Sloppy staging. Troops firing rifles and machine guns while the actors are in front of them. Holding a machine gun barrel with bare hands. Swinging rifles and swords and missing by 12 inches or more as the other actor falls dead. A guy is killed with a machine gun pressed against his stomach but the bullet holes and blood are already on his back before he's "killed" and so on.

The white Russians sucked as much as the Reds. It made no difference who won either one would have sucked for the world.

Such a scene of bravardo when both the red and white armies were more given to massacring their opponents including civilians, looting, drunkenness and deserting to the other side.

Все конечно так и было. Но это не полная картина того пиздеца который здесь творился в гражданскую войну. Кроме белых и красных было еще много разных сил. Зеленые (анархисты) которые тоже совершали чудовищные зверства. Был чехословацкий корпус, который создали еще при царе из пленных австро-венгерских солдат чешской и словацкой национальности. Так вот они тоже отличились как одни из самых зверских участников российской гражданской войны. А были еще интервенты, военные контингенты Англии, Франции, Японии и США которые поддерживали какое-нибудь из белых правительств (белые были раздроблены, у них было много правительств). Так вот интервенты зверствовали точно так же как и белые с красными. Я это знаю из рассказов родных а не из красной пропаганды (я сам из репрессированной семьи, в моей семье большевиков не любят). Так что для русских что красные что белые что англичане что французы что американцы что японцы все одно и тоже. И вот поэтому в России с тех пор принято не доверять как своему правительству так и иностранцам

Well. If you're making a movie to polish one side's image you're not going to make them look like criminal cowards. Equally, if your story is about your brilliant troops being held up by the enemy, you hardly want the baddies to look like useless numpties either, otherwise people will ask how they held up your supermen for so long. I don't speak Russian and have no clue what the big picture is but having watched a few war movies here is my best attempt at a synopsis. White company commander gets frustrated at being held up by the Reds. He blames his colonel (the guy who appears at the end) for being a big girls blouse. He grabs his mate, the one in the red shirt and big fluffy hat, downs a flagon of wine and decides to sort the problem out himself. Off he marches with buddy in the big fluffy hat. This so inspires his men they immediately follow him and they overcome the dastardly enemy after a hard fight. Once the dust has settled up rides the colonel all upset and asks the Captain what he's doing attacking without orders. The Captain tells him he's doing what the Colonel should be doing at which the Colonel rides off in a huff. Captain and his mate go back to their bottle of wine telling each other they ain't going to win any medals for this one.
