When I read about the tragic nature of twentieth century Russian history it sometimes amazes me that after WWI ,the Revloution, The Russian Civil War,the mass starvation following WWI, the horror of forced collectivization, The great Terror ,WWII and the forced ethnic clensings and reprials afterwards ,that there are any Russians left.

Too sanitized. They need to do a remake of the movie akin to Saving Private Ryan level of realism with full gore and less climactic music. “The Confederate losses mounted at an alarming rate. The Legion were only any good as the troops were foreign. French military forces are useless otherwise as history testifies with France falling in 40 days to Germany, and their defeats in Indochina and Algeria.

You engage the enemy at the maximum effective range of the weapons system... I realize it's a movie, dramatic effect and all... but why let the OPFOR get close enough to kill your troops?
