Follow along as I try to keep an ageing fleet of Jaguars on the road on a diy budget. Everything from a 1975 XJ6 that is daily driven to a few V12's and a 60's barn find Jaguar.

Adam, what spec did you tighten those camshaft nuts to? I see differing values in the various manuals.
IMHO you need longer ramps that 1100 grounded out.OR a lower system on your truck.
I have another plan. It doesn’t happen with a heavier vehicle and longer ramps would be a pain. I plan to add air shocks to the rear to be able to lower it when loading and then raise it again when I drive
Nice story Adam. Lovely man who helped you.
You got one (at the time of this video) I have 21 I think there's 2 or 3 on the way . The engines can definitely be a challenge at the best of times. Happy Christmas in 6 month .
Thank you!
Great vid👍🏻
I have an 88 XJ-S that stumped me. It was giving me a condition where it revs high and starts idle surging once warm. Usually, this symptom is a bad aav. I got a new aav and put it in, and the same thing happened. If I run the car with the aav disconnected from the intake manifold, it runs smoothly. I smoke tested the car, and there were no leaks. When I unplugged the tps to see what it would do it stopped idle surging and reved high. Do you think my tps is bad or isn't connected properly
Great story - love what you're doing. and love that your lad loved the trip.
It's great to see you taking your youngest with you and great that he behaves. I love this transporter. I can't wait for more on this.
It was a fun trip with him
Hey! So I’m having issues with my series 3, every time I start it fuel spews out of the right fuel tank, I heard you can install a Tee tank kit but do you know what could be causing this? And what I should do to fix this? You’re my only hope!
Trevlig biltransport😁👍👍
Glad to know there are still some good humans out there! Big adventure for your son. Glad the trip otherwise was a good one.
Pobody's Nerfect!
Yikes! Loose lugnuts is a bad day waitnng to happen. I'm always like "wait, whaaa?" when I hear you talk about KFC, Circle K, and all of the other American franchises that have made there way to Sweden.
Well. This Morris with short wheelbase and good ground clearance gets its underside scrubbed when loading / unloading. How you manage to load long and low Jaguars on that thing without problems is still a mystery to me. I said this since you bought the car. As said before. You must be the new David Copperfield to do this magic. And as said before, I hope I`m wrong.
👍🇦🇺
Lovely story Adam. You won't let that happen again ! A lesson learnt .😊
Awesome that someone came to help!
Hi Adam what a heart warming tale to tell and the gentleman who helped you out is a star I guess with the lugnuts coming loose it was good they did not fall off on the road even with the best will we all make mistakes so don't beat yourself up we are thankful you had such a wonderful outcome glad the truck ran well I am sure your son enjoyed the adventure as always best regards Andy Allen,
What a great story , good people do exist
I found your channel when you helped Matt FD. Goodness comes to good people
You met an angel that day who came to your rescue!
Reminds me of when I was 5 years old and my dad would take me to work with him in his 7.5 tonne truck. The health and safety Nazis would be horrified these days...
Only goes to show, there are some good people in this world still, they're just spread a little thin in my experience! I think you'll need some longer ramps on the truck, I'm pretty sure the 1300 scraped its' bottom on the way down.
That they couldn't help you at the gasstation doesn't really surprise me, but that you asked 40 motorists and no-one had one in their car is just crazy. Most people these days just call the recovery service and sit and wait for them to come and do such a simple job.
As no cars come with spares, there's no point in having a wrench, just like there's no point in having a jack either.
You may find it better with the truck facing going up hill the the angle of the ramps will be less.
That’s car karma repaying you for coming out to rescue Furious Matt in his Volvo and fix the clutch back at your workshop ! Glad the towtruck is working out and earning its keep !
Hooray for the good Samaritan! How did your son do while there was all the uncertainty? Hopefully he was happy as a clam.
He was calm and happy eating ice cream with his dad
Roof rack of cases, Wife, kids and grandparents would all squeeze into an 1100 /1300 and head to the seaside back in the day! Fond memories 😊
Gracias brother
When is the next consert😂

@@LivingWithAClassic ah okay I missed it. Thanks! Maybe you should mention how when you talk about becoming a member because KZread don't make it easy!
Typiskt med besiktningen. Har varit fram och tillbaka 3 gånger med Saaben, och varje gång har de hittat något nytt. Bilen ska såklart inte godkännas med problem, men det vore bra om de kunde hitta allt på en gång.
Håller helt med!
You know your cars !!!
Looking for XJ6 XJ12 Ignition Switch and Key DAC1605 DAC4153 1973 US car. Any Ideas?
Lovely to see you guys appreciating the beautiful Jaguars, Austin Healeys and MGs of their day! Great to know our remaining cars are in good hands over there. Could I ask: are you pouring into the expansion chamber over the radiator through choice or by recommendation? Thanks. P.S. I love your pin-sharp video; so much of a welcome relief on KZread.
Did you keep it and/or fix it?
Currently buying an engine for it ‘. It will be fixed
@@LivingWithAClassic Great! Look forward to seeing it
Top Tip:- Use those quarterlight windows, (originally marketed as 'draftless ventilation'). I enjoyed this video very much, these cars were so well conceived and well designed that good examples are capable of being 'daily' classics. My secondary passion is also for the XJ models (although I prefer the S1). (My primary passion being for the Mk X / 420G). If I had to choose between a Daimler Double-Six S1 or a Daimler Double-Six Coupé, I think that my brain might melt!
Always good to be tax free and besiknings free.
Thanks Adam .
They are perfect little cars for urban / suburban driving and outings into the country, but a bit low-geared for long Swedish journeys between cities ! Of course in Sweden you have lots of trees where you can get a branch and thrash the little red 1100 when it won’t start… like Basil Fawlty….
15:31 I could tell by your smile that the Morris passed !!!! hurray well done again !
Good to see the Morris completed and passed it's MOT look forward to seeing you with it on the transporter best regards Andy Allen.
Enjoyed the video, thanks.

Baby repairs on the baby car! 🎉
I had someone I knew years ago with a Morris minor fitted with a supercharged V8 small block Chevrolet engine set up for drag racing 👍
like 72 !
Adam, watching this, brought memories flooding back watch my late Dad working on various cars/vans with drum brakes! He had a hub tool from SP -sykes p- something- bolted it the drum and turn up against the stub, then there was a sliding hammer!. He had served his apprenticeship in a garage that was basically BMC!
Sykes-Pickavant !
I have given this a like (as I always do, already subscribed). Glad you got the Morris through it's MOT. I served my apprenticeship working on these cars. I know you are new to this car. Firstly I would like to say that there was a spanner/wrench that had a square specifically made for the adjuster and you can actually screw it right out, there is a bevelled cam that bears on the 2 collets and to adjust you screw it in until the drum locks then back it off until the drum is free to rotate, otherwise you can have too much travel at the brake pedal. There are tools for the different jobs like the spring retainers on the brake shoes. One thing that used to seize were the handbrake pivots (ducks feet) on the radius arms. One last thing, I noticed when you were using the puller you put the lug nuts on the same way they go on wheels I would put them on backwards so less chance of damaging them and the puller. Again well done on the successful MOT. Cheers.
And large flat washers.
I grew up with drum brakes . Never cared for the replacing aspect of the hardware . They were a pain . I had a 1968 Plymouth GTX 440 magnum , 4 barrel , 4 speed and positive traction rear end Dana . It came from the factory with all 4 drum brakes , Not the best stopping for all that power from the 440 magnum .
