Hello fellow amateur historians and ancient/medieval scholars!!! My name is Nick Barksdale and like you, I have a passion for ancient and medieval history and so, I created this channel: The Study of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The focus of this channel is history plain and simple and all of the facts and theories that come with it. From documentaries, academic lectures and video commentaries, I want to talk about what we love and hopefully even touch on subjects you haven't even thought about. I'm sorry but I have to ask this question. Wouldn't it has been easier for the ancient people of Ireland to do a relatively short and easy sea trip for a sea fearing people of ' the sunken Atlantian islands ' , or to cross God knows what hardships and hostiles , as well as all numinous hindrances from natural geographic landscape and water boarders between the middle east and the farthest reaches of the English islands?? It's a far better assumption to say they both had a common origin .

I think some things have been forgotten or missed. The population of Scotland that was subjected to forced mass immigration to the Americas, Africa, India and Australia (the colonies basically) has been forgotten about. From 16th century onwards (especially during 17/18th century during the uprising (Culloden & bonnie prince Charlie era)). Scotland's highlands were cleared of long-standing families for sheep and profit. For the complete picture of Pictish heritage, you would need to look elsewhere in the world at the people who were descendants of these migrations, in areas that were part of the colonies, Americas, Australia, S.Africa, India etc. To put some complex to that, Scotland today only has 6-7 million people, London alone has 10 million+ and England as a whole has 66.6 Million. Scotland's population is mainly in the central belt (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Falkirk areas), but it is still very sparse elsewhere.

The only problematic thing is you. North Africa has a very clear and distinct lineage that’s different from the regions that are south of the Sahara. The culture is different. The DNA is different. Not one tribe has oral tradition about any of this lol. It usually only goes back around 2k yrs. tho. That's when all tribes I know of, mine included all say ..some 2k yrs ago, when we first entered this land...or any variation of. I was walking up the bank of a local river and looked down to find a 10k yr old scraper, made of red and white Kansas Chert (highly prized I'm told) That land is a sod farm. The Osage moved in and made home upon a platform mound along the Verdigris River. This land belonged to the Cherokee. While the Osage men were out on a hunting party, the Cherokee attacked. The Chief is credited with saving many children and women, by sending them off to a nearby cave (I can't find it for the life of me, but...) The Chief is supposed to be buried inside a dug out/cut out area of the mound, that was used for food storage, but is where he hid many children during the attack. Is he really buried there? Hell if I know. It's privately owned land. ON Cherokee Reservation Land. Kinda sux to not even be able to go onto your own land but it is what it is. Many have been on the mound. SWIM has too :) The Archaeological Society went over that place yrs ago. There's pics of what they found, but they look like ...let's say...volunteers lol.
