Some things I brought back from my trip to Ireland with my husband: 1. A Celtic knot necklace with Connemara marble in it 2. A scarf from the Book of Kells exhibit gift shop (what can I say, I love scarves) 3. A silver Christmas ornament of Ashford Castle, where we stayed one night as our big splurge 4. Socks for my husband featuring a Celtic knot (he loves socks) 5. An Irish flat cap for my husband
My wife and I received an absolutely gorgeous oval Waterford crystal fruit bowl as a wedding gift. That was nearly 30 years ago and we’ve never dared actually put anything in it :) It’s too precious.

Has nobody said this: The best thing you can bring back is: DIANE JENNINGS! but Ireland has banned her physical export.
The #1 thing I want to bring back from Ireland is Diane Jennings! (BIG SMILE, LOTS OF HEARTS)
I logged on to admit I laughed out loud and almost spilled something when the oompa-loompas appeared. Well played, editor diane.
I went to Ireland this past summer. I bought Butler’s chocolate bars for my whole family and a claddagh ring for myself, and I spent so much time shopping at Penney’s! It’s an amazing store with awesome deals!
I remember in game shows in the sixties when they had class gifts they always has "and a lovely set of Waterford Crystal" as a prize.
I loved my vacation to Ireland. I did get a Claddagh ring which I dearly love.
On behalf of America, thank you for sparing the fake puppy.
I haven't been to Ireland, however my niece traveled there and she brought me back some slippers that were sheep with shamrock noses. Ireland is on my bucket list.
Editor Diane is back! Happy Monday!
OMG AN INVISIBLE PUPPY I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO ADORABLE!!!! 🐶😁
Calling my friend Chad to ask him what he has said to you recently.
I didn’t bring back one thing from your list from my trip. Guess I need to come back 🇮🇪
My wife had a Claddagh ring which she picked up at a U.K,. import shoppe here in Las Vegas, Nevada (about 10 years ago) , which like her is sadly no longer with us so I wear it on a chain with our Wedding bands
I've had Claddagh rings since I was a teen and I love them. Some with a stone and some without.
I also bought an umbrella, some Irish lace and a wee replica of Blarney Castle....
" Bite Me Scotland " ... is actually my family motto .... #Brilliant
I've said you were my favorite KZreadr, but now that I know you are a Buffy fan, you are even higher up in my eyes!
My wife and I were in Dublin in June. We followed your previous suggestions and had a lovely time. When I was in Saigon Vietnam (as a tourist, in 2003, I'm not old enough for the war) I found an Irish pub (Sheridan's Irish House) and drank a Guinness. While in Dublin, I found a Vietnamese restaurant (Pho Viet) and drank a Saigon beer. (Isn't Canadian multi-culturalism fun)
My Granny had always wanted to do Croagh Patrick (massively religious Derry woman). So we did it when I was about 16 which was lets just say YONKS ago… While doing it we made a stop in Connemara. So gorgeous there and I got the most beautiful Connemara marble heart on a gold chain. I still have it,. Would totally recommend Connemara marble as a souvenir. Also, just so you know I was spinning my comunion claddagh ring on my finger while I watched the video. It will be 38 years old in December. LOL 🇮🇪
You’re a Buffy fan?! I like you even more now. Such a good show!
I bought the hurley stick back in 1988!
Came to Ireland ,stayed in Enniscrone on west coast loved it. Then stayed in Ballina for 3 months . Husband was living there at the time. So I guess my hubby is what I brought back from Ireland lol.
Was in Dublin 2 months ago, and had an really nice time. Brought 2 bottles of poitín back home. That's Something I would recommend, cheers .
Currently studying abroad in Dublin and I’ve already got my American classmates obsessed with spice bags/boxes. Can’t wait to tell them they can get the spices and take them home with them 😂
I brought back a lot of items from Belleek Pottery Factory and a thick sweater for my Mom who is always cold. Plus a ton of trinkets.
Happy Monday to you Diane! You look lovely as always! I've always wanted to visit Ireland and I have always found to be quite a beautiful and scenic country. I really enjoy when you share your insights with your loyal fans and viewers. Thanks so much for the upload and for always being so amazing! Have a great week my dear and be well! 🌷🌹🌸🌼🌻
What I always bring - Bisto, that banging smoky bbq fajita spice powder, some curlywurlies, SMOKED SEA SALT FLAKES, something stupid and fun from Maktus (George's Street Arcade in Dublin) and something from Dunnes, usually a candle. I'm an avid souvenir bringer as you can probably tell.

A souvenir I brought back from Ireland was a Sheela Na Gig carved from hard peat.
You are just so cute. I will put your list to work when I get to Ireland one day. 🇮🇪 💕💕
Thanks for all the cool souvenir, tips Diane!

@LindaC616
4 жыл бұрын
@@hazerdxhd4373 I agree with that wholeheartedly! Before I'd been to Dublin, a colleague told me a couple of days in Dublin would be enough. A year or 2 later, I found myself there unexpectedly with 5 days free. I don't drink whiskey, I don't drink Guiness, 5 days was more than enough. But I did get to go see New Grange, so that was something interesting, and that included the Hill of Tara- very beautiful. If you start in the west by flying into Shannon, you might save money on airdarw, as well, depending on where you're from.

