Character BUILDING

Character BUILDING

Hi There! I'm Nate. I've been in the construction industry for over 25 years. My experiences run the gamut from historical New England home restorations to commercial building in Boston, MA. I live in a beach town with my beautiful wife, two incredible daughters, and the Mighty Thor (Blue Ribbon Husky). It's basically paradise.

Right now I'm building a 320 square foot garage woodshop. So I have to be extremely creative when it comes to space saving and how things get done in there. With my new shop, not yet complete, I'll make a shop video series, a wide array of build videos, general home renovation videos, and much more.

But the twist is that all this hard work has developed my person over the years. Work ethic, principals and values...In other words it has made me the person I am today. So not only have I built tangible things, but I’ve also built character over the years. Leveled up. Upgraded!! :)

That is what I hope for you too. I hope you enjoy the show!

- Nate

That's what you get when you only build with wood a fire and the whole house is gone Here in the Netherlands the houses are made of brick only the roof and window frames are made of wood

A fire this far gone, the main thing is to protect the exposures so it doesn't spread. Especially with the wind.

4:42 Ironically, there is a fire hydrant right next to the house. I guess it was too hot to be able to use it?

It’s like the fires of hell in that house, terrifying, yet mesmerizing at the same time. Always has been my worse fear, seen fires take out multiple homes, on windy days without rain for weeks. It is so scary how fast they spread.

Wind...the enemy of every good and best called firefighting plan. Period. Dont care how many deck guns, water cannons and manpower...add high winds to the mix...its called protect exposures, watch out for brush fires, keep the crews safe.

    1. Save lives 2. Stop the fire expanding 3. Extinguish the fire or allow it to burn out in a controlled manner.

Were depends but the structure was fully involved so hitting the exposure first is critical to keeping the fire spreading, once more lines are charged they can knock down the main fire...wasting water on a fully involved house achieves little and leaves the exposure vulnerable to radiant heat or flame impingement....this crew were struggling to get there lines sorted out, 1 line to begin attack, then add lines once your got water on the exposure
