The guy up the road bought one just like that and put in two sets of bunk beds refrigerator microwave and air conditioner he has three Mexican girls living in it and they go off grid every weekend sometimes for a whole week or two, he seems like a very happy man....
Thanks for the video. I would triple the amount of insulation to be more comfortable
Can we expect another video soon? It’s been 3 years 🙃
What fly would you recommend for the summer? I was thinking about taking a trip there
Very nicely done. Y’all are great people and I’ve enjoyed introducing friends to your shop. Hope Randy is well!
Personally, I like the low light when you shut the door. Your boyfriend would probably enjoy it too as it adds ambiance.
Put. It on the nose of the trailer
Beautiful video, wish I’d found it before! Riverside is a great shop! I stop in whenever I can and they are always welcoming and help me find what I need!
Campervan Kevin has mounted 2 units on motor homes. I would mount it on the toung with a removable box.
Murphy bed, you can build them yourself with proper research and can make a bed/sofa murphy bed so you can get a sofa and a bed for as little space
I'll be putting one in mine since i dont see the need to have a set table for eating and stuff , im gonna use a pull out table or folding table that i can store away or fold in
I appreciate the information about the A/c unit... I would have made the same mistake. Just sitting here listening to you a rough idea came to mind. What if you installed the outside unit for your mini split inside the v nose area on a sliding drawer so you could open a exterior camper style door slide it out when in use. Slide it back in for travel
Wiping with water raises the grain. Use a brush, and then a tack cloth.
I appreciated your comments about the mental aspect. Must be frustrating to do a bunch of work, and then it looks like nothing has changed. I will struggle with that when I do my conversion.
Good straight forward presentation w/o bs Like it People want to learn from others I'd like to learn the dB level of portable ac units dual ducted thru the floor
I listened to this whole video trying to figure out who voice is reminding me of, they I got it: Billy Bob Thornton. You have a great resonant voice almost identical to his. You should look into doing voice work.
Thanks. Very informative too.
You so freaking cute I just gotta ring that darn bell

Mini split for heat and cooling is quite and economically choice.
We had same ordeal with the wall screws, we called those screws ,screws of many names.lol
👍
Nice video bro! Thanks for the pointers! In the process of building mine!
I was very unprepared for how long and grueling all the prep work of the trailer was before you finally get to the fun stage. I was warned about it in videos like this. But dude.
Bathroom can be simple! Bag all poop so no black water tank! Use 3 x 7.5 gallon fresh water tanks with valves and hoses. Store them up a bit for gravity to do the work. Have a small shower head that can be used for cleaning, washing, bathing, etc... Trickle water... Flat basin on the floor which can hold water or drain out via a larger flex tube. Don't put anything nasty in the basin so you can just drain where appropriate. Poop and pee can be bagged and discarded appropriately. If you use paper towels and tp bag them up with the poop and pee. Try not to cook greasy food and messy smelly crap! Do most cooking outside! Heat just water or warm pre made dishes. Small microwave if so inclined. Air-conditioning, 5000 btu manual Walmart window style is plenty $155. Make a flush or regressed box or even cut a perfect sided rectangle for mounting. Never overrun ac, just cool things off. 5000 btu is good for the size. Heat can be done hundreds of ways, just be careful to not suffocate or burn. Serious caution! Keep it simple and style and fashion should not be the priority, form and function, and cost, should be... MarkMannM2
Is it only "catch and release" otherwise known as just fish molesting?
Where would you recommend cabinets; as far as-custom yes yes yes, or would you recommend any offline drop-in options..?
I’m picking mine up next week; really looking forward to it! Needed this with all my questions; thanks so much!
Put a sky light in that hole for the ac and get a mini split system. Add a composting toilet in a wet bath configuration and a Murphy bed opposite your desk and you’re done.
R75 is that the best for hot weather? I know nothing about insulation and I'm from fla..
I have research many bed solutions. The murphy bed still gives you good cargo floor space when the bed is stowed, but a very comfortable bed to sleep in the down position. Considering the ceiling height the bed can be built horizontally. This can accommodate twin, full or queen size. There are many mechanisms such as counterweight, piston shocks, or purchased bed hardware from Rockler to help with lift assist. Good Luck!
talk more about yoiur trailen less about ac ...
Will be going here
Space saving sleeping solution. Nail a sleeping bag to the wall and sleep in it 🤪
Love your shirt!
I just found your channel. I'm looking at converting a trailer so thanks for posting this. I'm about to take the walls off and was wondering if you have any tips for me. I know this video is old so I'm not sure you will even get this.
Hey Mike, I'd love to help, but without knowing how your walls are attached it would be hard for me to give any helpful advise, honestly. If they're attached with the same screw/nail hardware as mine- all I can say is to prepare yourself for lots of frustration and good ole' elbow grease lol! Thanks for checking out the channel- I'm hoping to start working on the trailer again soon and I'll post more updates as I do!
I wish there were step-by-step on wiring the circuit: step 1: do this. step 2: do this. step 3: step 4:
Should have gone with a mini-split AC. And what makes you think that people camping and living in it are OK with the noise?
Definitely would be best to keep it low profile. Maybe a 2" rear receiver with a small weather box like a overland van? 🤔
Use and air mattress. I think that’s what I’m going to do.
If I can see you trailer blueprints I can build you a bathroom
Isn't the main thing you want the AC for is sleeping when the heat is just unbearable? Seems like you could just pop in some earplugs and crash out to a night of cool sleeping. I understand why you hate it though.
You should have gone with a mini-split. Lol
Please tell me what vehicle you tow with it?!?!?!
Mini split above wheel or platform on v-nose, with top of mini split flush with roof of trailer.
skip the bed and go with some really nice folding cots, fold them up and slide the kayaks in there.
When I made my purchase last week, the dealer said "Make sure you mark your pieces!" What screws did you use to replace the originals that you had to crowbar out? Great vids with a sense of humor👍
New subbie here! Binge watching your conversion vids. Hey Jacob "C'mon it's crown molding in a trailer!"
I'm so glad you've touched on the natural light from windows and the other necessities. I just purchased a 7x 18ft and had a vent installed to give some lighting. I do plan to add more windows..it's a must! I'm just trying to find my way with the steps of my conversion. Luv the pallet wall & thanks for sharing your build.
Im designing a travel trailer w a mini split. Going to have it at the back in my garage area w a Tesla powerwall/inverter. Cut a round hole in the back left side of the door, mount grill cover on the outside, build a doghouse shroud to send the air out through the floor. Can be done in a small amount of space just curve the shroud so air moves freely. That way your "outside" unit can be in the trailer, less chance of theft or weather damage
