This song... Tears run down my face, but not just from nostalgia... But from nostalgia... when I was 10 years old, I joined a pirated Minecraft server, I met a friend who lived in another country, me in Brazil and him in New York... We created a huge bond, I used the translator and learned English to speak to him better, the problem he had... Cancer, and I remember that he he was in a terminal condition, with only a few months to live according to the doctor, but what were just months became 3 years, which he resisted, until in 2017... He died, the family He came to talk to me on his WhatsApp, and when I heard it I went into crisis, I cried... To this day I have the map that we created together, and the dog, Markson, that he adopted... I finished our mansion friend, I finished our dream... Mansion I miss you forever... Raphael

As I’m writing this I’m 19, I look back and realize how much time flies as you get older and how much you change as a person. I remember getting an Xbox for Christmas in 5th grade. I would always hop on and play different types of games with my friends. Over time we’ve just grown apart and I started playing less. Got into a bunch of different hobbies as I got older. Every time I would hop on a game like Minecraft or something else, it would take me back to those fun times I had with my friends. I’ve learned to enjoy every moment of your life while you can, because the sad truth is that you can never go back. You can only move forward. I wish the people who are reading this to have a great day.

Kids right now don't understand the concept of time. They will enjoy playing their favorite video games, make life long friends in those games, thinking it will last forever but we know the truth, we all know what happens in life. Most things don't last forever but a beautiful thing is that those memories we have will shine like gold in our memories.

I don't know what sense of patience I lost, what sense of drive I once had, but I can't enjoy the game like I used to. And trust me when I say it's the worst feeling in the world. Minecraft is and forever will be the best game to ever have been released, and I will defend that with my life. The memories it's inspired are like nothing else. Something about being able to walk around endlessly, building masterpieces in Creative or exploring a vast landscape in Survival, something about that just makes the game resonate with countless people. And it's the worst feeling in the world to know that I can never be the person I was, and I can never go back to those days. But you know what? I try to distract myself from those things. Because in a few years, I'll be looking back on _now_ and wishing I could go back. So to everyone out there who's like me, wishing desperately to relive those experiences, please, look back on these times with a smile on your face, and be glad you were able to experience them instead of sad you never will be able to again. Because right now, you're building memories. Your life still has so much more left in it, and now is the perfect time to experience it. But don't get me wrong. I know it's hard. It really is. Letting go of these beautiful memories is _much_ easier said than done. And you can look back on them from time to time, but if you spend too long reflecting, you'll miss the chance to make even more memories. You only get one life. You may have lived through a bit of it, but there is so much more to experience. *I promise.* To end this off, I'll leave you with a quote I came up with while writing this. It's short, but I think it holds a lot of value. "Tomorrow is only as good as you want it to be." - Ec1ipze I know it's hard. But for your own good, you should focus on what has yet to come. I swear it'll help. So, I wish you a good life. You have the potential to do amazing things. Much love to everyone out there.

Those days when you thought zombies were other people…when you didn’t know you could place blocks. When you dug yourself underground and hoped nothing hurt you. When you cut your first tree and left it to float…and saw you could make a strange new block with four..wooden planks? When you saw the sunset for the first time… although pixilated…made you calm. Felt like home. Like happy. It was the escape you had for your childish problems. And where your brain was able to run free. Where you copied minecraft lets plays of your favorite creators that you watch periodically. You learned how to make torches…then furnaces…soon you had found your first village! Your first cat! Your first…bed. You furnished your underground burrow of fear that you kept out of love. Put up rugs and changed the floors. It seemed like every day you woke up that there was something new to learn. Some exciting discovery. And you could feel yourself begin to slip. Pull away from earth filled pockets. From hiding in the dark. From closing up your ‘doors’ each night. It wasn’t the same. It could never be again. You kept progressing and year after year your horizons broadened. Everything was easy for you now. You made world after world, hoping to find something new…and never did. Updates came and went and everything moved all too quickly. And now you’re here. Listening to that song you heard on the first night. That night in the hole with the dirt clutched tightly. Your breath hitched in your throat as you watched the screen expectantly. Then the sun came up. The noises went away. You realized you had a second chance. That song. That you listen to now. The memories of a time long past, your life as short as it is. It feels like forever ago. Why couldn’t it last? Why couldn’t you stay in that comforting pocket? Why couldn’t you be young with the world so vivid in color and music and life? You ache for the void within yourself to be filled but it never is. It’s more than just a game. It’s a feeling. It’s home.

This touches me, deep in my heart. I started playing Minecraft when i was 4, now im 14. I just remember so much about playing on the Xbox 360 in old Minecraft, 1.7, 1.8, im not sure. Days, weeks, months, years, i spent playing on that, through the course of years, hundreds, if not thousands of memories were made. I miss being that happy in my childhood. Life now, is just, ruined by too much social media and stuff like that, those times were the times where i felt my fullest, happiest, joyest. Now, 10 years later, i listen to this. Memories from so many different worlds and maps come rushing back to me. It makes me so happy to rethink those memories, but the thought of it being in the past and never being able to go back, just hurts me. Live your life to the fullest, cherish your memories, have fun, you only live once.

