I have a simple question: If I release a remix of a famous song by a well-known international singer, can I add the name of this singer’s artist as a feature/ another Primary on Spotify? Or am I required to prove approval from this artist, even if he has died?! (I'm talking about mega-star artists) Sometimes the song is released without problems, but recently my song was deleted from all platforms. I re-wrote it musically for Freddie Mercury after it achieved more than 30,000 streams. My question is, does the LANDR save me from the problems I face with my current distributor? or do I need a license for each song to publish the song without adding the artist's name?!
Which platform has better customer service when they mess up and upload your music to the wrong artist
Check out Distro by Benton.
does cd baby have integration with meta/fb pixel? so you can put a pixel on your streaming landing page and connect it with your meta ad campaign?
Go with CD Baby it's cheaper & they actually pay you.
CD Baby is King 👑
A great video, thank you! As far as KZread monetization comparisons, I believe Distrokid takes 20% (in addition to the $7.75 you pay yearly for the service) while CDBaby takes 30% (no extra service cost, but you have to opt-in to add the service to your digital distribution release).
Nice video!
Thank you for this well paced insightful and easy to understand review. Clearly you are Landr leaning and likely will be what I choose.
Awesome! Quick question: can you have 2 primary artists on a song that is not featured but instead both artist composed the song in a collab, can you use the Distribution Basic plan or do you need to pay $10 for the additional artist to be on the song as Primary instead of “Featured”?
How to white list my channel/songs?
Ryan, I have a question about Copyrights type. If I used Toontrack EZdrummer 3 on a song would I check the box "The track contains royalty-free samples"? Thank you for this excellent video.
If you are using it as a virtual instrument that is triggering individual instrument samples via midi, then you would check the first box. If you are dragging completed samples (complete beats/finished audio) from a library, then you would check the second box.
I have a question, can i submit my song to ANY type of curator playlist if it's already been released? I know you said you can't but not any form of it at all?
Thank you for this! For mechanical royalties- do you know if I can get paid retroactively if I have tunes that have amassed some plays but I haven’t reached to MCL etc? Thanks so much !
I love how the Spotify for artists page itself wasn't fucking accurate or updated. Thank you for this.
2020 I was banned by distrokid, I was here watching your video, years later now I’m looking for a new distribution service. Here you’re 🎉❤
hmm question. how good is unchained music distro?
It’s my first time hearing of them actually.
20 percent discount off of what?? am i the only one who watched the entire video to not ever hear the actual price of landr distribution??
The price depends on what features you choose! I cover it all in depth in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5WazMZ8h9PWY5M.html
hmm ai cover generator is gone but i recommend to use midjourney
Hmm maybe they are only testing it in some accounts? I like midjourney too!
@@IndieMusicAcademy but i had it few weeks ago is it like numbers of limits are you moving to landr from awal
I'm going to be using LANDR for all my cover song distribution. I'm going to keep my existing songs on AWAL but future originals will probably be on LANDR too since I wanna use their mastering in my workflow after I do an initial "tonal" master myself.
@@IndieMusicAcademy just a heads up i been experiance now for years of bad support noi refund just bad support littelery im jelous of you being on AWAL
my band is using landr for our distribution, do you know if i can use that same account to upload to a different artists account? i didn't quite get how that works or is it one landr acc per artist acc
was wondering about this too, it’d be cool if u could upload to multiples artists accounts with one account like Distrokid
You can! I talk about that quite a bit in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5WazMZ8h9PWY5M.html
@@IndieMusicAcademy thanks!
Is the $15 cover song clearance the same for a clearance on a sampled beat?
They are usually not interchangeable and not the same thing.
Now im ready to move my music
4:38Today is June 24th 4:38pm 2024 not December 31st instagram have been circulateting december 31st for a long time how can instagram data be accurate if ther date is not
Can u help me
DistroKid has zero humans.
DISTROKID HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
I tried distrokid and they took the initial payment but refused to take anything else. their main line is disconnected and customer service is crap. DO NOT USE DISTROKID
Hi! I know sometimes people get there songs removed from Spotify from false copyright strikes, false bot streams (that the artists themselves did not buy or setup), and etc. how does one go about being able to put their music back up onto Spotify if all there songs get removed unfairly? Thanks
thank you for doing this really is a good investigation
Thank you!
This was super helpful! I have been putting off copywriting my masters for so long because I didn't know all of the details, but you answered all of my questions and now I can get to work. Thank you !
Hi, my first song recntly been added to a few playlists i suspect are fake and got alot of streams from them, i think the majority of streams for the realese by now. do you know if theres any action i can take against it? maybe report it somehow? couldnt find in spotify for artists anything about it. and since its most of my streams im afraid i might get banned or something even thogh i had nothing to do with it :/ anyways thanks for the help with everything :)
So I’m a new artist I think I may try this it seems like the least scam one I’ll let yall know how it goes
Don't choose this distributor they permit artist to steal other people's names and then they load them up to KZread Attempting to hijack your channel real losers
Play live...be in front of people...connect with them...
Did this video address publishing royalties? The CD Baby Pro option where they become your publisher and submit everything to ASCAP or BMI for you. CDB takes 50% of your publishing, Distrokid takes nothing and you set up your own music pro account for a one time fee and you are your own 100% owned publisher of your own music.
Ouahh...it's great to hear it❤ thanks
Great info. if I do studio pro subscription and then next year I want to change to standard, can I do it? thank you in advance
Do Landr bills their users for Canada government taxes (their headquarters are in canada?) , deducting automaticly from your royalty gains, even for non-canadian users? I saw that Distrokid, which is based in NY has been doing that, charging 30% and it really sucks. For that I would never sign with them
Ouahh ❤ so usefull
So like how i regester with jcap in jamaica. ? Can i also regester with these 2 u recomended
Went for Landr. Nice support, nice pricing
nice videos editing... y've must be boring doing that...
WAVR decided to bot 2 of my songs against my will. I contacted both Spotify and my distributor after noticing the bot streams and both of them told me that they can't do anything about it and that my music won't be effected. Unfortunately, those songs were on 2 different albums and now both albums have been removed. The kicker is that there's nothing that can be done to resolve this issue. Think it's time to go back to Soundcloud at this point... :/
Thanks for the video Ryan. Looking at some internet information on Landr, I noticed a stipulation that claims to close accounts after 90 days inactivity. My only question is: what constitutes an ‘inactive’ account?
Who can I report a music distributor to?
Never heard of LANDR before. Is the standard price $12/month and Studio Pro $16?
Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 this was incredibly helpful “through the mountains ahead, we’ll keep moving on”
Symphonic or tunecore???🫣🙄😉
Great video :)
No oneRPM or INgrooves/Virgin? We just left the latter after many years and many layoffs, but I'd love to see someone tear into them.
