All the people screaming about it are just mad it's forcing them to think about the X-Men franchise with an adult mindset without the obvious narratives flying over their heads because they only ever interacted with it as 10 year olds. It's still the same at its core, and that's great.

Honestly the hulk has been really disrespected and MCU, with the addition of She-Hulk it's just obvious they just do not care.

I never liked the fact that the hulk takes over Banners body. It is sad. No matter how slice it, the hulk is not real. He is a split personality of Banner. He is the coping mechanism of an unhealthy mind. Banner surrenders the part of himself that he sees as prodominantly him to his alter. Even if there is some healthy middle ground to be had there, this to me was alwaysbsad and quite tragic for banner to be stuffed away and honestly never gets to really have his own place on the team

If we ever get Earth’s Mightiest Heroes back, I want the first episode to be the Avengers fighting a whole bunch of their villains and to put the cherry on top, Thor should have a "Give ‘em the forecast” moment like Storm did in 97 Just to remind everyone that he is still the God of freakin’ Thunder

I feel like there is such a thing as negative press(haha). Before I used to think of an ipad as a tool, but now I think of it as the replacement of all the things I like with technology... I dont want to support that. Clearly the idea isn't "big things made small" because they could have done a cgi thing where the items don't get destroyed, but just squished down as if they were rubber

People just want to complain, it’s a great ad, only real problem is it’s a ripoff of a Nintendo ad for Pokémon Red & Blue, I bet all the haters are android users aka people who would never buy Apple products in the first place.

I think that the trick was, that X-men 97 was a direct continuation instead of an adaption or reboot. which means that they could to later season storylines in season 1 instead of bogging things down with origin stories and starter villains.

The season one finale was one of the most emotionally impactful episodes of a show I've ever seen, but honestly the finale for this season hit even harder for me. It's one thing to see what that type of external turmoil does to a character but another entirely when the turmoil is on the character themself. While the thread of the season did seem a little weaker than the first, I think the payoff tied it together in such an amazing and horrific way and listening to Mark trying to explain his own actions to himself after the fact was truly gut wrenching. Massive props to the writers, it takes a lot of dedication and care to pull something like that off

People who are not true Seinfeld do not understand Seinfeld or do not like it. Most people who watched the finale are not Seinfeld fans. The finale fitted perfectly to the show and it was funny in Seinfeld style that non-Seinfeld fans do not get.

I mean the key thing that separates this from the more depressing nihilistic shows out there like Bojack Horseman, Family Guy, and Rick and Morty is the main characters are actually nice people. The boss isn’t cruel, Charlie and Alan may not be as happy and friendly as Pim but they’re hardly as bad as genuinely cruel characters out there. I feel like that makes this show very different

For me the thing was the animator’s desk. Also, it’s real nice to know that creativity is getting squashed by the thing that habitually farts out its Wifi.

I'm an artist who has used an ipad for digital art for 6 years now. I didn't have the same visceral reaction to the ad that everyone did, but I can definitely understand and validate it. One thing that I have complained about for years now that I think is relevant to this discussion though is that while apple LOVES to market their devices as being for artists and creatives, their features and upgrades with each new model do not really cater to us as the actual target customer. The new apple pencil? not backwards compatible. Useful software for creating? Either far inferior to a desktop version or behind a monthly subscription. Information about specs artists care about like RAM? Hard to find and hidden under discussion about cameras and silicon. There's no doubt that the ipad is and has been an incredibly powerful and impressive device. But they have been for years outside of conversation with creatives, even though they use us for their advertising. Being impressed with the devices doesn't help me as a customer when these are hard to repair when they break, hard to keep up with updates to industry standards regarding software, and so lacking in attention to quality-of-life. And anyone who is a working creative like me can tell you, quality of life in your workflow IS time and money. I have a lot of disdain for how Apple uses people like me as press fodder for business practices which undermine my work and my industries and the tools I use to do it. It's incredibly backhanded. We're good enough to put on the graphics but not good enough to be taken seriously as users.

The add feels dystopian as fuck "big things being shrunk into one small thing" can be portrayed in so many better ways. It reminds me a lot of the PROJECT33 car enthusiast dystopia video where they are confiscating and destroying people's project cars.

I love this show. I put off watching it after I guessed the first season plot twist (they're actually in hell) from the trailer. I was worried how long that plot point would drag on and when it would be revealed to the audience. I also am like weirdly defensive about Sartre's No Exit (on which it is loosely based as it is about three people that basically believe they are in a waiting room in the afterlife and are so brilliantly crafted to poke each other's sore spots and make each other miserable, also where "Hell is other people" quote comes from and I could go on way too long about how the line was said by a character, but the message was more about the ontological problem of defining ourselves through another's perception of us, basically meaning by being obsessed with other people's opinions of us we put ourselves through hell...anyway, I digress....) so was not sure how I'd feel about it. But after the full thing was put on Netflix I finally caved in and watched it and it was so good. And I loved how they covered different philosophers (my philosophy minor actually got some use) and it actually made me really happy because I feel like it really kind of had its own twist from the original No Exit, where instead of the twist being they were keeping themselves in Hell or that other people are hell, that in a way "salvation is other people" because as much as they drove each other crazy, they made each other better. And it actually almost seems to have like the opposite message of No Exit, because through seeing themselves through the other's eyes, they realized what they could do to be better but also ways in which they were already good. Ugh. I could go on, but I will spare the comment section.

17:00 the XMen were def pushing boundaries before I was born. They had female characters who weren’t just love interests or getting fridged, they have an incredibly diverse cast, and they had covers with Jean and Storm on them during a time people weren’t just putting women by themselves or black women on comic book covers. There’s def times where they’re just goofy and times when it’s serious stuff and I think that potential is why so many great stories have come out of it.
