Hello Adam . Well this was my first XJ6. A '69 series 1 Automatic .As a 23 year old in 1976 it was just wonderful in everyway . But if the power steering belt slipped as you parked up , boy did you know it ! The road holding on these original S.W.B was sublime . I was carefully driving home one very slippery rainy night with a "hot " mini behind me . As we entered a series of very tight "S" bends , the mini fell out of sight , l took no notice , but a few days later the mini owner popped into our pub and could not believe how my XJ could lieve his "hot" mini in the distance ! Thanks Adam .
Great looking Series 1. I can’t believe how many classic Jags prowl around in Sweden

More and more now thanks to Adam and his workshop !
Yes, Adam, the full video, please! My XJ6 is also an early '70 SWB 4.2 auto. A fabulous car with the original interior and I too have the original cardboard 'wrapper' holding the ignition cables in place.
A beauty. A perk of the job is experiencing all the wonderful cars.
Getting to “stage 0” is a great idea. This is a very useful topic. Go Adam Go.
Wow lovely car, when I was working as an electrician back in the UK my boss had a light blue one of those we were traveling down to a job on the south coast of England during the fuel crisis and filling up both tanks was not easy however he manage to persuade one out in the sticks garage to let him do it, BUT the station had old pumps without the cutoff, he was filling the second tank and chatting to me about the job when it overflowed ran down the rear wing and soaked his suit, the next few hours in the car we had all the windows open in the middle of winter, SUCH MEMORIES :)
Yes please! Do show as much of your maintenance activities as is practical. Been looking for one of these and it would be helpful to understand the weak points and corrective actions. Cheers!
Of all the beautiful Jaguars, the XJ series 1 is my favourite. I’ve been lucky to own two and desperately want to find a really good one to keep forever.
Please Adam-more videos of this gorgeous Series 1-XJ6, my pick as the most beautiful sedan ever made and in my preferred color combo. Would love to have one in this condition. We used to use ATF in the Stromberg dashpots on my dad's 71 Lotus Elan with Strombergs, was a little thinner than 30wt oil as per factory spec, actually helped throttle response a bit. Thanks for another fine video.
The ❤❤❤series 1 ❤❤❤ is the prettiest of them all. I think we’d all love to see as many videos as you can produce on this beautiful car.😊😊😊 #series1forthewin
Technically the XJ6 was really just built on the previous 1960's Jags but it hit the market like an express train sweeping all before it. A game changer It made a huge impression had Jaguar the production capacity to build three times the number they might have met initial demand.
Nice video Adam, and yes I like to see more on this Jaguar XJ6 series1, it's a real beauty. I like the little port windows on the front doors, great for just a bit of ventilation when you need it, nicer than the fan. I wish that the XJS Jags had that, they have the little port windows, but they don't open, permanently closed, a real shame for the I would rather have the ventilation from those windows than thru the fan ventilation system. Would be great to have the choice. Thanks for the fun video.
Hi Adam. Yes, more videos on this beauty please. Except for the paint color, it looks just like mine. They are just wonderful cars. Cheers.
I was lucky enough to drive my dads xj series 1in 1973....boy I loved it...I joined the Royal Navy and when I came out 6 years later I bought a series 2.....that car was nothing but trouble...I'm 69 now and I drive a x300 4.0ltr sport....and its a dream ...but I adored that series 1...
I love the dash layout on the Series 1 XJ Jags
Yes, to the video. Beautiful series 1 deserves it.
Great vid. I remeber them coming out. They were the thing to have. The best. There was a waiting list of several years. I've always wanted one. thanks.
That's absolutely wonderful and yes I would like to see you do the service back to zero Adam thanks for sharing this one best regards Andy Allen.
Love Serie 1's - my favourite XJ6 - 12
Yes to the zero reset video 😊
yes please as many vid as possble on this one
I think I would like to combine my XJ12C (S2) with series 1 interior. Would be the perfect mix in my opinion...
Really nice job on the interior. Just lovely. Yes, let’s see how you set up a car so all the normal wear / replace /refill items are addressed.
Thanks Adam. Please post another to update on this beauty. I have a 1970 Daimler Sovereign 2.8 and the tips are invaluable.
Yes, I would love to see more of that car. As yet, I haven't owned a Series 1 XJ. The example you have there is beautiful!
Wow, this one is really nice!
Using Rain-X on the windshield stops noisy wipers. new blades & Rain-X just the ticket! Thanks for the video Adam.
Por favor, sí prepáralo para ese estado inicial de mantenimiento!
They really are tremendous things. Imagine how good it was 56 years ago!
Wow, such a handsome car!
Hello Adam 👋.
Thank you so much! I have a very original 1972 series 1, and I'd love more videos on this car. My mechanic told me to do a head gasket since there's no record of it being done, is that something you've heard about on early XJ? This is great inspiration to me!

Hi ....if your headgasket is OK and oil and water not mixing in engine and car runs fine , i would leave well alone , my family in past have had series 1 and 2 Jags who had the head gasket changed only for it to be worse ...only change when you have a problem
This car is really awseom, I like it so much. Oh yeah, bring it back to perfection, it desearves it.
Stunning car. Who knew there were so may Jaguar enthusiasts in Sweden? 😀
I love those chrome dials.

I was very impressed of how it drove when I first got had to replace the front shocks .It needs a paint lot of $$$ body is really good it has been looked after in some stage of it's life Cheers Barry Mahan
Fantastisk!
Inside 👍😎
Thanks for the video Adam.
Hi Adam. It could be a 1970 car, mine has the same carbs, chrome dials and rear lights and was manufactured in May 1970. Thank you for all your videos, the XJ-S 3.6 Fen Air conversion was particularly useful. Would like to see anything and everything you do to the SI XJ Regards Jeff
I’d like to see you go over the car in detail next to your modified Series II XJ6 and standard XJ12 to highlight all the differences….
My mate had one it was a 1970 beautiful car but a horrible colour it was a lilac with black leather he bought it 1976 then I bought my mark 2 1974 then my first XJ6 then another on then another one then an XJS V12 then an XJS 3.8 which I thought was a better engine than the V12 great video from bonnie Scotland 🏴
Yes please, love to see the work on this car
What a beauty!!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.
Finally ser 1!!!
Une grande beauté les xj serie 1 !!...
Video approved its a classic, end of transmission, click.
Series 1 xj6 all them even our 1971 and 1972 cars had chrome rim dials, as for the rear lighr again the church window where the same . It should have a ribbed aluminium centre console around the gear sectors and electric window switches, They should also be chrome. The rear light cluster did not change from 1969 to 1973 . The change came with the series in 1973 trust me these where my childhood cars it was are staple family car . Dad change his 911 in in 1971 for a new xj6 because I was coming and he could not get the cot in 911 mum was so pissed
I’ m in search for a rear axle/differential for my Daimler v8 250. The original one has 4.55/1 ratio , and the jags Mk ll has a higher gearing. Are you able to help me in anyway? I live in Norway and as neighbors are able to cut cost for freight.Appreciate to be hearing from you
Are you using the F letter for the TH sound? Why?

Are you being an asshole? Why? I think that’s the bigger question here
