I can't stand watching live television any longer. I have been watching old shows on Amazon Prime and they are over 50 minutes for an hour show, in the 1980s; meaning less than 10 minutes of ads. Now hour-long television shows are about 41 minutes...ad time has almost doubled!

Coupon must be a regional thing, I've lived here all my life and have only heard queue-pon in media, here we just say it coo-pon.

100% agreed on Oprah. She spouts about how to raise kids (she doesn't have any), she spouts about how to lose weight (she can't manage her own)...

When the U.S. was formed, British Imperial measurements had different volumetric measurement standards for solids and liquids. Now they use one and we use the other. 🤣

I completely agree with you about how annoying adverts can be, one of many things I find irritating is that on certain channels you have adverts that start as the TV programmes opening credits finish, this is made more infuriating when the first advert that they show is for the very program this advert is interrupting.

First of all not offended in the least its a pretty accurate list. I always wondered how others thought about our flag being everywhere and on everything🤔. Growing up in the '80s the British flag was on everything that was cool and frankly I grew tired of it(although I had one on my bedroom wall🙄). Great video Diane!

The US does not use imperial units. Our units have the same names as imperial units, but often the values are different. And the imperial system was not invented until 1825, by which time we had been independent for 50 years.

Agree about the TV adverts. I once timed the commercial break during a show and it lasted 7 minutes and they played the same 3 commercials twice during it. Also agree about the pronunciation of "coupon". It spreads because the people who mispronounce it will be the first to correct you when you pronounce it correctly and do so adamantly.

Regarding the pronunciation of "coupon" that you mentioned. I'm American and I pronounce it "koop-on", but I know a lot of people do it the "kyew-pon" way. It baffles me too.

Diane says American cheese smells like feet. That's fine. Germany gave us Limburger which smells like poop. And England gave us Stilton which smells like death. :-)

I think the pronunciation of coupon is a regional thing. I say it the way you do. I'm from Minnesota and don't recall hearing "que"pon much there, but I do hear it more in Colorado, where I live now. For me, another weird word is "often." I hear about a 50/50 split between people that sound out the t and those that don't.

When I hear the term for party as a "shower" as Baby Shower, I go to think of Wednesday Adams asking if there were Girl Scouts in the Girl Scout cookies. I mean when it's raining cats and dogs you have to watch out for poodles.......

While I’ve never seen a single episode of it, from all of the complaints I’ve heard it sounds like it was rushed due to a lack of new source material. Simply put, George Martin couldn’t churn them out fast enough. So the final series was basically “well.. let’s just see what happens!”

This was a great list and funny as hell! 1) Fake cheese...that stuff is nasty. I once needed to hang a small shelf in my dorm room back as a Sophomore in college. I used the cheese in a can as a temporary adhesive. It ended up holding true for 8 months. No, I’m not going to eat that stuff. 2) I was born and raised in the States and have always pronounced ‘coupons’ just as you do. I’m still not sure when or why others here started to modify the pronunciation to what you were presenting. They need to stop... Thanks for another great video!!
