AL82 Retrogaming Longplays
My channel is dedicated to helping preserve the history of classic video games through the form of longplays. A longplay can be considered the opposite of a speed-run, and is designed to:
- Showcase gameplay principles and mechanics in detail
- Explore majority of levels and secrets where possible (level skips are generally avoided)
- Show game ending/multiple endings where possible
Videos are captured using a lossless codec, then upscaled (typically 8x) and transcoded to H.264 for upload to KZread. Some videos retain 1:1 pixel mapping, while others are converted to 4:3 aspect ratio; I'll choose whichever format looks best for the game in question.
Cheats are never used as part of recording (unless a game simply cannot be completed without them), but the vast majority of videos are recorded using save states, tools, or some other workflow methodology to assist in the capture process. Online guides and FAQs are often used, and I'll create homemade maps if no such resources exist.

Loved this game when I was a kid. The soundtrack, the moves, the mysterious ambience... Just awesome!
The idea of the C.H.I.P. holds MUCH more the embodiment of doom than it did 30 years ago. But gdamn dod they springboard from Mel Gibson's ideas in such a great way!

"Heavy Barrel" Longplay (Arcade) This is one of my all time favorite games to play from the 1980's. This game is soo awesome. I go to a place called "The Arcade" & this game is there & I always play It. It's soo much fun to. I still have yet to beat this game. I'm sure I can....SSSSSS.

I recall seeing the screen shots & hoping it might be a laugh...then saw it on a buddy's ST & that cutesy element went out the window with choppy leaps of faith. Unfortunate the Amiga saw soo many of these nasty ports, alongside those Stateside like Sierra adventure games,& many missed what showed it off to its best! Almost U.S. Gold worthy this one!😅

I like how unlike the other game there's no civilian traffic and the turns are wide enough makes me wonder why it has a pedal where acceleration can be automated (as far as i remember the game has pedal)
People who say SNES has better sound have never played this game.
That Stage 2 intermezzo and the Fleet War Chase at 5 sure is a banger :P
