    Hey there, at 15:10 i noticed that your red pins appear like they arent held up by one of the supplied hex nuts. How are you keeping the pin from falling out the bottom of the hole in the metal support without the nut as a stopper? I thought one nut was meant to go under the rubber tube below the metal support, and the other would go above the metal support to hold the pin in place

  • @NouveauPoore
    @NouveauPoore19 күн бұрын

    After thinking about it a bit more, are you using the washer as the stopper since it can't move past the flared end of the pin, and using the nuts on the bottom of the pin?if so, has this given you the expected security and reliability? My reason for asking is that I'm using these same pins and I find that if I use the nut above the support, the pins are too high to close the hood even at its lowest. Since the catch is flush with the hood, I'm worried that if I cut the hood, the catch won't be able to latch due to the extra length

  • @wrenchrampage
    @wrenchrampage18 күн бұрын

    Yes. The flat head part of the pin is actually wider than the threaded body of the fastener. I just went to a hardware store and got a washer that would slide over the threaded part but wedge into the flat part (which is wider) i found i needed to do this so i could mount the pin as low as possible.

  • @wrenchrampage
    @wrenchrampage18 күн бұрын

    I have had it this way for quite a while, drove the car a lot, i have no concerns about the pins failing this way. I ran into the same issue, i needed the pins as low as possible. This was the solution.

    Did the centers of the covers sit more “flat” after some use? If not do you think some spray adhesive would hold the centre of the covers more flat against the seat? I’ve been thinking about it but I’m pretty particular and I don’t like the “wrinkled” look.

    I think if i were to do it again i would take the pass throughs to a shop and get them wrapped professionally. I really dont think you can get them completely smooth at home. Over time they will likely flatten out a bit after getting some heat from the sun but i dont think they'd ever be perfectly flat.

Is there a sleeve that goes in the front mount? Your vid at 3:30 shows the different size holes. Thanks in advance if you can help. Rich.

    Sick evo 5. Do you know if the evo 8 transfer case and trans would bolt up to the evo 4, 5, 6? I'm looking at options for my evo 4 if something happens to go wrong. Kind of a random question, but I can't find much info about it!

  • @wrenchrampage
    @wrenchrampage2 ай бұрын

    The trans is basicly the same 4-9 so that will work fine. The t case 7-9 is diffrent and would require a custom front sub frame to use. However it will physicly bolt up to the trans and engine... but wont work with the 4 sub frame.

Id grab the part number off that, then request the part through Amayama as they will be able to search the mitsubishi Japan database. Honestly i would think red ones would be left if they made them. Not a common color.

    How much power can the crank, rods and pistons hold on this kit.

  • @wrenchrampage
    @wrenchrampage3 ай бұрын

    @@pdpd-cx2pf im shooting for 700 wheel and 6xx tq on e85 @ 8000-8500 rpm limit. The trans is rated at 700tq. I am not concerned at the limits of the tomei parts at this level. When i was putting the package together there was no power rating listed from Tomei however there are builds in the 9xx range with this assembly in asia. I believe this will hold my power levels just fine.
