Thanks for posting this. Those two hidden clips would have caused me no end of grief. Note there are 10 screws on the bottom (not 8 like mentioned in the video) on my 2016. Also, it may be possible to replace the headlight assembly without completely taking the bumper cover off - there are no screws holding in the headlight assembly from the front - just one on the side under the bumper cover, one on top, and one next to the that long white clip that holds the bumper cover (the last two pulled off in the video). But I took it all off because I wasn't sure, and this video helped a lot. Thanks!

This was an OUTSTANDING video! I have a 2021 and it is essentially unchanged from your procedure. I think we just have a couple more screws. The most critical thing to watch when disassembling is the wiring harnesses (I had two on each side) that go to where fog lights would be. Even if you don't have an option installed the harnesses will still be there. You'll rip the wires from the sockets if you aren't careful.

Thanks for putting this video up! I just installed HIDs and couldn't get the drive side bulb back in. The space was just too tight. Your video made it so easy and a lot less intimidating. Weird that you have to take the whole front of the car off to get to the headlight assembly. Thanks again!

It's not easy and there might be some cussing involved, but it is possible to do without removing the headlight.

Dont forget the reconnect the fog lights!! great vid, made it less intimidating

Excellent video ! 👍This allowed me to handle pulling the bumper to replace my window wash reservoir which was holed when I hit a turkey. Sadly I found a crack 2in long in the bumper under my headlight at the same time but I guess it's not bad for a 50mph strike. 😒

Great video. Mazda definitely did not put much thought into the headlight replacement process. I should not have to remove my entire front bumper to replace a headlight assembly. The LED daytime lights stopped working.

Hello, I have a 2013 Mazda CX-5, and I was wondering since it didn’t come with Fog Lights, do you know if the wiring is already there to add them in later?

Just what I was looking for. Want to install mesh screen behind grill to block large objects from hitting radiator on 2016 CX-5. More amazed at gloves. Mine would of been shredded by the second clip.

Can you get access to behind the grille without going to all that extreme ? I just want to put on my old AA badge onto grille so need access to rear of it to attach retaining bracket.

very good ! thank you . do you know if replacing the headlight requires removing the bumper even partially? regarding battery disconnection... i believe it is woth the efforts keeping the voltage for the engine computer in order not to lose all the history of your driving style and fuel consumption that the engine computer is keeping as well as other valuable info that the engine computer is storing along the way .

I'm paranoid about the airbag system going off. I have peace of mind knowing the electrical system is disconnected.

how installed bull bar on Mazda cx5 2016

Do-able but a pain in the ass for a light replacement... or am I missing something? I think its sad that these well-engineered cars have all this plastic in the front to take the brunt of what might otherwise be a scuff mark on a real bumper. Everything will crack. That sucks. Otherwise I like these cars. It's just jaw-dropping that the front-end is so cheap.

serg jay that just keeps the liability of something going wrong- like air bag activation (for some wierd freak accident). I wouldn't think it mattered. But, if I were to not do it and the air bag go off for some reason, the liability is on me..not him. CYA.

You forgot to show removal of the headlight. Also I am having trouble figuring out where to set the whole radiator support (core support) with the radiator, condenser, and fan assembly all installed out of the car. I am rebuilding a total. I am use to seeing a metal Core Support in the front to BOLT all of this stuff to. But with this CX5 (2015) I am not seeing anything to set all of this assembly on to support it. It seems that all the Mazda has is just plastic to support all of this assembly weight. ?????? Let alone when it is filled. 417-300-5990 Joe @ Autoworld. Thank you greatly
