Talking watches in a hopefully not pretentious and joyful way. My goal is to showcase watches the way they deserve to be shown: their unique purpose, functions and beauty.

So the sporty part was only G-Shock, what about the famous dive watch Duro, the Luminox look-a-like the MRW-200H.

Good video and comparison 😊 I agree with your points. Spend a few hundred more and pick up a microbrand GMT and the lines get blurred even more.

I bought my 2006 Seamaster 300 2531.80, full set - last year for £2000 from eBay, with Authenticity verified. I had a collection of cheaper watches, sold most of them and decided to buy my first watch costing more then £1000 - well, I found this, still think it was a good deal. I still have a small watch collection, but I mostly rotate between this, a Tag Chronograph and just recently got myself a Bulova GMT. At the moment I have my 3 watch collection; OK, I have more watches, but they all sub £150 and the only reason I keep them is memories... price wise Bulova was the cheapest, then Tag and the Omega being the most expensive one. I won't count my fitness watch, as that is only used for my personal suffering to stay in shape. Funny thing is, if you are the type of person who needs compliments regarding the watch you are wearing, this Omega is a sleeper and nobody really pays attention to it, unless other Omega or watch collectors.

BB58 has too much gilt - less gilt on the bezel is better imo. The combo of white in the bezel with the gilt on the dial for the 54 works super well 👌🏻

The love for the F1 will prolly wear out as soon as it starts to break…I had several back in the ‘90’s and everyone one broke in a different way…often bezel related…then I had a few more higher end tag heuer watches and those broke as well. One of them had the bezel just fall off on a beach in Hawaii…and it disappeared in the sand. It’s kinda newb to be in love with crappy watches most watch people figured out were hot garbage 20+ yrs ago

Saludos from El Salvador!!! Big fan of you. And. Your channel. I have a 1990s Santos Dumont 1575-1 in Platinum I found in a local jewelry store and it’s being repaired in Cartier. I’ve never liked small watches but I’m looking forward to seeing the end result and trying it on fully repaired. Take care.

Swiss watches, or better, swiss timepieces of shit are garbage, obviously, you just have to truly observe it to conclude it, asian watches are much better, much better, and the great champion of the swiss fraudulent watch industry is Rolex, obviously, Rolex is the epitome of the gigantic fraud that the swiss watch industry is!

Rolex is just a good watch, the Submariner was $900 USD in 1979, this watch should be $1800 USD now not $9737.00 for the no date Sub.

I had an original (used) F1 that my dad gave me as a teen and I loved it. A few years ago, I gave it to my youngest daughter who always was borrowing it. And I kind of missed it! So when Kith/Tag dropped their collab, I put my name in and was thrilled to win a chance to buy one (Paris). For me it was a great pickup bc now I have something my teen and I can share. If you grew up with these watches, you get it. It’s about nostalgia. Pure collectors will never understand and that’s fine by me. ✌️

I wish Rolex would make smaller Explorer II’s. The 42mm Explorer II is way too big and chunky. But, my biggest gripe with Rolex aside from the buying experience, is that I just can’t spend $6400++ for a fine Swiss watch with a plain solid caseback. If I’m paying so much I want to see the movement I’m buying and it better be decorated to some degree. This is an absolute deal breaker and I can’t believe so many people don’t care and give Rolex their money and never get to enjoy seeing inside. Weird.

I like some Rolex models. Where I live many people wear a Rolex to flex, which is not how I want to be perceived. I would rather not get mugged either so I could not always wear it when I want to. For me there are too many downsides to wearing one.

I completely agree. A company that makes clothing, shoes, and perfumes cannot make good watches, as they do not have their own mechanisms, so they use quartz. They are bought by narcissists and limited people who have a superficial view of the world.

What sucks is I’ve been a watch fan for over a decade. But I’m also a data driven optimizing person. I can’t give up my Apple Watch as much as I’ve thought about it. Hard to explain the feeling of telling my watch to do something and it getting done. Even simple things like adding something to the grocery list. Can I do it with my phone. Yes. But man is it satisfying to just raise my wrist and talk to Siri. I’ve spent many Rolex’s of money buying the new watch every year. It’s a problem. But whatever.

Rolex objectively better? Sure. 23x better - never. Heck, I’d argue the Seiko is overpriced, too; $400 USD without sapphire crystal? I know - that’s a Seiko thing but leads me to reject them too.😊
