That is absolutely right! They believe every other point of view is subjective, that there are only subjective points of view, except theirs. They believe that there is no such thing as truth except for there philosophy, which they give the status of absolute truth! Then they describe that contradiction as being an oxymoron! The only truth they acknowledge is relative truth and that can only be said in a very soft voice. That is why they are so accurately portrayed by the caricature of a spoilt child in a screaming fit. The groups think he was discussing prior to that was assuming someone holds a particular view based on being lumped into a group of people who share an often immutable characteristic or interest. _All_ humans know what the sky is but we'd be asking questions if someone was stating its actually the ocean, vs a notion that all redheaded people must believe in the tooth fairy simply because of their hair colour.

Dr. Kathleen Cleaver, human rights activist, and former member of the black Panther party, first coined the term woke, back in the 1960’s, during the civil rights movement. The word has a meaning in the dictionary. Interesting how he avoids mentioning the meaning of the word entirely and then (with no source even mentioned) says someone said stuff. Yet even if they were as dumb as he portrays them, words do not change meaning simply because some random person doesn't know the meaning. This is the bane of people who support burning dictionaries, hiding history, and other truths they're uncomfortable with.

that last comment was the most spot on ive heard someone be about the whole gender issue. suddenly we are all supposed to pretend we understand something we know nothing about (trans) while at the same time pretending to not understand something we all did up until yesterday (gender, male/female). literally cant say it any better or more truthfully.

A straw-man is intentionally misinterpreting the opponents argument so you end up arguing something much easier for you and harder for them. The problem with stereotyping is that it's always done unconsciously. No one thinks they stereotype. Including you. Only "other people" ever stereotype....of course. And there ARE stereotypes, because most people are sheep and allow someone else to do their thinking and stereotyping for them. Of course they look down on 'stereotyping' as well, but only when those "other people" do it in a way that offends them personally.

As far as I can tell it started with activist groups who weaponised social media to bully anyone who disagreed with them. They discovered that they could use deceitful language to get someone cancelled. Thus someone who expresses disagreement is problematic, a bigot, saying unacceptable things which cause hurt and distress. Companies jumped on board as they didn’t want their brand damaged. And of course fellow travellers are feted, and welcomed.