@@LindaC616Yeah thats true flying into Shannon airport would be great if you want to explore the countryside and small towns around Ireland. Dublin is very different in my opinion then the rest of Ireland, its so big with many tourists in the city centre, it would be brilliant for a few days but people need to see the rest if Ireland because it would interest alot of people seeing very different culture, it would be fascinating for many tourists. Hope you had a good time in Ireland!

@@hazerdxhd4373 Oh, I've loved it! Haven't seen the north or Wicklow yet, though. Galway several times, Limerick once, Dublin/Holy Cross, up around Westport, Kyle.oor Abbey and Cong, Ring of Kerry tour, the Cliffs of Moher, and a tour of County Clare and the Loophead with Fadder Mike (is there any other way!?). The last time, I made it to Inish Mor, and had to go back to the Inagh valley, because I saw that with some friends on my first trip, and it was so damned beautiful I wanted to go back.
My mammy brought me back a chain sweater, which I love.
Love it! I brought back a Claddagh bracelet from the Connemara Marble Factory with each of the different Irish marbles in it and my friend bought Waterford Crystal. The chocolate was amazing!!
We brought back an Aran sweater... For our dog!
My sister brought back an Aran sweater for me after her trip to Cork. I love it!!
I brought back tunes. Lots of them
Thanks for the list of things I need to look for to fill a spare suitcase on my next trip to Ireland. Good thing I watched the video to the end because on the way back from the Cliffs of Moher I stopped in Galway and got, instead of a Claddagh Ring for my mother, a clothing item to keep her warm this winter. I won’t say what lest I endure the wrath of Editor Diane. I’m too young to die.

You see, the thing is Michael, no Irish person would be seen dead in an Arran sweater.
Along with genuine whiskey (#5) is limited edition or distillery exclusives. Although Jameson and Bushmills are available in US/Canadian stores, there are some versions only available at the distillery.
Claddagh rings are extremely common in the US too.
Irish Turf carvings are just so nice hard to get here .
OMGosh, Buffy is my favorite show. I named my dog Buffy (RIP), and cat Willow.
Diane, it is fun to hear people brag about where they live. We Americans are proud our Country for the most part and it is nice to hear others share their Country.
Twice a year, St. Patty’s Day and Rose of Tralee, QVC has for years brought in Irish vendors and we can get Waterford crystal and Claddagh rings and all kinds of beautiful items, even the perfume Innish. But we have Irish stores here too and we can get Waterford crystal in department stores, along with whiskey. So for those of us not going to Ireland 🇮🇪 we can always pick up some of these beautiful items. The Irish vendors on QVC always give us a little history along with the product. I have learned a lot more about Ireland through the products being presented on QVC. Two great shopping days many of us look forward to each season.

Your Hurley stick sounds cool. It'll go real nice next to the 18" Cresent wrench
My wedding band is a Claddagh ring. :-)
Awesome video!! I really love this video.
One day I'll make it over there! Your hints, tips, and lists are quite entertaining.
I actually brought back a Claddagh ring. The best things I brought back were Taytos and 6 bottles of Lucozade. I‘ll be sad when they’re gone. Everyone should have access to Lucozade:(

In my day, you would never visit someone in hospital without a bottle of Lucozade. However, it's basically just flavoured sugar and water.... the biggest marketing con ever!
Connemara Marble was my wife's favorite souvenir
Loved this! I got a white gold claddagh ring for my sweet sixteen birthday present, and I've had a few between the years, but either way I totally loved this list. Thanks for sharing hun 😊❤
I gave a Claddagh ring to one of my paramours when I was younger and idealistic. She was gone in less than a year. LOL
Bonus video content! We got feckin and the craic! By the way, excellent suggestions!
Actress Sarah Lee Bolger said other than her family, she misses Kerrygold butter the most when in US. Should Read: Kerrygold Butter’s Rise From Humble Countryside to American Favorite. How the Irish export became a hit in the U.S
Great List!! You kept Editor Diane busy in this one, which is great. I think she uses more of the tan in the can...
I had a grandmother who kept a shillelagh by the door, for the purpose of applying it to an intruder's head with great force. Is this the same basic idea? We have several claddagh rings, and a beautiful set of Irish Crystal Water Glasses. If we should be fortunate to visit Ireland any time in the future, we will already have some of the weightier items on your list, the Crystal being the heaviest. The one thing that is of the greatest value would be meeting more people who are as charming as you.

Just got back, Waterford factory in Waterford ships! As did many of the gift shops. We didn't buy sweaters but did buy some capes.
This list is on point also. Thanks Diane, it was a great video. I want a spice bag nom, nom, nom.
I went to Ireland in 2000 and brought back a p piece of Ireland in my heart, plus an Aran wool sweater. I have followed Midwest radio out of county Mayo and the music ever since. I long for the day I can visit again.
I really love this video.
Always love your bloopers and outtakes, thank you. 😂
Enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing. We are headed to Dublin for the first time in 11 days. (Yes, I'm counting down 😂 ) So excited! Will definitely keep an eye out for the things you mentioned!

