How does the Primarschule of the ultramarines have homework don’t you have a chapter and a imperium to lead

I have never play Warhammer 40k or Own a Mini. I discover WH40k this week and I have already spent 20 hours of watching people play and create the mini. This game is almost a perfect balance of Roleplaying, Lore, strategy, and Art. I really love how beautifully painted the mini are.

Main rule in all warhammer games is to have fun so if you mess up the rules as long as both agree then no problem

I play mono-codex whenever possible and it's hard to remember all of them. Especially when several units have buffs that overlap. (ie Space Marines)

Col 3:23 Productions Yeah, it's not like a Baneblade can 1v1 a Monolith in Dark Crusade. Or, you know, the guy specifically targeted the massive threats like a smart person and takes them down before they can do any damage at all. It's almost like he was being strategic.

The Firesword Dragon I am not commenting on the strategy, I am commenting on the sportsmanship of booing the range of flamethrowers when he just bombarded most of his heavy hitters from across the table. Josh just lost, arguably, some of his best chances at winning, and he didn’t even get to play his turn yet, and Luka is booing his flamers? That is why I comment.

Col 3:23 Productions Yeah, but how many flamethrowing weapons can hit at that distance? Unlike you, I actually know distance, and he was using large weapons. Long range weapons are supposed to hit at range. Flamethrowers are not snipers. There's no such thing as a flamethrower sniper. Even in Starlink Battle For Atlas when it is a laser shooter, it still has very limited range. I would not be surprised if you got made about a Gauss Pylon hitting across a table when it is an AA.

@@thefiresworddragon927 I don't give two craps about range. More specifically, I don't care that an AA weapon can hit from across the table - it would be stupid for it not to! My criticism is not about range, it's about the sportsmanship Luka showed. I know it's all in good fun, these guys work together, no offense had been intended. My best friend plays Death Guard and we boo each other all the time. I was merely pointing out the discrepancies between their play styles and offering my own "analysis" of the situation. And the fact that you couldn't take my peanut gallery jocularity as jocularity is quite honestly just blowing my mind. This video is way old, nobody cares, *I* don't even care! It was a joke, dude. Move on.

Yeah, for something that should be cool and epic it's disappointingly tediousl and dull. After 50minutes everything seems to just be right where it started ... WH40K definitely has the problem of being mostly about boring upkeep (rolling and implementing results) rather than decision making and actual gameplay, unfortunately.

40k battle reports would be awesome to animate if I knew how, like we all imagine this as short fluid scenes of warriors shooting and slashing each other, massive power armour stomping on enemies trying to damage it's hydraulics n all.

The fact its a 10K point game makes it pretty tedious to watch, i find the 500-1500pts battle reports on youtube much more digestable. With decent editing they last 30-45 mins and its more tactical gameplay, less just march everything forward, more positioning well and picking the right targets with magic/shooting.

not only that. Necron player had so many lucky rolls, along with the re-rolls. And messed up with the rules for the Ghost Pile-on. Would've changed the outcome with those Knights which could've been effective.

Watching Luka's Dice this game was literally painful...

The callidus assassin screwing with command points sounds like a neat mechanic for what those folks do, causing confusion instead of direct firepower. I think they did other things of that nature in earlier rules, like mispositioning a unit.

I wish GW would add some benefit to going second

You could say that there is a benefit to going second in the movement phase Being that you can see all the sightlines of your enemies and strategise around them. Not worth being shot at first though.

we have a very simple house rule that makes a lot of sense : both turns happen at the same time. So we take turns going through the steps of each round, and when you go first and you kill a unit of mine it is removed once I have taken my step. To remember the losses we simply put dices in the squads to show how much where lost, and put death markers on the big stuff when they die. This way nobody goes second, and it does not really cost that much more time

I never got that. Why not have a system like Moba pick phase? One goes first, second goes twice. After that, either keep the double turns or switch back to one at a time. Is there some downside to that? Would double turn be even more OP than going first?

