Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
I recorded this 3 years ago and just never got around to publishing it, Panther is a combination of Zaxxon, Defender and Choplifter. The objective is rescue as many scientists stranded in each level as possible, flying them to safety at one of the various command bunkers located on each level.
Your rescue attempt won't go unchallenged, however. You need to shoot down enemy attack craft before they can blow you out of the sky, which is far more difficult than it should be. The inclusion of Z-axis for height elevation means you have to adjust your craft's height to the correct level in order to actually hit anything, and it's a constant annoyance in an otherwise nifty budget game. It doesn't help that you can only shoot one set of projectiles at a time; you're totally exposed if you actually miss.
The game has no ending and stages loop once you've seen all of them.

This is pretty impressive. The changing scenery, animation of people and ufo's doing rolls, and the cool music. I was thinking it might be a new game but it's from 86.
Our scientists have developed the greatest fighting craft in the history of mankind. Agile, fast, able to hover and land anywhere. It can hold a near infinite number of passengers. Packed with awesome firepower, and incredibly manoeuvrable. Oh and it looks like a flying ribeye steak.

Flying sardine can with all those people packed in there.
A futuristic version of BLUE MAX on the Commodore 64 😺👍🕹️. The best thing about this game is the music by David Whittaker 🎵🎶 😺👍🕹️.

This music was also used in the game SIDEWINDER on Amiga and remixed by some little-known composer called Jesper Kyd in the HARDWIRED Amiga demo! Oh, and SuTeKH/Epyteor converted the music to AY, too! ^_^

@@jonahship5900 You know, that's true. I believe, i still have SIDEWINDER for my Amiga 500. Definitely one of the best space shoot 'em up games, i have ever played 😺👍🕹️. David Whittaker is an amazing musician 🎵🎶 - especially in SHADOW OF THE BEAST 😺👍🕹️.
It was hard to play this game back in the days back in the 80s
Panther was my first game on my C128 (c64 mode) 🕹️ 🤩
It surprises me that nobody has made a modern version. I had this on the atari.
Great work! I could never last more than a couple of minutes in that flying sardine tin.
