Welcome to part 1 of the 1/12 ECX Barrage RC Crawler build serries. In today's video i discuss what mods, upgrades and enhancements i made on the Barrage's drivetrain system.
As a side note... ECX has finally released an aluminum knuckle upgrade for the Barrage. At the time of this filming their were no such upgrades for the barrage. The only way to get a set of aluminum knuckles was to order them for a truck called the FTX Outback. The FTX Outback still has a few more aluminium upgrades over the barrage. So feel free to check out what option parts you can get for your own truck.

I have the same truck the ftx outback,mines the hsp rgt same truck, great upgrades I’ll have to do this to mine.👍👍👊👊📹📹

great vid. thanks for the letting us know the size of the bearings. I got a RGT rock cruiser. My servo went out and I swapped it out for a ECX Barrage servo. I was happy to find the FTX, RGT, and Barrage are the same truck.

I'm looking into trying a different better transmission for my ecx barrage do u know of any that would fit?
You can upgrade to Hot Racing Steel CVD Center Driveshafts. The 98-115mm ones or something like that with 5mm outputs. And use some spacers on the upper links to get better angle on the axles for the drive shafts. Also you can use the Full metal lockers from the Redcat Everest 16.

How did you stop the tires from rubbing in the chassis?
Was going to buy it but I got scared when you stated all these problems. Can I run it stock without any problems and running in water.
Is this the Gen 2 ?
For the FTX outback did you find any sellers in the U.S? I could only f d sellers from the U.K
Is that a Gen 1 or 2?

You say your in the northeast..... I am also.... I have 2 ECX barrage doomsday edition trucks and could really use a hand with a repair.... I'll travel to you and pay for the time.... just need a helping hand.... I'm building 1 of them for mah son..... same as you!

The build yourself model comes with better axles, gear and motor, heavier links, and you dont have to have the crappy sand colored body. Just FYI its also $20 cheaper
This is another version of the origional losi mrc, axles give it away.
