I don’t blame you my guy, I had made videos on my KZread channel when I was digging a 1860’s-80’s spot, and people local to my area started spying on my KZread videos to see exactly where I was digging and dug my spot dry

Thanks for the dig. Might have kept that Shefield beer till you found a full one but I guess you have to make some rules and stick to them or the house/shed etc would be filled to the brim in no time?! Also dont know if its only me but sometimes if some plate or pot is 75% there I would love to see them but I suppose it would be quite boring for the rest and quite time consuming.

@@bottlediggertom Its why we drink COLD beer mate. I was in the UK years ago and that hot wind from Africa and Spain is bloody hot. Feels a lot hotter there than here for the same temp. 100 quid a night and the aircon was a window. Went on a 125 to Scotland outside was 10c lovely. Inside the train was 25C and everyone was wearing overcoats. had to travel between the carriages to get some air. Walked some old Medievil strip farms when I played for Old Yardley I was fascinated when everyone thought I was mad. I could smell the relics mate bloody smell em!

22:40 looks like one of those Saxon things. Can you imagine how miserable the bloke was when he got home and found he had lost all the tokens his miserable Boss paid him with? Did he blame the wife for the hole in his pocket? The bag seal appears to be quite rare and is either Norwich or Hamburg. Either way I cant find one in as good a condition as yours.

I read an article the other day by a bloke who with his mates were the first to get metal detectors in the UK. They hammered everywhere and made millions. I suppose someone had to be first. They estimate they found 30% of the lost gold in the UK around churches and parks and old markets etc nothing was off limits. They even attacked Stonehenge and old Palace gardens. Developers should be forced to sieve the top metre of soil as a condition of development and all finds should be offered to Museums etc.

Big give is footpaths going straight across fields no farmer likes this but this only happens only truly ancient fields more modern footpaths say victorian can be relocated round the edges of fields or linked up in different places but ancient footpaths can't be messed with. Old footpaths can go back 1000s of years

  • @woofusdad

Lovely. Can I ask please, how do you get permission on a field that is being developed? I was told they never give permission as they are terrified that something “ significant “ is found and then the archeologists then schedule it and thus stop/delay the development?

stupid comments about poisoning the fields by not taking a phone battery back home with me THE ENTIRE PLOT OF FIELDS` TREES` & HEDGES ARE GOING TO BE RIPPED UP COVERED IN CONCRETE AND TURNED INTO A INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IN THE NEXT 2-6 WEEKS THESE ARE NOT FARMERS FIELDS ONE PHONE BATTERY WILL MAKE ABSALUTLY NO DIFFERENCE WHEN ITS UNDER 3FT OF STONE AND CONCRETE !! THIS WAS A MAD DASH ROUND SOME FIELDS

Mate you have to learn to ignore the bad and live off the good. Dont let the Bastards get you down mate! 99% of people love it when you find something and are happy to see you happy doing what you do to your own set of rules. You could show us nothing and thats probably what they want. Jealously and spite make for an early death.
