As I see it we need to see who we could get for Taylor and Grandall. Neither have been able to hit and Grandall is only fair at best defensively. Bring Delay back up and get a bat of any type. I'd be willing to sacrifice a little defense for someone who could at least hit their weight.

We build through a. The draft b. The fa clearance aisle and c. The undervalued player trade market. Khan's gonna spend on these wherever possible, but big dollar high drama new contract wrs, aren't it

This is proof why the RedSox could not wait to fire Cherington fast enough. He is an utter disgrace as a GM. He drafted one bust in Henry Davis and Skenes whom he drafted will have to be traded before he reaches his arbitration years. Plus, he has done NOTHING to make this club any better in the 5 years he has been here.

If Cherington is waiting for prices to drop, he will be too late. They need bats now. They can't make a wildcard with this current offense.

Thank you Jason for calling out the fact that nothing has been done to help this team. Cherrington is to blame. Had they done something, we could be in a better spot now!

I'm wondering, when, or if Pegeuro is going to get playing time. He has shown promise at the plate, and improved his defense. Nick Gonzalez is doing well, so he will be a mainstay, as long as he continues. Peggy should be on the 25 man. Get him regular at bats. Having him languish in Indy, is wasting his ability.

The better question is why Michael Taylor is still on this team. He has been worse than useless. The explanation for Suwinski is related to this. They have no one better. That is depressing but I think they shrug and feel the occasional home run he hits is better than what they have. They desperately need to trade for a hitting outfielder.

The worst thing that happened yesterday did. He went 3 for with a two run home run. He can hit .050 for the rest of the season now and they won't give up on him now. The blind squirrel found his nut. He's officially here for good.

Suwinski needs to be released. He is wayyy too overmatched! He has one game like last night, then goes a month or more doing nothing. The Major Leagues are where the best players are. .168 hitters don't stay employed in ANY league. He is Joe Charbonneau 2.0. All this rhetoric about him working through stuff is nonsense. Nick Gonzalez went down, and adjusted. Suwinski is clueless. He has to be gone!

I don’t mind these signings IF they were made with an additional splash. For example if they went out and signed a guy like marchessault and then made these moves, I’m happy. But right now I’m feeling underwhelmed. Maybe there’s still the possibility of something more happening, rumors of a Jarry trade for spark something but I don’t see a top 6 forward coming back in that return…

Dubas' MO...go look in Toronto and the Soo in the OHL and you will see it is consistent: Load up on picks and prospects Give out more term and money in contracts than was expected Mostly skilled water bug type players (ie small) Take a bunch of flyers on other teams scratches and rags in hopes of hitting a homer Proceed to then trade picks and prospects *note most of those trades don't work out Fail to build a bottom 6 Fail to build a good bottom 4 on D Fail to win when it matters But for some reason people think he is something more than an average GM...so much so that Pittsburgh gave him full control for 7 years for lots of money...a guy who hasn't accomplished anything in this league or any league yet.

If I was Sid I would want out...he's too loyal and respectful for that...but Dubas is just creating a massacre here.....People love Dubas...and I don't get why....he has never won whether in the OHL, or with the Leafs....has shown a poor track record of building a bottom 6 or bottom 4 D.....and his approach of "loading on pics and prospects" failed in Toronto...because he didn't win a trade he made (with exception of Ryan O'Reilly trade in Toronto). Hayes worse than Smith Bottom 6 worse than last year And O'connor is expecting to fill the shoes of a winner in Guentzel.... Good luck...the team is in for a massacre... Former players, coaches, execs on TV and the ones I play pick up with are shaking their heads and frustrated for Sid.

Sid helped create this mess. They should have moved on from Malkin 6 years ago. Sid didn't allow that, probably up to basically forcing Rutherford out. Sid's watched and participated in this pathetic PP for years and let it happen

The Pirates should absolutely not aim for the playoffs this year. The field manager and coaching staff would take their failures and questionable decision-making into the playoffs, just as they're demonstrating their stark inadequacies and failures during the regular season so far. Clean house first, then build a staff that unequivocally possesses a winning mentality. You can't afford to retain a manager like Shelton who's passively satisfied with the "Sunday lineup card." It's maddening. Clean house.