Sunny relaxing evening, no responsibilities and worries about world-wide issues, just me, with my dad. playing minecraft and building funny characters and wonky buildings.

Here I am, at 2,25AM on saturday 18.5.24. How the time flies, I am currently drinking whiskey and slightly sobbing. The nostalgia, it has been roughly 10 years since I first got Minecraft on my old xbox 360, I don't have the same one anymore and the accounts I used to play with my friend are also inaccessible. Back then everything used to look so much brighter, the days I would wake up and instantly go to his house to ask him to come play Minecraft with me. We would both just sit on the floor playing creative and survival and just generally having fun. I miss that friend, I miss those times. When we had nothing better to do than hangout and play, with nothing bad in sight. We've since grown apart and I am now trying to quit smoking, back then I would have never even touched a cigarette. But times change, I am graduating this month and will begin my work-life the next. Long gone are the days of childhood... Long gone are the days of innocence...

I’m a senior in high school now, about to go to college. Every winter break since 7th grade I’ve hosted a Minecraft server for my friends and I. It has kinda become a major tradition for us at this point. These servers have been the highlight of the last few years for us and seeing these screenshots and this music now, at 2:30AM, I’m crying as I realize it’s all over. Usually when I close the server as break ends, everyone’s sad because they genuinely enjoy playing on it, but there’s always excitement for “next year.” But this time, there is no “next year.” To think that the discord server we spent hundreds of hours on over the years will have its last message sent before Christmas next year is heartbreaking for me. It hurts to know that I’ll lose touch with these people I’ve made so many memories with as we go out separate ways. It hurts to know that I won’t be pulling any more all nighters to drain an ocean monument. It hurts to know that there won’t be any more 20 person discord calls during the launch of the server. It hurts to know that it’s all over. Growing up is hard. You don’t realize it in the moment, but something so simple and small, can create life lasting memories. It’s true what they say, you never know how much you love something until it’s gone forever.

It doesn't have to be the end. Maybe not everyone will return, but you can still run the server at the same time and catch up with friends that show up. It could become an annual reconnection to catch up with everyone. But, even if not, you still have the memories. That might be enough.

The beginning of the song hits all the right notes. It’s feels fresh and new, but also feels like a bittersweet movie ending. The nostalgia hurts, you want to wake up and be there again, take it all back. Fleeting feelings and memories of being young and innocent will be locked away forever in some distant universe, chopping that first tree and killing your first creeper. Worlds deleted and gone. Memories that will stick with us forever. This game took time from us but gave back an unforgettable experience. Thank you Minecraft.

I like to imagine Steve’s dogs, cats, and other animals listening to stories about his adventures sitting around a campfire listening to each other as they took turns speaking “For over a thousand memories, the player has built and mined in this world. From the smallest of dirt huts to the deepest caves and oceans and beyond, to other dimensions in search of something not of this world. He travelled through unimaginable curiosities in search of anything and everything. There was little that could match his determination, as we never saw him back down, never gave up, and never saw him surrender. He inspired us with his bravery and courage, made us feel proud to be by his side. Sometimes he got knocked down, happens to the best of us, but in spite of that, he always did his best to protect us. Everyone was nervous when long stretches of time passed when we did not see the player. Day after day of survival, night after night of defending our little sanctuary, the bond we forged made it hurt that much more when we needed him most, and he never returned. Not a trace was left, but the houses he built, the mini-games for fun, the marvels of engineering he built every day, the vastness of his creativity never failed to amaze us. The stories we could share, oh how magnificent those untold stories. And now all that remains are a thousand broken memories, left to be, as it was. Hope is not the right word, nor is sorrow. Perhaps it is the feeling of existing only as what you were as a memory. It is sad, don’t you think? Never knowing what you could be capable of. Never having the opportunity to try, at least. How could you describe such a feeling with one word? How can you do justice the loss of our history, our… friendship? Well, it’s hard to say. Maybe you can’t, maybe not with words. But we can try. That’s all we have left. Our final goodbye, to an empty, hostile world, once brimming with all the innocence a child could muster. It was a beautiful sight to see, if you had been lucky enough to experience it. 🫡 ”

i remember the good days.. My friend would come over after school and him and I would play on my PS3 playing split screen, we would either play a survival world together, or create challenges in creative. One of the things we used to do was build a tower with an item inside, and whoever could take the item back to their won base first would win (like capture the flag) or get insane armor and just pvp each other, and while we would play, we would always talk about Pokemon and which Pokemon was the strongest, and this would go on for hours and hours until he had to leave in the end of the day... We stayed together in elementary school, but sadly come to high school we went our opposite ways, and listening to this makes me remember everything I had back then, but that was over 10 years ago, he's moved on and so have I, it's just the way life works. Do I think he will read this comment? I doubt it, but if he were to, I hope he can remember the good times like I do.
