just a local Nottinghamshire lad
that goes about his business digging Victorian rubbish tips
armed with a mobile phone and a gopro. I film everything as it comes out the ground the good digs and the bad digs.

Good to see you back.
Always enjoy watching your videos Tom the good ones and not so good always keeping it real
nice hunt Tom. if I find a wheat penny, I feel lucky and there only 60 years old.
May be slim pickings Tom but still a great video 👍
Great fields
I don’t blame you my guy, I had made videos on my KZread channel when I was digging a 1860’s-80’s spot, and people local to my area started spying on my KZread videos to see exactly where I was digging and dug my spot dry
Parasites.
@@1mmickk yup, and at the time I was fresh into digging, and the people digging there were 30 plus years into the hobby, grown ass adults
Thanks for the dig. Might have kept that Shefield beer till you found a full one but I guess you have to make some rules and stick to them or the house/shed etc would be filled to the brim in no time?! Also dont know if its only me but sometimes if some plate or pot is 75% there I would love to see them but I suppose it would be quite boring for the rest and quite time consuming.
He goes for quality not quantity for sure a purist.
Panel bottle cleaned up nicely, I know you do a sniff test on some, any indication as to what it contained? Thanks for another great video.
Love the large aqua sauce? Weird oval panels makes it kinda cool! ❤ I do missed your digs. I don’t dig so much anymore. I always enjoy digging through you! Thank you Tom
Some days good some days bad just gotta appreciate the time we get out there whilst we still can 👌🏻👏🏼👏🏼
Not every hunt can be successful but it's still better than not trying at all. Great proportions on that panel bottle. Thanks for posting it!
Very nice finds, Tom, they cleaned up nicely!❤
Always nice to have you back! Keep well 😊 UK
Sorry I had to leave for a bit, oil change on my vehicle appointment. Now I can finish your video. Always a pleasure. Thank you Tom, cheers.
That’s hard digging, those bottles cleaned up nicely
Hang those insulators on your Christmas tree 😂
Tom carry on doing what you are doing mate and ignore the dick heads from Gary on the cloudy Isle of wight
MATE !!! That poison is amazing
Good to have you back Tom, weird tip looking at the ash, very loose and chunky. But looks like my first tip where anything could pop out.
Yes mate every dig seems to be different types of ash at the moment anyway
That panel bottle is lovely and cleaned up very well.
Gunna have to get you down here Tom on a red hot day 47C see how you do.
That would kill me mate A heatwave hear is 25°c I'm more used to wind cold n rain
@@bottlediggertom Its why we drink COLD beer mate. I was in the UK years ago and that hot wind from Africa and Spain is bloody hot. Feels a lot hotter there than here for the same temp. 100 quid a night and the aircon was a window. Went on a 125 to Scotland outside was 10c lovely. Inside the train was 25C and everyone was wearing overcoats. had to travel between the carriages to get some air. Walked some old Medievil strip farms when I played for Old Yardley I was fascinated when everyone thought I was mad. I could smell the relics mate bloody smell em!
Thanks for the content i know how much effort it takes
Most of my videos involve at least 5 hours digging plus one hour filling in again when iv packed up
Hes a bloody hard worker.
Red hot pickings on a good finds day 😉
Pretty common bottle if you've been digging long enough
Happy to see you back digging! Cod, poison and other interesting bottles beautifully displayed at the end for us.
Nice to see you back to digging. I love the narrative so please keep sharing your knowledge and ideas. Adorable snow baby and mini bottles. Be safe.
Thank you
Fab vid tom. A beautiful place with so much history still hidden, sad more of our countryside is being built on. As for the vape pens, I'm forever picking them up off the riverbank and out of the water. Same with disposable lighters.
Cool
So sad that that beautiful countryside is going to be built on. It’s probably been like that for thousands of years and “progress” will rob it from us. Great video and nice finds Tom
henricus 3rd cut half penny
Nice to have rescued some treasures before they vanish forever.
“There’s not much here anyway”…………👀😲 Great clip, unreal finds !
There isn't compared to farm iv got permission on I avarage 1 hammered and a roman broach on every visit my best day was 3 hammereds 2 milled silvers 2 roman brooches and a roman coin but it's waist high in crop at the min
Spur buckle
Very acidic that ground , try a citric acid bath to clean them up maybe 🤔
22:40 looks like one of those Saxon things. Can you imagine how miserable the bloke was when he got home and found he had lost all the tokens his miserable Boss paid him with? Did he blame the wife for the hole in his pocket? The bag seal appears to be quite rare and is either Norwich or Hamburg. Either way I cant find one in as good a condition as yours.
Thanks mate it was found in Nottinghamshire if that helps at all
I read an article the other day by a bloke who with his mates were the first to get metal detectors in the UK. They hammered everywhere and made millions. I suppose someone had to be first. They estimate they found 30% of the lost gold in the UK around churches and parks and old markets etc nothing was off limits. They even attacked Stonehenge and old Palace gardens. Developers should be forced to sieve the top metre of soil as a condition of development and all finds should be offered to Museums etc.
Interesting mate but that must of been a long long time ago detectors have come on a long way
Pretty solid results for a day's detecting. Thanks for putting it up for view.
Thanks mate 2 days detecting though and now a pealing head!!
Wow,I love the hammered coin, sweet find brother.👍✌️❤️
Howdy Tom,I really enjoyed your metal detecting episode, you found many interesting finds 😅❤
Thanks for interesting finds
Super cool finds!, Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic video again Tom. It gives a great insight through the finds of the different ages the field was used 👌
Big give is footpaths going straight across fields no farmer likes this but this only happens only truly ancient fields more modern footpaths say victorian can be relocated round the edges of fields or linked up in different places but ancient footpaths can't be messed with. Old footpaths can go back 1000s of years
Lovely. Can I ask please, how do you get permission on a field that is being developed? I was told they never give permission as they are terrified that something “ significant “ is found and then the archeologists then schedule it and thus stop/delay the development?
I imagine you don't haha
All I can say about that is if I did everything by the book nothing would ever get done 😉
Tom, you need to go back to the field, and metal detect as much as you can. Great finds!
I can neither confirm nor deny' it but somebody was there this morning at 4am while security was still in bed dreaming of catching bad guys 😉
stupid comments about poisoning the fields by not taking a phone battery back home with me THE ENTIRE PLOT OF FIELDS` TREES` & HEDGES ARE GOING TO BE RIPPED UP COVERED IN CONCRETE AND TURNED INTO A INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IN THE NEXT 2-6 WEEKS THESE ARE NOT FARMERS FIELDS ONE PHONE BATTERY WILL MAKE ABSALUTLY NO DIFFERENCE WHEN ITS UNDER 3FT OF STONE AND CONCRETE !! THIS WAS A MAD DASH ROUND SOME FIELDS
Mate you have to learn to ignore the bad and live off the good. Dont let the Bastards get you down mate! 99% of people love it when you find something and are happy to see you happy doing what you do to your own set of rules. You could show us nothing and thats probably what they want. Jealously and spite make for an early death.
@@1mmickk thanks mate
@@1mmickk I beg to differ I'd definitely say 100% of people love the finds just some folks are environmentally anal. So my 50p would be to just stay cool and apologise to Absolutely no one 😀 Look forward to the next vid Tom lad 👍🏼
people say its sad to name your metal detector but i call mine the grim bleeper, as all we find are pull rings of tinned food, why are so many people eating tinned food in the middle of no where?
🤣🤣🤣👌
