Spider Man in 1 or 2 defientely not three. Superman villains are either not important enough, too weak, too strong, and sometimes just forgettable. It really is between Batman and Spidey.

1:23 is Madame Xanadu from DC. I think you meant Xandu. Also, while on the topic of Madame Xanadu: Demon Knights? One of the best of the new 52. Just wanted to add that in. Loved it. Need more of it. Everyone should check out that one if you didn't during the new 52's beginning run.

My Most Favorites Are Superman Rogues Gallery,X-Men Rogues Gallery,Fantastic Four Rogues Gallery,Iron Man Rogues Gallery,Hulk Rogues Gallery and Moon Knight Rogues Gallery

Most of this list is debatable :) but all the best top 5 top 10 top 25 lists always are. However I do not think there is much debate you all nailed the top #1 spot rather well.

For me Spider-Man and X-Men rogues gallery are better than the one from Super-Man. Don't really know much of Supes rouges gallery besides Doomsday, Luthor and Bizarro. Why not mentioning Doc Ock? He is right next to Norman when it comes to Spidey's villains. I'm reading the old Werewolf by Night books at the moment, he definitely got one of the most ridiculous rouges gallery.

Guardians of the Galaxy don't really have a rogues gallery. They usually just fight cosmic characters that were introduced (and usually better used) in other series, with one big exception being Annihilation and the resulting stories.

Fun fact on an episode of comic book men, stan lee said that dr. Doom isnt actually a villain at all. Because technically he's never really done anything evil.

How you can no mention Doctor Octopus ? For me he is the real nemesis of Spider-Man. Also Wolverine and Hulk have better rogues galleries than Iron Man and Doctor Strange, I would argue about it.

A bunch of very underrated villains. I always thought Gentlemen Ghost was a joke villain but he is quite the motherfucker in JSA

Here's something that I've noticed about Marvel and DC. Marvel focus on the characters more and DC focus more on what they can do. Now I know that there exceptions on both sides, it's just an observation. And both companies have evolved their characters exponentially over the years. But I'm just saying what I think I see (who knows, maybe I'm wrong)

Spider-Man has the apotheosis Rogues gallery. Only Batman has a debatable plethora of adversaries. It's like the Champions League of villains.

You were on the money with this one! Batman has the best Rogues Gallery in DC. It's only fitting that Spider-man's Rogues Gallery take the #1 spot for Marvel.

What even guardians of the galaxy? Every single character he mentioned was not a guardian rogue but another character or teams. I love the guardians but it's not insulting to say they dont have much in terms of original villains which is why I'm baffled as to why they are on this list.

I haven't kept up with my Doctor Strange that good but I don't remember him and Mystero ever meeting or ever going at it.

To be fair, it is really common to see a crossover situation with some of Marvel's best villains. Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery list is iconic yet includes so many impressive names that you cannot possibly use them all. So giving that thought, I felt I needed to highlight similar names in the article I wrote, which is what WC based their video on. For example, Mephisto is an impressive Doctor Strange villain but he's most known for his big storyline with Spider-Man. Yet Mysterio, often known from Spider-Man, has a huge run in Doctor Strange's comics as well the X-Men story-arc where Wolverine kills everyone due to being tricked by the guy. So it's wrong to say that these guys are not iconic to the characters even if they debuted with someone else first.

@@JoeBurgettMusic I agree with your comments. The feeling that Marvel has better heroes and poor villains compared to DC is mostly due to the crossover of villains into other titles. The best Mephisto stories are Daredevil and Spiderman based, but does not lessen the importance on Dr Strange. With the way Marvel has used villains in the past (Acts Of Vengeance as an example in the late 80s), every villain has crossed over from their main protagonist to other heroes to stop repetition of the same old stories year in year out. While this can lead to interesting stories and concepts, it also diminishes the effectiveness of rogues galleries. Look at the Flash in DC, or even Batman. Their rogues galleries are specifically tailored to the heroes abilities (speed orientated and non superpowered) and that's why they work better and dont seem to crossover into other books. Marvel tried same, most of Iron Mans villains are tech based (like Stark himself) and I think Marvel even said Spidermans villains are animal related mostly (Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion) when Straczynski was writing the books. A great villain or villains must have a common theme to the hero for the conflict to seem realistic. Dr Strange works best with mystical villains, so I can see your point.

Just as an FYI, I wrote the article that this video is based on. I also did one on DC Rogues Galleries, in which, I mentioned both Flash and Batman. You can read that here, if you'd like: whatculture.com/comics/10-best-rogues-galleries-in-the-dc-universe And yes, the Dark Knight is my number one. Flash edges him out in some people but overall, Batman has the greatest rogues gallery in comic book history. Full stop. Ewan loves Superman's Rogues, which is likely why he mentioned them in this video. I do not remember writing in that Superman's Rogues were top tier but did say something about Batman in my post on Marvel's Rogues.

@@JoeBurgettMusic I think Superman's rogues gallery is notable just because Lex Luthor is in there. There was some poll where the top four villains according to fans ended up being Joker, Doom, Magneto, and Luthor, I believe in that order. Superman's rogues gallery is kind of like a basketball team that focuses on one star player imo
