Coach Chinmayk 🎉🥳👽
Viewers brings in the funds. Thats how sports work. We dont have any major viewership in India so money wont be invested by companies or media houses. Remember te TOF winner makes less than 10% of a top F1 driver who doesnt make anywhere near to what a top footballer or NBA star makes! 😊 Its just sad we as a country has long way to go....
Yup, but nobody is talking about there not being funding. For a sport that is growing, it will come, with time. There are other resources that are not monetary, which can be utilised to progress the sport. I specifically mentioned “you cannot just write a blank check to the Indian Cycling Team” Your point, although true, makes no sense in the context of this conversation.
Not just money all kind of support will come if viewership increases. Imagine a UCI event with name Tour of India with professional teams participating would be amazing! 2% of AD budget of Jio is more than enough for a full fledged professional team but they just focus on one particular sport in India 😢 Finally our state level associations are pretty badly managed. Espeically in my state which probably is the worse in India
@@sankarpai Again, what you're saying is not wrong, but you are missing the point of the discussion. Its about leveraging resources that already exist. Rather than focusing on what doesn't exist as yet, we need to go and look at what we have, how best we can utilise and optimise certain aspects of what we already do. Investment will come when the Intent and Initiative are correct.
Why does the uci event prep sound so similar to our state champs i dont know... in some way i think joel and the guys did way better than any other team would have been able to... years of riding shitty conditions i guess.
What a listen...super!
Thank you, Joel and Venky for highlighting what is absent in Indian cycling and what needs to be changed for the better. Joel, you deserve all the best coming to you. Wish you all the success! Ride safe, ride strong! ✊

Wise words for a young guy! Good luck ..we cheer for you
It was a pleasure to listen to Parashuram. Many takeaways from the talk for any aspiring young person , whatever the goal. Liked, subscribed and shared
CFI is run by folks who are not interested in the sport at all. That's the bottom line. If a CFI approved race does not pay the prize money to the winners, and they do nothing about it, they lose all sanctity in being the leaders of the movement.
❤
That's quite the bullshitery from CFI. That level of incompetence is apalling and disappointing. Thank you not cutting that part out. It needs to be known by all of us and to be put out there. It almost looks like the reason for such slow progress in Indian cycling is CFI itself. Claiming to further the sport, all they want is to further their fragile egos. It's great to see so many people banding together and organising races at their respective levels, which are as competitive as national races but with much higher incentives. Who cares about a national title? These symbolisms don't matter in any space of life (apart from, of course, cycling), even interview panel (while taking college admission or so) shows interest in it for a couple minutes and moves on. It's an empty title for the majority (some people can do wonders with it though, e.g. Naveen John). Cyclists should be reciprocated monetarily for the effort and huge amount of time & money invested to be at the top level in this country. Shame on CFI.
People in positions of power sometimes don't see the bigger picture. For that, I have held a grudge against the person in power who kicked me out of the Hoshiarpur race. My grudge is against him and him alone - not the entire Federation. (It's been 7 years and I still can't get over it, lol) BUT. Honestly, the CFI is working hard, and trying to take steps in the right direction(s), and they have been doing a good job at that. But no organisation is perfect. They have made mistakes, and probably will make a few mistakes in the future as well, as every organisation does. But as long as they have the right intentions, nobody is going to complain. All I would ask for is that the Federation treats every single cyclist as its own child - takes care of them as much as possible, and helps them to continue to grow in the sport and enjoy the sport. They should be motivated to promote bicycle racing, and promote cycling as a lifestyle choice.
Sir, I hope you remember that I requested you to conduct an interview with Joel in a previous video.😃
Yes, of course, Harshal. His schedule has to match. He just came back from a successful Asian selection trials. Will get him on soon. In the meantime, you can watch/rewatch the two episodes that I've already done with him. 😊
Already finished watching both the episodes more than 3 times sir. Round 2 is my personal favourite. 😄
Thanks for the information which was very useful
Thanks. Nice. Venky, the lip sync is not matching when you speak at the studio.