A no brainer. ;-)
Brought a Trinity College hoodie back for my best friend and she always says it’s her favourite sweater. Great list!
When I went there, I brought back a Claddagh ring, some assorted crystal (of course I did go and tour the Waterford factory and get some there), some Bailey's Irish Cream (they do sell it here, but it tastes better there). I did go and see the Book of Kells, but I did not get a sweatshirt. I brought back a sheep skin that I bought at Woolen Mills. I have several Celtic Cross necklaces that I brought back. I brought back a St Brigid's Cross to hang over my front door. There were so many things that I brought back with me. The best things I brought back were the memories. This was all a long time ago when Ireland still used the Irish Pound. I believe everything switched over to the Euro soon after we left. If you go visit Ireland, can I recommend that you spend at least 2 weeks there. That is how long I was there and it still felt like it was not enough time. Fly into Dublin, get your car, and drive around the southern part of Ireland just sightseeing. Go and kiss the Blarney Stone, tour the Waterford factory, see the Cliffs of Moher, just drive and see the sights. I would schedule your trip around the Galway Arts Festival so that you can spend time in Galway and see the shows and artists there. Just my opinion and to be taken as that. Please do your research and see what may interest you.

I don't know about kissing the Blarney Stone.........I did that and was told later by a local that the employees piss on it every night for laughs.
First trip to Ireland I stayed in UCD's dorms... brought back a couple bottles of whiskey, loads of chocolate...... and an Aran sweater.
Thank you,Diane,I really liked your suggestions.Especislly the chocolate and the crystal! And the hurley stick. And the face mask.Saving this for furure reference!
Just before flying back to Frankfurt, I bought an album by Christie Moore as a souvenir at Dublin Airport. "Made in Germany", I read in the CD booklet later.
I leave for Dublin in 2 weeks so this video came just in time! Thanks for the recommendations
Helpful! Headed to Dublin (and Cork) in November! Definitely have to pick up that chocolate.
Wow! This was a really good video. Spray on tans on blue people to the southern accent (Chad). The southern accent needs work but since I wasn't expecting it I spit my coke all over my laptop from the burst of laughter... I went to Ireland in 1996 (brought back a boldhran and tin whistle) and 2016 (Claddagh ring and learned to drive on the other side of the road... )and will be back in the late spring of 2020. Hello from Georgia (US).
I've only flown over Ireland on my way to London. I hope to make a stop there one of these days.
I’m coming to Dublin in a few weeks and watching your video and my chef friends overheard and said smart woman don’t forget those SPICE BAGS. Sincerely you should be doing paid partnerships!
Oh, you're not an idiot Diane. Ps Buffy rocks

Well, let's see... Last 3 trips to Ireland I got a company, a cargo van, a house, and a victorian 3 story building, and a wife... so, guess I picked up a few things...
Smithwicks Blonde is the best beer I've ever had and its a shame we cant get it in the states.
Thank you!! 💚
Thanks I plan on going to Ireland soon.
Hi Diane. This was an extra cool list, filled with a variety of good suggestions. What to buy in Ireland?? Now I know! (Or I at least have some ideas!) So, Thanks!! 😁😎👍
"Bite it Scotland" LOL!
When I lived in Ireland for a semester in college, I bought meself a Hanna flat cap (so comfy on a chilly day!) and 2-litre bottles of cider (like Devil's Bit). In the states of course, we call it hard cider, because regular cider is simply spiced non-alcoholic apple juice. There are no 2-litre bottles of hard cider in the states, none that I've ever found. I wish that was a thing here.
I picked up gorgeous Nicholas Mosse pottery from Kilkenny and tea towels from Trinity College (book of Kells). Can’t wait to go back. 🍀
Very helpful video.
When I go I plan on bringing back an Irish whisky hangover to Canada.
My family and I went to Ireland for my 30th birthday, over 10 years ago. We definitely brought back some Butlers chocolate. Some of the best chocolate I've ever had. My husband also got me a Claddagh ring to replace one that he had gotten me when we first started dating.(It was way too big and he promised to get me one that actually fit.) 😁 Ireland is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It was amazing to see the place where some of my ancestors came from. I love your videos. It's funny to see the similarities between you and my daughter. Keep up the great work. 🙂
I found Butler's chocolate at a local grocery store here in Chicago. Expensive, but excellent chocolate. Bought a bar with honeycomb bits in it. The amazing chocolate with the crunch of those pieces felt like a party of flavor. Highly recommended.
Just came back from Dublin, Galway and The North... Got a Claddagh ring in Galway! Love it! ...got other things as well as a tattoo and love them all! *edit* and Guinness Chocolate! amazing!
I was almost named chad and im so grateful that didn't happen!
The number one thing to bring back to States from Ireland would have to be Diane; of course she has to come voluntarily
