Adding the trans colors to the LGBT flag implies that trans people aren’t LGBT, which is clearly absurd. The rainbow flag was enough and, frankly, perfect for its inclusive symbolism.

I hate this because the more you try to 'include' by explicitely mentioning it, the more you actually exclude by shining light on this and that group, but not on three dozen others. "Everyone" is tons more inclusive than "everyone and black and hispanic and gay and trans and introverted and overweight and anarexic and autistic and homeless and wealthy and catholic"

The flag is having an identity crisis.

The rainbow colour gay flag is been marred. I am gay and it is despicable that these other groups have leached on our flag. Shameful. All the work we did to move forward with rights, etc. Do not leach onto our flag and drag us down with your issues. An added note the government has done everything to split groups out against each other in the country

It was to celebrate this victory that we have achieved and as a symbol of freedom that the pride flag was created. Almost all groups and minorities within the society have their own symbols to represent themselves, not just us (Eg:- The clenched fist for feminists) and I have never seen a person question them about anything related to it. The problem with pride flag is that there are no rules, so therefore it can be changed. It’s followers can be manipulated. Someone could say oh pride is about sacrificing your favorite pet once a year. Pride is about burning down churches to free you from oppression. Anyone can join. The pride flag keeps changing. None of the colors are set in stone. A powerful influencer could put a goat head on it and everyone else would follow. The purest children can easily be manipulated into joining LGBT. That’s why it’s dangerous. A 6yr old kid who would’ve been the next president gets tricked into thinking he’s a girl. The teachers and his parents tell him oh you would look so pretty in a dress. You show signs of being a “she”. By the times he’s 13 he would realize he’s actually been a boy this whole time and his whole identity would be baseless. He’d be too afraid to speak up, too shameful having to keep dresses in his closet only to wear them in his sleep, and put on work clothes in the day.

It is a counterfeit of joy, the enemy has nothing original.

They will never agree....

Mix all the colors together and you get fecal brown.

The LGBT flag should be to represent all of the community. What has happened is that other external groups have attached themselves to the community and have started spreading their own ideologies under the shade of it so that if a person is to speak against them, it would be considered as homophobic. This itself has placed the entire community under a bad light. The original rainbow flag is to symbolise all of the suffering that our community went through for decades fighting for our rights and to receive our rightful place in the society and as a symbol of peace. My belief is that the original rainbow flag is what truely represents our community and that no alteration should be done to it. 🏳️‍🌈

The emphasis is on sexual identity more so than race. I don't want to be represented by a flag that was conceived to show pride in having sex with someone of your same sex. Don't let this "who you love" business confuse you, you don't have to be in love with someone to have sex with them.

The "pride flag" is the opposite: it is a symbol of defiance against a common cultural identity; a symbol of the rejection of tradition. It will constantly change and will never have permanence because at its root is an ideology of self-centeredness, contempt, and discontent.

Actually, the color test pattern has a very specific technical purpose every color even the order they are in is important in calibrating tv equipment.

I clearly understand the usage in calibration. The "joke" (I was quoting btw, not MY joke) was about its "visual appeal" or lack thereof. Did you "get" the "joke"? Are you devoid of a sense of humor? Did the joke or the comment mention that the "test pattern" was useless or had no purpose? When I was living in San Francisco in the 90's, the Rainbow Flag was only flown in the Castro (the "gay" neighborhood). Fast forward 30 years and it is being hung at the White House. So sad.

LOL at "destined to fail,,, been going strong since 1978 . ORIGINAL Color meanings = red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, indigo for harmony, and violet for spirit.

The Philadelphia and Pride Progress flags were meant not to indicate any kind of deficiency or non-inclusion by the regular Rainbow Flag, but to give special emphasis to first people of color, and then to transgender and intersex people. It's not a contest, and the regular Rainbow Flag remains perfectly fine. As for the number of stripes being reduce from eight down to six, that was a change done by original Rainbow Flag designer Gilbert Baker back in the 1970s. He eliminated a couple of fabric colors that were not as easy to find. It didn't affect the intended meaning of the flag at all. If the U.S. flag truly represented everyone, then anti-LGBT+ discrimination would not continue to exist, and the Republican Party would not still be refusing to pass the Equality Act.