@@nemdenemam9753that may add too much benefit as 2 whole attack rounds could destroy an army it would need to be like have one group be able to attack next round or going seconds grants more command points

I love the wrecks scattered about as clutter. The table was beautifully put together here. Gotta appreciate a well set playing field.

The Necron Lord’s ‘The Lords Will’ only affects friendly Dynasty infantry, not tanks, so it can not give the Doomsday Arks re-rolls of 1 to wound.

That wasn't a battle... It was a slaughter. I didn't think the imperium player was going to have any units left after turn 2

I’ve only been playing for awhile, but I’ve learned that who ever wins initiative wins the game. I prefer the random unit activation of Bolt Action. An entire army moving, shooting, and assaulting before the opponent can respond is crazy.

It bothers me how pointless it is taking any sort of good armour vs necron lists. 5 knights and a superheavy tank. pretty much all gone by turn two without any real damage done on the other side. is there any point?

I'm sorry Josh, as much as I love Admech the Necrons/Luka win. Almost all of your forces are trapped inside the depths of a tombworld, and the necrons control the transportation gates back to the surface. Your warlord and what few forces he has will not be acquiring reinforcements, and with the power generator at least partially under necron control more and more of them will wake up, to say nothing of the unending swarms of murder scarabs and tomb stalkers not shown in the battle. You may be predominantly skitarii, but the best you'll manage at this point is a fighting retreat back to the surface, and you'll be leaving your robots behind for sure (you broke them to get them to fire all those shots remember?). Necrons almost always come back. Techpriests are not so immortal. Fluff wise, you just don't have the resources to survive on necron home turf long enough to cause permanent damage. You're no Ultrasmurf who can achieve the impossible with spite and a copy of the codex astartes (use as Toilet paper not withstanding). And yes, I watched about the entire game. I'm a bit confused though... were you counting superheavies for extra points, or just things with the titanic keyword? I'm PRETTY sure Monoliths are just heavy supports, not superheavies. Can't say regarding the titanic keyword though.

It seems people underestimate the imperium. All those dudes trapped in the tomb world can still overload the power generators and blow the planet up. A.K.A. Strategic and complete victory for the imperium!!!

+1 to this! There is no way the Imperium forces would be able to escape and the never ending tide of an awakening Tomb World with so few Imperium forces left on the ground would require exterminatus to stop them.

I know these can be really time consuming, and you need to keep some type of schedule for other campaigns and stuff. That being said I love these massive battle of armies bringing like everything you have. Maybe a once a month thing would be fantastic and a real vault seller imo. I’m already a vault member, but just saying. Thanks guys for the entertainment and laughs you provide in my normally dreary and disabled world I live in. I can play my dream armies through you guys. Steve is my spirit animal. Bucket list while I still wheel around this land is to play Steve in a massive battle. Saving money to drive up there from Southwest Florida.

One thing to remember about Binharic Override is that it is used "at the end of any phase", so you wouldn't have been able to use it in the middle of the phase before shooting the Tomb Blades.

THAT is a Necron army! jeeze!

nice, 10.000 points! Really loving these special treats. I only have one question though, which is that normally the person that has first turn already has a huge advantage, but in big battles like this, the person that goes second is going to loose 9/10 times. I hope you guys could maybe homebrew some rules for this. maybe that a person that has first turn can choose one of the tables, goes first there, and then the second table the other person goes first.

That vault got ridiculously lucky, it drew atleast 60% of all of its enemy fire power and survived.

That 80 Warriors shooting is pretty impressive.

Just watched turn one for the Necrons, and i have two tips: Limit dice rolling by mentioning how many wounds you got and just roll saves, or edit out and summarize if an attack did nothing or wasn't important. The other tip is more of an optional houserule i thought of when on another channel some 'Nids destroyed 600 points of 1500 in the first turn... You could rule that whoever goes first can only use half of his/her army, then proceed game as normal. In this setup with two tables it would have been very easy. Starting gives such a huge advantage! Gonna watch the rest now!

