Great video! Will this method of removing the undercarriage /motor assembly work for the 2013 generation Siennas. In other words, will the assembly also fit through the wheel well? Thanks!

Anyone know why you’d want to replace this? I recently installed a new compressor and condenser for my ac. And it works but is not ice cold. I’m suspecting this is the next part to replace. Anyone have any ideas?

I have done a ton of these expansion valves. I have done them so much that I have proven many people wrong about this method of removal and replacement. I can do them from under the hood. Its all about the angle you pull it off and install it. The disk end of the valve has to be pulled out last and inserted first.

Thanks for the video just did the axle replacement. Removing and replacing the heat shield on passenger side was a pain in the a$$ even with all the swivels and extensions. If you’ve had the pinch bolt out recently that might be easier.

After I loosened up the reward lower control arm bolt, I cut it out with a sawzal, then would pull it out some more, until the bolt came out. NEVER had to drop the subframe. I had a spare 7/16 bolt I was able to finagle in there. I don’t recommend this, but I didn’t want to drop the subframe and so this worked. I also did the same thing with the other lower control arm bolt that was hitting the transmission pan. That one was also a pain the butt but I got it.

I completed this job a couple of weeks ago. I could not have done it without this video so thank you from the bottom of my heart! A couple of extra tips. #1. The upper rear motor mount bolt was impossible for me until I used a pry-bar to bend the heat shield material just below it, allowing more clearance. The other 3 bolts on that bracket, I accessed from the front. #2. There is a K-shaped cross brace under the hood near the fire wall. I mobilized the lower (passengers side) leg of this and it made accessing those hidden starter mounting bolts much easier. Also, one might want to replace that motor mount white you’re at it. The passengers side seems to fail at about 100k miles anyway. I had already done this a few months ago.

Question. Is there a labor difference if I just have the expansion valve and evaporator done compared to just have the expansion value done?

Am I crazy or is there no torque converter type nuts?
@happywrenchingАй бұрын
There is no torque converter. Its setup more like a manual transmission where it just slides off the input shaft once you remove the outside engine to transmission bolts.

Retired master tech here, I enjoyed your style and your repair worked, good job. However the rusty side cutters you used distracts the art of the repair. A metal brush, some WD40 and a wipe down would greatly enhance the ambience of the video.

@stellarv5689Ай бұрын
Take a brush and dip it into that used transmission fluid and brush all those areas that are wanting to get rusty it will add extra protection and stop rust from advancing
