Every left winger is bandaid skum!! Just kidding. Here's my response to this video, going point by point: 1) one of the functions of early police forces in many states was to perform slave patrols. even though this is not the case in every state, it is not grounds to sweep this fact about its origins under the rug when it was quite common. this guy also seems to equate the 13th amendment with the end of racism.."[after legal slavery ended, cops still existed, therefore policing doesn't have racist origins]".. i don't think i need to expand on why that is fallacious reasoning.. 2) note that he never rebutts the claim that policing is classist. one of the functions of early policing was to disrupt (often violently, and with lethal force) union activity, at the request of companies who did not want their employees to be (or become) unionized. police protected the interests of the rich at the expense of the poor 3) the Left is not a homogenous group who all share the same viewpoint. not everyone on the left wants to abolish the police. however, some do, and there currently exist suggested alternatives to the current system/s of policing and incarceration. at this point in time we just don't know whether or not POCs would be "safer" under the current methods or using an alternative method, but it's not a blank check to suggest that humans will never be able to come up with an acceptable alternative.. do you think policing will look the same a thousand or even fifty years from now? some form of evolution is inevitable 4) the 13th amendment made slavery illegal EXCEPT AS A PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME.. that's a pretty noteworthy exception, especially when you consider that in the usa there are privately owned for-profit prisons. the usa also has the highest rates of imprisonment in the world. plus a disproportionate amount of inmates are black and/or poor, and a majority are imprisoned for nonviolent offenses. in many cases, these businesses are making a profit from their free labor (legal slave labor, according to the us constitution) 5) not everyone on the left thinks that every cop is automatically a bad person. some do. and some think that regardless of a cop's intentions or personal beliefs or values, by the very act of being police officers, they directly impose the will of the state/the wealthy onto the common people/the poor. that said, how is it surprising that there will inevitably be some amount of POCs who become police officers? I'm sure there are people who become cops for motives other than wanting to hurt POCs or people in general. among those on the left who consider police to be an arm of state violence, i think most would not be shy to admit that a POC can become a pawn of the system just as easily as a white person can. although I'm pretty sure that the only reason this guy even mentioned this point is that he has such an unrealistically low opinion of people with left-wing or even left-leaning views that he thinks he will short-circuit something in our brains with the mere suggestion that there could be POCs taking part in something that can be harmful to other POCs, or to poor people vzzt⚡🤯⚡vzzt oh no

This is dead right and much more right than National Review's editors. This is not a restriction against free market competition. Desantis' move is to prevent regulating cattle ranching out of existence. The Davos crowd is ramming down all forms of rationing of necessities for no good reason other than their own Malthusian paranoia. It is easy for Billionaires to think about replacing externalities with higher costs, but what they are really doing is telling poor people that they can't have things that they want and pricing the lower supply into a market only the rich can participate in. These shmoes aren't going to be giving up steak. They're going to eat the niche produced steak that no one else can afford, while the rest of us eat either bugs, tofu or test tube protein that will never have the testing necessary to determine what the long term health harms will be on the poor. Thanks for the video Carolyn, and you should buy the farm next to Brett, if you haven't already.

Don`t use Trade Republic. It turns out that which broker you invest with is just as important as which stocks you buy. Trade Republic replaced one of my stock purchase invoices four days later at very unfavorable terms. The invoice stood for four days with the real buy-in price. On the fourth day it was replaced. In addition, I was denied login into the app when the share reached the already distorted high price. This meant that I was unable to sell my position in a timely manner due to Trade Republic and now I have to bear the loss that Trade Republic caused for the exact same position. Unfortunately the operational risk (employees, technology) is too high with this broker.

4:46 They didn’t choose that path, they probably had no other choice since nobody else would hire them. It’s the market’s fault, not their fault. All that matters is that people work hard, regardless of the field in which they are employed. This creep here is just trying to cover up for the greed and reckless behaviour of the insurance and drug companies who are ripping the American people off.

Peace. Even our canines know who are males and who are females. Why are so many of western societies confused? Air and water pollution? Food deficiencies? Too many creative movies, imaginative entertainment? Without interference and camoflage by adults, most of our progeny know who are the men and who are the women. Peace.

Yes!! Absolutely! Every bit is part of the globalist agenda and if they can control the food supply they can control the people!! Global warming is bull crap they have been controlling the weather of the world for decades! The only thing that we have a problem with is global elites trying to do anything to control the world! Cashless society and meatless society means they have full control and can make all people dependent and they have unlimited power! Don’t like your opinion we cut off your food/ not towing the line we cut off your money! All of this is a communist ploy to crush the world under their heels!

A ban on a "food substance"(it's not meat) completely created by humans isn't bad? Lady, ask a European how they feel about the diet that keeps us alive. They visit, ask around. Not only do we eat unregulated, cancer causing garbage with a smile, we'll sue you for making fat jokes about us. If it lands, it lands, we are Americans after all. Desantis hasn't banned any food in the past, just like he isn't now. I'm not eating any bugs, lab cloned or grown meat and I'm definitely not getting pissy that a politician is actual trying to stop unhinged scientists from flooding the market with this "renewable" (read: money making) resource that the "scientists" just figured out.

I don't know about well-to-do urban millennials, maybe they have spare income after their boomer parents sold the third rental house and helped them with their down-payment, but neither I nor any of my friends have the spare income to be spending several nights a month at a "third place". 90% of these social problems can be collapsed into "everyone is poor now".

I think another thing that happens is because of the internet we can easily fall into niche groups of people where it's hard to meet someone. And the taboos of meeting someone irl vs online. there is a lot of stress in how people will perceive a man walking up and talking with a woman.
