    I just use dedicated batteries for my electronics. It's actually 2 power wheels batteries. I'm only running 2 graphs though. The longest I ran them without recharging was about 16hrs over 2 days. I kept noticing some feed back from the trolling motor when it and the electronics were on the same batteries.

    I did the same wiring upgrade on my boat myself including having its own battery and it made quite a difference. I was getting low battery warnings on my two Solix before and now everything is running great. I advise anyone with a older boat or one that has a lot of electronics to get this upgrade. They will see a difference.

    Depending on where you are in the country. Up here in PA, Bluegill will spawn about 3 times from Spring to Fall. Spawn is triggered usually by the first full moon after your major temperature transitions (spring to summer, summer, summer into fall). Using bluegill is a great way to catch decent sized bass and larger, as the bass shift to eating larger prey 3-4" size bluegill, tadpoles, etc, once they enter the 12-14" inch range. Which means using a nice realistic bluegill crank will very rarely yield what we call "a dink" lol. -Fun fact: return to bluegill spawning spots after the early spawn as the first spawn of the year (spring) will happen before the bass, and some bass will actually "take over" or re use a bluegill bed for spawning. In other words, you can get a good idea where to find big spawning bass before the spawn even starts. :-)

    The wacky rig is about the only thing I could get bit on yesterday, although I did have some early morning luck on a ghost gill pattern choppo 70, which I'd highly recommend to anyone fish around bluegill beds. Bluegills seem to be the primary forage around my way(southwestern Virginia).

    There is a deer, looks like a doe, over your right shoulder, that has been casually drinking and slowly walking around. It was a bit of a distraction, but I hit rewind and paid attention to you. Big Catfish and Bass will hit a Bluegill under a float in the summer usually around dark when they come in shallow to feed.

    Congrats bro, waiting to graduate from my condo, to a house, before I invest in a nucanoe and or a small bassboat/pelican/John boat, hopefully this winter, there is only so much u can do from the bank, ohh the fish are post spawn and in 6-12 foot of water, good luck, maybe I can reach that area w my best cast from a good area on the bank, I still catch fish when I go, usually, but man it can be frustrating sometimes, I feel like it’s luck, they are either near the spots I can access, or they are not, which takes the element of “finding them” out of the equation, and that’s the most exiting/rewarding part of fishing IMO, sorry for the rant, happy you got your kayak brother, good luck out there and be safe!!!!!

  • @adammitchell3462
    @adammitchell34622 күн бұрын

    @@johnlee7622 yeah,you'd definitely be able hit spots that are completely unreachable from the bank. If I had the means,I'd get something bigger than a kayak because those big ones will absolutely take you for a ride lol but definitely get off the bank.

    Two of the best topwater baits are the Fred Arbogast Jitter Bug and the Heddon Crazy Crawler. These have been my go-to topwater plugs for fifty years and they have never let me down. One improvement I made years ago was going to a large, black, jointed Jitter Bug, which worked even better than the straight one. You should check out Bass Masters Magazines back in the mid 1980s. I seem to remember something along that line of night feeding bass, but my memory is much worse than yours.

    Jig and spinner baits are the only two baits I have in my arsenal that I've never caught a darn thing with. I used to have three baits that I never caught anything with. That third bait was a chatter bait, then one day out of the blue I finally got a bite with it. After that day all of the sudden I routinely started catching fish on chatter baits and I don't know why or how I was actually able to finally get a fish to bite using this bait. I'm hoping the same things will happen with my jigs and spinner baits.

    You need to find the right situation for them. They don't work all the time. Use a spinner bait when it's super windy in the fall or in the spring. The jig worked for me using it around cover and throwing into pockets in grass