That Overwatch on the assassin after the 2 hour mark was scary. Had it been T'au sept, all three of those shots would have hit. Ouch.

That Pylon was huge for the game

This was great!

I know of how overcharging things (not Plasma, this has nothing to do with 40K) causes things to output more effectiveness, but causes it to work at a severely reduced rate afterwards for a while. Like a bayonet charge from BF1. After you charge, you can't sprint and I believe you have a slight movement penalty until the charge finishes its cooldown.

Necrons won. They have other power sources, that was just the main one. The overlords, cryptecs and lords can chose to reanimate. They can totally muster more forces because of the scarabs, wraiths from the walls, tomb spiders and rising chumps(warriors)

correct me if I'm wrong, but the Necrons pretty much controlled the only entrance to the tomb world.... time is a weapon. The could continue to reanimate losses while sweeping the area before going back into the tomb world. Necrons win.

They could only reanimate the turn they go down without special cp protocols or resurrection orbs which are all limited resources.

Thinking about this in the universe of 40k the Imperium got the main objective of capturing the tomb but the Necrons can starve them out from above since the Imperium can not leave the tomb, thusly the Imperium have gotten them selves a new tomb to which they die in. Necrons win overall, unless the Imperium happened to have another chapter nearby to send support to fight off the surface where since the Necrons no longer have their tomb they would not be able to generate more units, then the Imperium wins. But as the forces seem there isn't another chapter close enough thus a portion of the forces would die off and the Necrons can more take back the tomb with less resistance.

Man going first in massive battles like this seems to be a phat advantage with all the shit you can get rid of immediately

Happy to see a huge list of Necrons x3 I’m at 6000 points myself and growing. I will say though, why no Doom Scythes. With the cool Necron Stratagem for them and Sautehk rules saying they can fly and shoot heavy weapons with no penalties, that shoulda been a must. Same with running more than one Stalker to strike down high priority targets. But still, happy to see a full tomb world

Here I was thinking my planned 5,000 pt army was too much. lol

question @miniwargaming where do you get your necron themed scenery or do you make it if you make it how and what do you use?

I actually like the narrative of this battle, all the imperium forces fighting to get the planet back from the necrons, Luka and josh do a great job don't worry about the rules mistakes, anyway great job!

narativly i would say the necrons won that fight due to the fact they have secured the entrance to the tomb all the forces withing the tomb are traped and can not retreat so in time the forces inside would die off iether of starvation or in combat

Omnia Ave Deus Machini. The forces of the Omnissiah have secured the centre of the tomb world trapping the Necron forces on the surface, cut off from reinforcements it seems inevitable that the fleet of the Omnissiah will descend with reinforcements and bless the xenos with the fire of the Ordo Reductor. I say its a Adeptus Mechanicus Victory because they control the more valuable board, they can just set up firing circles around the teleporters and gun down any necrons that try to teleport back.

Luka, how you pronounce "Gauss" made me think the weapons were "Ghost" blasters, Flayers, and cannons.

And now necron players also got skarh (or somin like that) I’m so jealous especially when I have a very small model count in my army with only 2 relatively big units (Idoneth)

Great game gents. Both armies look amazing, I'm an Imperium/Chaos player (not a Dark Angels joke) but those Necrons are stunning! The boards are absolutely epic, one of the best boards I've ever seen in a bat rep before. My one critique would be, the bat rep was over three hours. I actually spread out my viewing over 2 and half days due to the length. Most bat reps edit out the movement phase unless something really important happened. With an apocalypse game especially, honestly did anyone care where your 60 Necron warriors moved? Nonetheless, that must've been a fun game to play, hopefully some intern was in charge of cleanup cuz I'm sure that took awhile.

cool game, liked the imperial force and was astounded by how deadly necrons are. However while the imperials won narratively (had the more important objective and killed the warlord) the necrons definitely won overall
